As an Athari, I respect Yasir al-Hanafi's response. His response was gentle, wise and respectful. There is too much back and forth with arguing, calling each other slanderous names. Accusing each other of things that are not true (majority). Attacking each others scholars who benefit islam and the muslims. It's really sad to see. Even with our differences, there should be a level of sincerity, care, and love for our fellow muslim brother. We can respectfully disagree and want good for our fellow brother/sister. Many people on both sides have taken this topic to the extreme up until the point where they hate their muslim brother/sister. This has to stop. As what Sheikh Yasir al-Hanafi said, we should work on cooperating with each other on matter of good and spreading islam. His thinking is far ahead a lot of brothers who just want to continue to argue and tear each other down on both sides. May Allah reward Sheikh Yasir al-Hanafi, Ameen.

This is exactly the sign of a true Islamic scholar. With adab, etiquette of the Prophet pbuh, the companions, the salaf and khalaf , knowledgable with a beautiful demeanor and objective with the truth. No cherry picking but delivering directly to the point. This is a true representation of the sunnah of our Prophet pbuh.
Abdulrahman hassan is not only a NOT a scholar (he was never considered one other than on youtube & by his young less educated followers that only take knowledge online, and was never even considered a tholibul ilm to many of the formal educators from the salafiyyah manhaj) He is flaming up a whole group of young men who lack ilm & adab that are attacking the true traditions of the ahlus sunnah and the pious predecessors. Truly signs of the khawarij. May Allah guide him and his overzealous and hard hearted followers. He alike many alike, are a sign of true fitnah for the ummah, where they challenge true scholarly isnaad of ilm and the traditions of the shariah brought from our Prophet pbuh and the salaf down to today, preserved and pristine.
Its clear abdul rahman just repeats from selected items and doesn't even bother to listen in before screaming out things he copies and pastes. Its unfortunate for Salafiyyah manhaj and practicing atharis that these are the icons youtube daiees follow and breeds ie. dakwahman.
This people done more disservice to the Sunnah and the spread of Islam by poisoning the young minds through these new channels in social media.

Ignaz Goldziher (researcher who died 1921 - before madkhalism):
For a long time the Ash'arites could not venture to teach their theology in public. It was not taught as a formally acknowledged part of the system of orthodox theology until the middle of the eleventh century, when the famous vizier of the Seljuqs, Nizam al-Mulk, established in the great schools he had founded in Nishapur and Baghdad positions for the public teaching of the new theological ideas. The most famous representatives of the new theology occupied professorships at these institutions. These institutions are associated with the victory of the Ash'arite school over the Mu'tazila on the one side, and intransigent orthodoxy on the other. The work of these institutions marks, therefore, an important turning point not only in the history of Muslim education, but also in Islamic theology.

I was Wahhabi but Alhamudillah I left them for many reasons like,
1- they say we follow the Kitab and sunnah and we don't need to follow the 4 muthhabs.
I discovered they follow their shaikhs like Ibn Baz and Ibn Uthaimeen.
    so it is contradiction.
The second reason is like the first one but they were more extremists. they said we just follow Quraan and Hadeeth, we don't need any Shaikh.
so what happened: one of them said Wine is Halal and he mentioned the Ayah "you who believe! Do not go near Salāh when you are intoxicated, until you know what you say,"
So then I understood why Allah orders us to Ask the Ulamaa
3 The third reason was they said the people follow 4 Imams even they has wrong opinion.
What I discovered the Ulamaa in the same Muthhab left the Imam opinion if it was wrong. For example, In Hanafi mothhab
Many times Muhmmad ibn Alhasan and Abu Yousef don't follow Abu Hanifah opinions.

The objections you made are grossly invalid and are an indication of you lack of understanding.
      1) The shear amount of explanations by salafi scholars on hanbali fiqh treatises is plentiful. They never said "you dont need a sheikh". Ibn Uthaymeen is considered to be a contemporary Hanbali, he has a 15 volume explanation of Zad al Mustaqni which FYI is a famous Hanbali fiqh text by Imam Al Hajjawi. Loads of other Salafi scholars have taught a variety of different hanbali text, such as bidayat al abid, akhsar al mukhtasarat, umdat al fiqh, mukhtasar al khiraqi etc. All of these are hanbali madhab fiqh books!
      2) Salafis don't say you don't need any shaikh. This is another unfounded claim.
      3) Salafis do not forbid people from studying and learning a madhab. If anything they encourage it. What they do not encourage is following a weak opinion or scholarly ijtihad when clear evidence is presented to you. So up until the clear evidence is presented you can make taqleed no problem.

One of the most analytical early accounts of al-Muḥasibī’s theology is provided by al-Shahrastānī (d. 548/1154). Al-Shahrastānī claimed that the earliest scholars of the traditionalists (whom he referenced as ‘Ahl al Ḥadīth’) such as Mālik b. Anas (d. 170/787) and Ibn Ḥanbal , would not categorize or differentiate between the Attributes of God mentioned in the texts, and would affirm all of them, in a manner (kayfiyya) known to God. Since Muʿtazilīs would negate attributes, and the traditionalists would affirm them, the latter were called ‘Attributionisits’ (ṣifātiyya) while the former were called ‘Negationists’ (muʿaṭṭila). This remained the case, he stated, until the time of Ibn Kullāb and al-Muḥāsibī, for these two ascribed themselves to the traditionalists, but embraced the knowledge of kalām and supported the doctrines of the traditionalists through kalām arguments and logical reasoning.(3)

    @moynulislam5449 2 года назад

    how kalam emerged:
intra-Christian controversies played a direct role (perhaps even supplying the term ‘kalām’ from the ‘logos’ of Biblical fame). The fact that earlier debates over issues of predestination played a crucial role to jumpstart a similar discussion in Islamic circles shows that the influence of intra-Christian polemics on Muslim theology has a clear precedent. Some have specifically pointed out Monophysite polemics against the Dyotheletes (written in Syriac) as a direct source of the origins of kalāmwhile others have highlighted the role of Christian converts to the new religion. It is also quite clear that Hellenistic controversies, such as theories of nature, the existence of atoms, and other cosmological notions, played a major role in the development of early kalām, and this is further manifested by the adoption of elements of Stoicism in kalām epistemology.(6)
Comparing the writings that we have of John of Damascus to later kalām beliefs, we find congruence in:(2)
    1) The method of proving God’s existence, from which later mutakallimūn developed the kalām cosmological argument.
    2) Understanding God’s attributes as via negativa (‘negative Attributes’), meaning that an Attribute does not affirm a concept, but rather negates one from God. Jaʿd is alleged to have continuously described God as ‘not being …’ something; a usage that appears to be unprecedented in the Islamic discourse before his time, yet championed by John of Damascus.
    3) John of Damascus’ belief in God as an Unsubscribed Being. While Jaʿd claimed that God is ‘everywhere’, the standard kalām belief championed by the Muʿtazilites and Ashʿarites, and similar to the beliefs of John of Damascus, is that God does not occupy space (mutaḥayyiz) nor can He have a direction (jiha).
    4) John of Damascus wrote that God is not a ‘compounded entity’, meaning that He was pure Unicity, without the Attributes being a part of Him. This is the essence of Muʿtazilism, and from such language emerges the kalām controversy of how best to ascribe God’s attributes to God.
    6) John of Damascus’ belief in the immutability of God; this too, became a standard kalām doctrine which entailed denying any ‘accident’ (ḥawādith) in the Essence of God.

I think calling the Ustaad a scholar is a tad too far. Indeed looking at the Ustaad and his minions, it shows them to be people who are very ignorant of the matters of Deen, coarse in manners and rude in speech. These reprobates are La Madabiyya intent on misleading the Muslims with their warped understanding of the Creed. This reprobate Ustaad is on record as claiming the Ashaira know nothing of The Quraan and Sunnah and they don't respect it. What a malicious and disgusting thing to say. The Imams of the Ashaira(and the Maturidiyya) are the reason for the spread of the knowledge of the Deen through the centuries. As an example Imam Ibn Hajar Al Asqalani's, Fath AlBari is the final summation of the science of Hadith. No one has bettered this. These reprobates learn from the books of Ashaira then malign them. Such is the curse of La Madabiyya. May Allah subhaanahuwataala save us from this path.

Anyone care to respond to Yasir Qadhi's academic conclusion:
"Any objective researcher will find that the Atharī creed is the earliest documented Sunnī creed, pre-dating the kalām-based creeds of the Ashāʿirah and Māṭūrīdiyah.* This is manifested in numerous theological treatises that still exist from the late second and early third Islamic centuries (some of which predate ʿAqīdah al-Ṭaḥāwīyyah). The Atharī creed was the dominant strand of Sunnī Islam in the fourth and fifth Islamic centuries,[15] and although it came to be limited to the Ḥanbalī School of the sixth century as a result of political changes, it received a reviving boost from the ever-phenomenal Ibn Taymiyya, from whom it still continues to receive vigor.[16]
    -
*This is the view of almost all non-Muslim academics who specialize in Islamic theology, from Ignaz Goldziher to Richard M. Frank, George Makdisi and Joseph van Ess. While it is true that most of these names are dismissive of the Atharī creed because they view it as being overtly simplistic, they acknowledge that this trend of proto-Sunnism pre-dates the kalām trend of Ashʿarism.
Some modern Ashʿarites, despite all evidence to the contrary, continue to paint an incorrect picture of this reality, in which it is alleged that Ibn Taymiyya ‘founded’ a new understanding of Islam. In my own personal library, as I write these lines, I can see around a dozen theological treatises in my bookshelf written before al-Ashʿarī, all of which affirm Allah’s Attributes completely and unconditionally, and refute kalām. One may disagree with Ibn Taymiyya, but one cannot historically deny that the general creed that Ibn Taymiyya preached pre-dates him by at least five centuries."
