  • In a dystopian world a new form of A.I. weaponry has been created. All these drone bots need is a profile: age, sex, fitness, uniform, and ethnicity. Nuclear is obsolete. Take out your entire enemy virtually risk free. Just characterize him, release the swarm, and rest easy.

    More About Slaugherbots:
    The 7 minute film opens with a Silicon Valley CEO-type delivering a product presentation to a live audience a la Steve Jobs. The presentation seems innocuous enough at first-the presenter seems to be unveiling some new drone technology-but takes a dark turn when he demonstrates how these autonomous drones can slaughter humans like cattle by delivering “a shaped explosive” to the skull.The audience eats it up, clapping and laughing along with the CEO as if they hadn’t witnessed anything more dangerous than the unveiling of the iPhone X. The CEO goes further, showing videos of the tiny killer drone in action. “Let’s watch what happens when the weapons make the decisions,” the CEO says, as the bot executes a number of people on the massive screen behind him. “Now trust me, these are all bad guys.” What follows is a deeply unsettling portrait of a dystopian world where these small weaponised drones use their onboard technologies-“cameras like you use for your social media apps, facial recognition like you have on your phones!”-to make autonomous decisions about who lives and who dies.

      Ya, just watch combat on the Ukranian/Russian front. It's suicide drones. It's so bad, that the tank divisions have built what are called "cope cages" around their tanks to try and defend from the drones. Some of the cope cages are literal barns or sheds; seriously, they're mobile sheds now with a tank barrel sticking out of them. It's crazy.

      Pocket EMP devices can work pretty good. Other means of disabling facial recognition, which involves connecting to some sort of server wirelessly, can be stopped by ECM devices that jam all frequencies of communication. It's not terribly hard.

    • @MrSaszeta
      @MrSaszeta 5 лет назад +69

      What if we build a gaint cage that emits an electromagnetic field that disrupts communication in the outside world? Or a just emit a jamming signal, even now some antennas are powerful enough to cut off the drone from its controls?

There's no way once these exist, if they don't already, would ever be used for good. It's been proven time and again people LOVE power. And they will hang on to it at all costs. An invention like these would give way too much power to any one individual. It just chills my blood to see so many people in the comments joking about this. These can be made water-proof. As you said, water doesn't compress, so not only is that going to destroy the missle, but the shockwave is going to propagate out in every direction from the impact, which will significantly reduce its energy over a relatively short distance.

      @@krishanubanerjee6955 If you want all the processing done on the drone itself, then sure. But with a high speed low latency connection it can be controlled by a computer from far away. And 5G provides just that. The drone can have just minimal self control for stability while the computer controlling it is not limited when it comes to hardware and power use. GPU on the computer can analyze the video stream and figure out where to go and even how to avoid obstacles. Add a solid-state LIDAR like in some iPhones and you have a 3D map of the environment for perfect accuracy.
      An example of (some of) this already exists in the DJI Tello drone. It doesn't even have a controller. The only thing it can do by itself is remain stable over a spot vertically and horizontally (using a down-facing camera and an IR sensor) and send telemetry back to a phone over a direct WiFi connection. The phone does all the required thinking based on the telemetry from the sensors and then it can do all sorts of things. You control it via virtual joysticks on the phone screen (or you can plug a game controller into the phone and it becomes much better).
      Since the API is open, 3rd party apps for it are better than the official app and the programmers have already added functionality that no one could have predicted. I talked to one of them. Main limitation was the computing power of the phone. But eventually he added face tracking anyway... So you don't really need miniaturization to do it today. The scary part is how cheap it is.

      The use-case for these would quick-strike surprise attacks, not search-and-destroy. You're talking about mission that last 1-2 minutes tops. They're kamakazi, so recovery isn't an issue, and targets left alive after two minutes would be considered escaped anyway. You're not ending anyone's career I'm afraid.

      @@z-beeblebrox Sure dude, it's not like these drones carry a very heavy load, move really fast and have to chase moving targets. I'm sure we can slap on a 1000mAh battery on these bad boys. Notice how in the film the the terrorists unleash the bots a couple miles away from the city to avoid getting caught afterwards. It would be the same here. They'd have to move along for quite large distances relative to their size and battery size. You're not ending my career I'm afraid.

      @@GainsGoblin Why are you ignoring the larger drones that carry the smaller drones as a payload? The precise means by which they are projected to the killing zone is irrelavent anyway as long as it is possible to do it. You aren't suggesting moving a few kilograms to a building is impossible, are you? Every aspect of this attack is extremely easy to carry out and is inexpensive.

      @@jwadaow The larger drones would be shot down. The size and cargo requirements would make them easier targets. And drones would probably be assumed hostile and illegal and engaged on sight by law enforcement the moment this kind of widespread terrorism using them took place.

Every single Republican is dead, not just the politicians , but supporters as well , make a post on social media supporting republicans or expressing sympathy at their sudden tragic extinction and a drone will be buzzing towards you. So watch what you post , watch what you say, and do what your are told OR ELSE.

      Potentially yes, frankly. There are articles out right now about reporters in Africa who are leery of talking over the phone with people who have witnessed US airstricks, on the basis that simply talking over the phone about them might put them on the list of a monitoring algorithm that might select them as targets.
