I really appreciate you putting these old vids back up! I got my fruiting area up and running first and have some of T.R.'s blocks rocking it out in there right now, but my lab is my next project!
You guys slay me with your labs, I worked in a professional TC lab, we walked into one room changed into our dedicated lab shoes that were autoclaved, into another room washed our hands, put on gloves, then our suites and face gear, then we entered the lab, our stations had the filter in our face, the blinding high UV lights, we couldn't put our faces too close to anything otherwise our heads would hit a no no bar, no arms on the tables, on and on...we STILL on occasion got contamination in our agar cultures. I don't know how you get any clean cultures
Your HEPA filters could be a contamination vessel, due to the heat they take from sterilization. Try to isolate HEPA from moisture and heat. Sorry about my poor english, still learning.
it's great and thumb up that you can describe your lab operation in detail but i feel like you need to also make a video on how to do it minimally without all the extras, the bare minimum for someone who doesn't have the money to buy so much equipment. considering that such person doesn't mind doing extra work to check when to turn on and off things or do extra cleaning and preping, thanks.
No disrespect but you've got to understand he's running a business (I guess 2 if you count this) and trying to help out by giving a very good overview of what worked for him. With a little searching it should be easy to work backwards which is what I am doing. Thank you very much for a very helpful video. I was worried about sterilizing equipment in the lab (keeping it clean enough) and this cleared up many of my concerns. Edit: this might be a helpful link ruclips.net/video/puAydFMhiUw/видео.html
I use a 4x4 grow tent for my "lab" sterile room. I have 2 UV sterilizer lamps that hang from the supports and a small HEPA filter on the floor. I use a still air box and a UV Sterilizer cabinet for tools and petris. I get everything set-up, wiped down with 70%iso, tools in the cabinet, ect. I start the 10min cycle on the cabinet, turn on the HEPA and step out - close things up, and then turn on the the big UV lamps for a 1 hour cycle. When I step in that workspace is about as clean as it can be. I wear a tyvek suit and cover 99% of my skin. Turn off the HEPA and get to work. Mind you I only need go to this extreme if I"m dealing with spore prints or Agar cultures. And the rest of the farm space is filtered with 20x20 box fans with a MERV 6 pre-filter and a MERV 13 post-filter. So, the airborne particles are extremely low throughout.
Could you tell me about how many square feet you would recommend for a lab that I hope will eventually have about the same capability as you have in this one? I want to get it big enough for me to grow into. Thanks for the awesome videos! You'll likely hear from me about a mentorship in the next couple of years.
Can you inject liquid mycelium culture directly in fruiting substrate avoiding the grain process and if that's not possible how about putting grain in the top of the fruiting bag and just let it colonize the grain at the top of the bag and then spread to the fruiting substrate???

fire hazard fire hazard... watching youre videos since the beginning with youre microgreen and youre first hepa filter but all those cords and plugs youll burn your place down. Get an electrician or rewire this garage. What I'm saying you have a great business and all those efforts would be sad to see that burn!
Yea it was a bit of a mess but all those cords are just running small fans for about an hour a week. All the major loads were direct wired to outlets. The new location will have a lot more outlets where they are needed. I did add outlets to the lab but also my equipment grew too.
Wow you know how much you pay per kwH, you are a straight up nerd, that is awesome. Thanks for the video!

What's Tc lab
Great video thanks
Truth is is that it's over kill. Biologist could learn something from mycologists. That's what happens when you follow the sheeple route 😂😂😂
You do all that prep and still manage to contam? Lol 😂😂😂
You don't know how they get clean cultures cuz truly you don't understand shite about it 😂😂😂❤️🤡

No one cares 😄
Awesome setup, nice one!
Thx for this video. Super helpful, it answers lots of questions!

Fedora Buttmunchcow lol
I can find any SS tables for under 250.00 on craiglist , man you were lucky.
Is it ok to have my lab in my inoculation chamber? I'm small scale and just don't have the room for two separate spaces.
do you store spawn bags in the refrigerator in between uses?
did you drill your wood framing into your garage or basement floor?
Do you happen to have the model # for the blower fan you are using in the bigger flow hood?
nice set up
what about ozone generator for cleaning air?

@@AaronAlso is there a chance you can show pictures or videos of your set-up?
What kind of bags are those (can be pressure-cooked) ? Thanks
yes they can be pressure cooked. Check out my website link in the description to order bags, I sell in small quantities and cases.

yes you can go from LC direct to sawdust. Works better with some mushrooms than others. The Chinese use this method with bottle cultivation

@@clarencekinikini491 SAB's are slow and restrictive. Hang onto it though. They are good for taking spore prints.
Bro how do you learn to build all of these things?
