After reading the report and seeing all the evidence, I asked the same thing.. and apparently, to be charged federally (i.e. by the DOJ), he would have had to traveled across state lines with the minor or she would have had to travel to him from another state, otherwise it’s a state issue.. and the only reason he can’t be charged in Florida for statutory r@pe is because the statute of limitations has expired.. In this case, you can’t take a lack of criminal charges to mean “he didn’t do it!”..

I am a republican and a retired army officer. I agree with Steven A on the Secretary of Defense nomination. I have a similar background to P. H., possibly more enhanced, and I too am not qualified for this position. Honorable service should be 1 of 1000 criteria for such an important position. I know many individuals who are significantly more qualified. The P. H and M. G nominations create concern that is unnecessary when there are more qualified individuals available.

But my counter to that is we constantly elect politicians to positions of power where they themselves have no relevant experience. For example, congress is in charge of making legislation for business regulations in spite of the fact that most of the people in congress have zero business acumen whatsoever. Yes, some have degrees, but no actual experience in the complexities of building and operating a business in the private sector at all. Our government has never been about who has the best resume for the job.

I am a republican and a retired army officer. I agree with Steven A on the Secretary of Defense nomination. I have a similar background to P. H., possibly more enhanced, and I too am not qualified for this position. Honorable service should be 1 of 1000 criteria for such an important position. I know many individuals who are significantly more qualified. The P. H and M. G nominations create concern that is unnecessary when there are more qualified individuals available.

There is a reason why Trump doesn’t want background checks on his nominees. Congress would be amiss to allow such a thing to happen. We must also remember that Elon Musk does not have top security clearances for a reason. So it’s not surprising that they are trying to eliminate background checks. When it’s eliminated for all then Elin has nothing to worry about.
I understand Stephen’s issues in terms of the experience of running such large government operations. But my counter to that is we constantly elect politicians to positions of power where they themselves have no relevant experience.
For example, congress is in charge of making legislation for business regulations in spite of the fact that most of the people in congress have zero business acumen whatsoever. Yes, some have degrees, but no actual experience in the complexities of building and operating a business in the private sector at all.
