And I quote Jeff, "You're (Clay) the reason she came." Even though Hannah says Clay doesn't belong on the list because he's kind and genuinely good, it was important to tell the story thoroughly.

It's funny how Hannah and Jessica already know the plan while they were in the office with the staff member just to make her happy that they are both talking to each other
Maybe if Hannah’s friend that was in the first episode who moved away(forgot her name) never moved, maybe what happened to Hannah, would’ve been different.
