This would be amazing for VR gaming in something like the Oculus Rift, or Vive. Facebook invested money in Oculus Rift and I can only imagine the social applications it might have. If we could go to a place for a 3D scan like this, it would be that more immersive for people in VR. You could visit people all over the world as yourself, be in games, movies, etc, with expressions, realistic lighting and all.

If I were an actor, I would be afraid that this would make me obsolete After all, if they can do a realistic rendering of my face and body, and then manipulate the expressions of my digitized face, and use the voice of someone who doesn't ask for much money, that would quickly put me out of business. On the plus side, its great for porn. If someone were to pirate a perfect digital rendering of your favorite actor/actress, say like Salma Hayek, a person's porn fantasies could finally come true.
