Remote starting your Atlas is easy.
Does a 2019 vw atlas se require the extended range kit if you want to add on remote start?
Or can you just buy the relay and a new 4 button key fob with the 2x button?

Thank you for this instruction. I have a question on another topic. When the car is on, can it be remotely locked from the outside? Sometimes I just want to jump out with the car on and keep the a/c running and lock the car until I return in a few minutes. This has worked on all my cars except for this VW Atlas. I have the 2023.

I have the 2019 Atlas. I love the car itself, but I am NOT happy with the remote start. I have to be so close to the vehicle that it does not benefit me to use the remote start. There are no battery issues, I was told at the dealership that I could purchase an "extender". I asked how much to buy the extender, and I was told the cost plus labor was over $800!!!! When I purchased the car, I was NOT told that the remote start had "limited" ability/range or that the "extender" was an option. When I purchased the VW Atlas, the only two features I wanted were heated seats and remote start.
I’ve always had issues with my remote start for 2019 Atlas. I read somewhere that you can accidentally put it in valet mode. Do you know anything about this or how to fix it?

I have a 2021 atlas and today it didn't want to start the engine remotely. what would be the reason ?
Way to many , low coolant , low oil etc look for anything out not working properly

No, VW has not done anything with subscribed features.
@@vwguru I was recently look for atlas 2022, SE with 4motion and it says 3 years free of subscription, which means after 3 years you have to subscribe to use remote start, Could you explain this?
@@huongyn8808 thats only on the vw app. You can continue to use the remote start on your key fob.

Does this only work with the atlas or does it work with the cheaper model jettas
This works on Atlas, Tiguan, Taos and Jetta. It DOES however depend on model year and trim.
Do you know how to lock the car with it on?
No way to do that. I instead remote start the car as I am walking away from it. It will run for 10 minutes before shutting off.
I bought my atlas 1 month ago and started having an issue with remote start. It not always works. Is there a recall for this?
Its a 2022 atlas se
There is not a recall on remote start at this time. Common issues for remote start: Make sure that you hit the lock button TWICE on the fob and you should hear a honk. Then immediately after hit the 2x twice. It will then start and run for 10 minutes and then shut off. Things that will prevent remote start from working: Check Engine light, or Fuel light on. Also if any of the doors or the hatch are slighy ajar, the remotes start will not work.

@@MrPearl-py5gp They had to reset them at the dealership. Anyone that is in the market for an VW Atlas stay away. Im also having an issue with squeaky break pads. The car started making noice about a month after purchase.
I have 2019 is not working
If a check engine light is on, or a fuel light is on, it won't work. Also, if one of the doors or the hatch is not fully closed and latched, it won't work.

This isn’t relevant for a 2022 my remote fob has an info button on it not a lock button
Different fob. What you are describing is an extended range remote start fob. That is a factory added remote start for a vehicle that typically does not have a standard remote start.
it's not working in cold weather conditions, I have cross sport 2021 and won't start when it's more then -20c
