- The infamous Slides are open! www.whiteface.com/mountain/slides Beacon, shovel, and probe required. Watch the whole thing here. Hike in on top and then glide down Slide Two all the way to the Summit Chair. 13 minutes of pure heaven.

Skiing the slides is on my bucket list.
It should be skiing the rumor
@@shrsherk_rblx2537 it was on mine but took it down now just slide
Can you go off the actual summit? Lol
@@ippolit4262 thats what i want to know
13 minutes of pure heaven. Proceeds to navigate around slab of ice that covers the entire width of the trail...
Welcome to the east coast
This music sounds like the soundtrack to a vasectomy.
Ok so this guy did it in 10 minutes and on his skis, i have a felling if i tried this it would take a couple hours and with me on my butt
looks like heaven!
nice run!! great snow! looks like a pretty neat spot
Its a tough Adirondack Mountain.. "It's a Man's Mountain man" and fun!
Some heavy ice there at one point
@sandradee859 The description is "slides are open.." So yes. they are open. But you need avalanche gear.
Now, that's a slippery slope!
8:40 haha...legitimately impassable frozen waterfall. I want to try the slides sometime, but as a snowboarder, some of these ice sections look unmanageable with one edge.
Be careful, now; it's a slippery slope (literally)!
Great video with some solid skiing. Which chute is that? The Slides are on my East Coast ski bucket list, but that particular chute looks pretty gnarly and not so fun. Definitely an adrenaline rush though. If and when The Slides open next season, I am making the 5 hour drive down in the hopes of catching a couple of runs.
"gnarly", and "adrenaline rush" is the right way to describe it; it's a doozy of a slippery slope!
Send it off that ice!!
My father designed and installed alot of those lifts.
No fall zone steep?
Whiteface is in WILMINGTON...NOT Lake Placid. Don't get it twisted!
Adirondack Patterns no it's in lake placid I live right next two it
@@bodecurilla9528 l am from europe, l went about 10 times to whiteface. it is in wilmingotn. Lake placid is 10 milles form mountain. Why you lie? what is the point. you have sign when you coming to mountain wilmington home of whiteface
sale yuga I thought whiteface was in Lake Placid as well, but only because Lake Placid is so well known from the Olympics, and Whiteface was the mountain used for the Olympics. I never heard of Wilmington in my life and I went to Whiteface this year. Don’t think they were trying to lie lol take it easy goof.
Did anybody ask?
@@bodecurilla9528 no you don't, because it's in wilmington
i dont know about that. look at all that ice haha.
that footage made me a bit nocuous
That looks really shitty, rocks and pure ice dodging? Nope.
I snowboarded the slides and almost died
what is the song and artist used in the video
i think it is called "I am a wannabe steep skier"
Sounds like Poocid... I mean Lucid...
Liked the sking but the music sounds like something to put on if you want to make out with your girlfriend.
FIRST COMMENT LOVE WHITEFACE
....as usual, "Ski" Patrol and there friends tracking out the slides.
Kevin LaDue most are volunteer and mean good, give some respect
man come on. This looks like a great time, but that's a double black really? I guess the icy patches might make it so, but they seem pretty readable. I don/t know. It might be the closest to double black in the east, but that is really not steep at all for the west, not to mention there are really no obstacles other than ice patches still id love to do it. I wouldnt invest in avy gear for it so id either be breaking the rules or have to pass unfortunately
daniel gally gopros never do any run justice. The wide camera angle makes everything look flatter
if you saw this in person youd shit yourself looking at it
this is steeper than the olympic slalom course they use for nationals now just down the hill
Yeah no mate i just came from out West, even if slightly less steep the ice makes the grades match. Northeast ski areas are almost all very icy as it is, this having the nicmname "iceface" to add, come try it. You should be able to bomb it.
western skiers get to learn by hucking cliffs and landing on their asses. eastern skiers learn by skiing WITHOUT mistakes.
out west nobody knows what "tight trees" really means, but are more familiar with the potential for 1000' uncontrolled slides--
find a video of paradise at mad river
staircase or pumphouse at jay
red line at magic
funny, because you probably waited an entire season for this single run. Meanwhile in literally every west mountain state this would be classified as a poor to mediocre run. lol.
waited the entire season and it is still a joke
its 42 degrees at its steepest point, every west mountain would classify this as a black diamond or higher.
Mouse Spidelflaufen yeah, definitely. You're right. What I meant is the snow conditions would be considered mediocre at best. The slides are neat terrain just being in NY they don't get that much snow
Mouse Spidelflaufen well the video surely doesn't show anyone skiing anything even close to 30 degrees
Don Cabron dude that's just not true. look it up before you talk bullshit
Boring!!!!!
