This is 2017. A tough defeat for us. Whatever does not kill you, makes you stronger. A great day for Posh. A brilliant memory for you. Some great players you had then.
This is now 2024! After watching Posh lose out to Oxford in the play off semi last night, another trip down memory lane ticks all the boxes. Next season will soon be here. Trips to Rotherham and Mansfield.
The remarkable aspect of Peterborough United's team was the certainty of goals, both scored and conceded. Defensively, they struggled, with only Bristol Rovers conceding more goals (82) than Peterborough's 75. However, no team in any of the four divisions-Premier League, Championship, League One, and League Two-surpassed Peterborough's scoring tally that season. They netted 106 goals, outscoring the top two teams in League One, Brighton (85) and Southampton (86), and even eclipsing Manchester United's 78 goals, despite United clinching their 19th league title. Craig Mackail-Smith and George Boyd were particularly lethal, scoring 27 and 15 goals respectively, while Grant McCann led the league with 21 assists.
In Fifa, Peterborough United FC is rated 2 stars. I always used to call them "crap" but after seeing this, I'm doing Peterborough United v Arsenal. I also live in Peterborough! I live in Parnwell PE1 4YD
Still get goosebumps, would do anything to have another moment like this!!!
