And if you buying 3 years old Land Rover Discovery Sport you have to pay luxury car tax just because new car price was over £ 40 000 that pissing me off.
If £34k was list price and anybody paid that, then they’re mad. Should get a minimum 2k off that. Generally take the biggest knock in the first year anyway.
I bought a Dacia Bigster full hybrid in November for 30000 euros. There’s 7 years guarantee on the car and 8 years on the battery. I don’t know what the resale will be in a few years, but the way petrol prices are going I can see hybrids becoming more desirable. Also, fortunately I live in Spain and pay 490 euros fully comprehensive insurance with the price fixed for 3 years.
ALL NEW CARS of ANY type Make and model lose a significant amount of their value as soon as you drive them out of the dealership, but looking at the 3 yrs and 30,000 mls benchmark they will have lost on average 50% of the new car car list price - but who pays list price anyway? I bought my new 2021 MG ZSEV with trade-in Citroen Berlingo (which was worth about 1200€) The list price of my car, at the time of purchase, 32,550€. I ended up paying 15,500€ plus the van (after govt grant) So even though my car has 'lost value' it hasn't cost me very much at all. I reckon I could sell it now for about 12,000€ so IF that came true it would have cost me approximately 3,000€ or 10% of the original list price. But nobody in their right mind pays list price anymore do they? If buyers are frightened of depreciation on new cars then my advice is DON'T buy brand new cars, buy the car you want at 3-6 months old.
I dont know who values your Zs but on autotrader ZSEV FROM 2021 with 30k miles is retailing (not trade in price ) £8950 and they are offering 0% finance ,so if you paid 15500 plus your 1200 px youve still lost half of what you paid .Thats if you can find a dealer who wants it .
@richardhusband1448 Or anybody at all who wants it! That is the whole problem, the vast majority of people don't want and won't buy these stupid milk floats. The sales have plateaued and have been relying on fleet numbers
@richardhusband1448bare in mind your £9000 is the equivalent of 10,300€. 30000 MLS equates to 49500 kms. So not really an apples to apples comparison...
They are supposed to help the planet but once battery goes they are scrap..6k for a battery ridiculous...my phev battery has just failed, carnt afford battery, will buy petrol only next time
Korean marques are doing badly in countries that don't ban China cars. Also Korea cars don't build the hybrid system on their own but relying much on buying from third party such as China and Germany then markup further being far more expensive. Get either Japanese or Chinese hybrids
That’s ok until your warranty which is 5 years, so if you keep it for 3 years, theres only 2 years left, the battery life is estimated to be 8 years, after which the batteries will need replacing at a cost of £8,000 pounds so that’s why they are losing money, there’s also no guarantee that it will work until the 8 year mark it must be on how many mileage you do, as how long the batteries will last. So the older your car the value will plummet after the warranty finishes. We have had 4 Toyotas and yes the car is reliable, but the small battery that keeps lights and starting the car often fails as we can attest, we have called the break down out 3 times last year, as the summer was a warm one, unless you run the car, to charge the small battery while packing for your holiday, the battery cannot cope with doors and boots open.
I guess this is one of the reasons that 90 per cent of all new cars in the UK are acquired on a PCP, depreciation is not really an issue, you can just walk away after 3 or 4 years..
After that 3 or 4 years you walk away with nothing or you do a terrible next deal because you are in negative equity. I finished a PCP deal last year on a petrol BMW X1. It was £7000 in positive equity. I could have had another new car for the same payment. If there wasn't that £7000 as a deposit the payment would have increased massively.
These are all terrible cars to begin with tbh. They aren’t off roaders , or cars. Just a bigger bit of metal to hunk around the streets, these cars are literally pointless lol people don’t know how big, or small they are, they drive like nobs and they look absolutely rubbish. I’d love to be in a sales meeting at some of these car companies !! lol when they give out awards for selling the WORST car on the forecourt!! 😂😂😂😅
100% agree with you, I have worked in the car trade for 36years as a technician and I've officially fallen out of love with cars nowadays, there just big ugly pieces of junk, cars from the 80s were the best
Just check reliability ranking for 5,and 10 years hev cars most kexus/ toyota hev system still works great, keep in mind we not talking about body paint, cabin interior etc we talking only how reliable toyota hev/ phev system is vr vw group,or MB..and you can easily find many 5 years + hev with over 100k i good working reliable condition 👍
Any five year old plus hybrid or EV is a huge risk. You’re really taking a gamble that the battery is sound. How did the previous owner treat the charging cycles?? You will probably be lucky but don’t bank on it. Older vehicle will almost certainly be write offs once the battery dies. Don’t expect EV’s to be around very much at over twelve years old.
If we take as example toyota hv battery replacement pack for 2016 model you can get 1 in used certificated condition for around 400 today's complicated diesel injection pump will cost around 600 used and its far labour intensive to replace then hv pack, reliability wise toyota lexus hv pack are truly leaders of long life not performance but long reliable life 👍
I am absolutely disgusted by such RUclips posts that dictate to the viewer what that person should or should not buy or eat. What right do you have to condemn products that in many cases have been on sale and eaten or used for, in most cases, for many years. Your, in the main, unsubstantiated claims are an absolute disgrace! STOP posting such potentially libelous posts, crawl back into your shell and hibernate, period! I hope those you denegrate sue you.
Not sure where your getting information from about mg commitment to the uk MG is a hugely successful brand for parents company Saic which is one of china's motoring giants. There are no parts issue and oeopke like you who nake up fake hew should be prosecuted. Mg hybr8d and phev and bev vehicle are highly sort after they are very good products at exceptional prices. Hs is a great product thevtge hev version intgd new has is winning many new oeberbover for price quality and reliability
This is poorly researched, misleading and full of untruths…. You are not even showing the correct models you are claiming to talk about ! What is your actual agenda other than misinformation …. Not worth subscribing… I won’t be bothering with any more of your rubbish.
Hybrids are pointless nonsense and depreciating fast given the way technology is developing. What is the point of charging for several hours for a range of 50 miles ffs.
You keep comparing to Chinese cars however we know Chinese cars are low quality crap made with tin foil and over reliance on electrical components that fail at the drop of a hat. This smells like a Chinese promotional video without actually saying it.
What a pile of ill informed rubbish. Anyone that finds this presentation in any way useful needs help. If this is the best you can do, don't waste people's time.
Da Hybrid car still better dun eny tesla eny petrol or diesel car is better All day long dun a electric car electric car is a liy it is rubbish waste off mony
You absolutely right brother 💯%,
Kia hybrid all makes 7 year warranty best buy
I'm surprised that with the amount of Nissan qashqai hybrids, especially the r-power that was sold in the last 3 to 4 years, it wasn't mentioned
And if you buying 3 years old Land Rover Discovery Sport you have to pay luxury car tax just because new car price was over £ 40 000 that pissing me off.
I saw a Renault Symbioz 1.6 hybrid barely 18 month old. It had less than 3K on the clock and was less than £21,000. New £34,000! 😮😮😮
If £34k was list price and anybody paid that, then they’re mad. Should get a minimum 2k off that. Generally take the biggest knock in the first year anyway.
you are 100% wrong on the Mitsubishi outlanders, we have 7 of these outlanders never had any problem,
DS has been junked, so if you have one expect a huge loss in resale. Also problems getting insurance
I'm unlucky I have the outlander phev
Great car. Drove one 4 years without problem and dropped under 30% from new.
2017 Tesla s 90d top specs 140k for 7K

My advice is simpler, if you fear depreciation then steer clear of any milk floats
yeah, you fucked up buying anything with batteries and motors in it
I dont know who values your Zs but on autotrader ZSEV FROM 2021 with 30k miles is retailing (not trade in price ) £8950 and they are offering 0% finance ,so if you paid 15500 plus your 1200 px youve still lost half of what you paid .Thats if you can find a dealer who wants it .

Anything that last
Why would you buy a car to sell it back?
Nothing about Tesla and the others linked to us owners?
Wouldn't drive a bmw after 2019 after that all hybrid gunk
Please remix the sound to remove the horrid low frequency pulse and dont use it ever again!
Depreciating asset - lease. Appreciating asset - buy. Simple.
The aim is pushing you not having only rent it. You have nothing u will be happy 😮
Really how good are these Chinese car going to be in three years, already here there’s a three month or more waiting list for parts.
Damaged the front end of an MG HS hybrid. Had all parts in 7 days.
Did anyone actually buy a ds7? Surely most of these cars were bought on pcp so after 4 years they just
Swap or walk away
I still have a DS7 crossback etense 4x4.very good car and reliable. Don't listen bullshits people say...very confy on long distance
Why would you buy a plug in hybrid without the ability to charge at home..and AI voice over is just nonsense,
Cars up to 2005 were the best
What's about Toyota?
zzzzzz we all lease now
They are supposed to help the planet but once battery goes they are scrap..6k for a battery ridiculous...my phev battery has just failed, carnt afford battery, will buy petrol only next time
Does it matter if Chinese brands have a long warranty if there are no parts and no service centers?
Toyota Prius hybrid is the best car. Even Kia hybrid is good
Korean marques are doing badly in countries that don't ban China cars. Also Korea cars don't build the hybrid system on their own but relying much on buying from third party such as China and Germany then markup further being far more expensive. Get either Japanese or Chinese hybrids
Go for Toyota or Lexus. They’re the only proper Hybrids.
@san@sandrawestley4193warranty is 10 years with Lexus and Toyota as long as your get it serviced with them .
@sandrawestley4193the small battery in the Toyota FHEV doesn't cost £8 k
All 10 cars are the best sellers in UK 😂
Your ai voice is not good
I guess this is one of the reasons that 90 per cent of all new cars in the UK are acquired on a PCP, depreciation is not really an issue, you can just walk away after 3 or 4 years..
The depreciation is built in. You are still paying for it. You just don't have the trouble with selling it or trading it in.
What’s going to happen to full electric cars at 5 or 6 years old….
Nissan Leaf has been around for 15 years now........still going strong.
What’s going to happen to ICE vehicles when fuel tops £2 / litre and stays there for 18 months.
What nonsense
What a load of BS
Steer away. Only hybrid for reliability is Toyota/ Lexus
Car dealers sell cars like 24 carat gold , well they do find idiots to buy these junk .
If you want a hybrid buy Lexus or Toyota. End of.
Byd u m0r0n
@number19realWow that's a mature reply. Does mummy know you're on social media?

Toyota and Honda are the safest options
Actually its Toyota and Suzuki
Toyota FHEV with the 2.5 l engine is bulletproof. Ford have copied this also, that's why KUGA FHEV is sought after
Lexus Toyota or Honda hybrids after those 3 there is only junk.😊
honda hybrids are poor compared to the Lexus/Toyota technology.
@fivishI’m a Lexus hybrid owner and I can vouch for Honda hybrids as my brother has an accord hybrid and they are on par with Toyota hybrids
I'm a Suzuki hybrid owner.... And have a 10 year warranty....
@gerardphillips7507it’s a Toyota system
All Hybrids when old even only 3 years are crap. You can get rid of them only with huge discount
Not true, Toyota hybrids are far from crap!
@topps19891or my Lexus es300h 😊

These hybrids and EVs and computers on wheels ought to be banned. Just go back to the good old combustion engine CARS for gods sake. 😤
