I mean if someone put me to sleep and I woke up 20 years later, I have still missed both my kids entire childhoods, my partner has moved on, I no longer have my job and my skills are now 20 years out of date, my parents would most likely be dead by this point, my cats are dead, I would likely have no friends. I think people often forget that being locked away from society means it moving on without you.

There is also the option for judges to send prisoners to Cursed Earth work farms available where the perps can repay society by doing manual labour. Also there is a iso-block offshore from Mega City One that was once a vigilante's private prison called the House of Pain. It was taken over by the judges when they discovered it and is now under the wardenship of Judge Gunthrie.

While is infinitely better than Stallone's version, the earlier film has a better judges helmet... More range of view and the x doesn't block vision as Urbans version.

In Mega City one there is a place called Reysk, it is a funeral parlour up front but behind the velvet curtain is monstrous conveyor belt that carries thousands of bodies to human deconstruction tools, everything that can be recycled from the human body is recycled, organs, bodily fluids, skin. Imagibe a conveyor belt in hell. Honestly the only thing not recycled are eyelashes I think. There was an issue once where Resyk became self aware and demanded more bodies, led to 100's being killed before their time but Dredd managed to kill the programme and had to essentially restart the machine the same day, one hour out of service at resyk can lead to a backlog of over 3,000 bodies. It shows how much death there is in MC1.
Pretty much agree with your calculations, some storylines throw up clone issues as well (A pop singer sold his sperm at an exuberant price to his fans which led to gangs of identical fast grown clones forming a criminal element within MC1, this was a short story tho) plus they recycle the dead from various attacks on the city and various wars as well (Resyk is always high priority to be up and running after any attack for the obvious reasons of clean up). The only thing I think that ever threatened Resyk itself was a character called Otto Sump and all he did was make a food line that wasn't human sourced, it was called Grot Pot and became quite popular until Dredd shut it down (To be honest tho the Judges pulled a fast one by repackaging it as standard justice issue food and reaped the monetary rewards for themselves)

It some storyline when Judges have suffered tremendous losses or the city is under brutal attack, cadets (over the age of 16) can be drafted to the front lines.

Not to my knowledge regarding emergency cloning of judges. The only success of cloning were Dredd and Rico and given the expense and time it took to get to Dredd and Ricon and with Rico turning bad the Justice Department tried various other methods of law enforcement such as the Mechanismo project and in the time when sanctions were lifted on Mutants they opened recruitment for all (in a diminished capacity in the Mega Cities) but as full Sheriff's in the outlying towns. The Judda project put a final nail in the cloning coffin but it did bring up a dilemma for Dredd, a clone was drafted into the MC1 Jidges who had been made by the rogue Judge Judda and he was cloned of Dredd himself. If am absolutely honest mate the Justice Dept has a habit of making the odd clone now and then to see if its worth pursuing but most time Dredd finds out about and shuts its down.
