This is so relatable lol...I'm half Tamilian and I have wonderful brown skin and people never think im from Tamil Nadu😅. Even Indians in India are racist sometimes. Because my skin is lighter than most Tamilian girls most people think I'm from Punjab or Kashmir and then when i open my mouth to speak people are always so confused because of my British accent 😂😂😂😂😂 it's so fun confusing people😎

I tell them, no I was born and raised in New York City and my accent is a Bronx accent..i sound like the singer/actress JLo....so they continue to keep asking me more, and that's when they ask about my ethnicity and I tell them all of my combination ethnicities that make up who I am.....so then I ask them about theirs, and they seemed confused ...then they say, oh well I have german, Irish , or Italian blah blah..i think the reason they ask is because you and I don't look white. We look very different to them, so they ask.

No there is no problem doing do. But to act like only white people are the only ones who have misconceptions about other cultures. People of color want us to share everything in our culture. But won't share their culture with us. And then if we are suppose to be one nation together. When the problems arise we should all take the blame. This is so true for a lot of groups .i think Americans are some of the least aware/exposed people when it comes to other cultures.unless an 'Indian ' doesn't look straight up like a Tamil or Sri Lankan type they are not Indian to them .ive seen people say priyanka chopra ,lily Singh deepika padukone etc don't look Indian which is hilarious it shows how little people know of other places ..'India ' is soooooo diverse its home to every major religion just about every skintone every phenotype it's so ethnically /culturally complex I'm sure if people saw the mountainous types of South Asia they would have a heart attack ..see the' dardic people' of India it's crazy because simmi looks completely indid and not really ambiguous at all as compared to a lot of other iranic type 'Indians ' you see in west Pakistan for example the pashtun people of South Asia...so if they don't think simmi looks Indian it makes you wonder what does to them as simmi looks very 'Indian 'in that sense people need to spend time on the anthropology forums or just learning about other ethnic groups .....
