wow great video seriously my favorite video on RUclips right now so cool seeing a link-belt LS 98 yarder interesting boom that they fabbed up for it. I have a friend that used to work for Ian be logging just kind of cool that they're out there. I hope you get more video of this operation cuz that is really cool little outfit
I was going to say something about the guyline being slack but short yarding and pecker poles says it all. I hooked on a big old Skagit grapple yarder. Can't remember if he model number anymore. It was so heavy we only put the guy line out on long roads. The wood was much bigger too.
Hey Daniel awesome video! I always like those ls98. It is great to see small company like that stay productive with old equipment like that when other companies would either scrap it or put it in there bone yards. How many guys were in the brush during this video 1 or 2? Thanks again Daniel for the great videos!
Thanks for that buddy, 2 guys in the brush I’m supposed to head back up there in a day or two and take some more video and maybe crawl around out in the rigging ?
hey bud.if you ever run into a electronic chocker could you show and explain what an how they work.ive never seen one before.thanks .have a good one bud.stay safe and take care of yourself.✌️🚛✌️🚛
As much as new stuff is nice, I'll never like it as much as a nice piece of old iron still out working for a living instead of rusting back to Earth. There used to be a lot of those LinkBelts around here, but not many left and even fewer that are still in daily use.
Still work with one everyday but mine is set up a little better then that I do dig he is running it with little to none on the gybacks hard on hook rolls tho
@DanielBoonesloggingvideos I'm in north idaho cda area I've never seen a boom like that before. I'm not sure what the boom is called on the machine I run but its bigger and the guy lines run up through the boom and back its a good machine pulls hard and fast
@@noahjames4445 right on, they are good machines, this one has a custom made boom from the outfit that had it previously. Manke lumber from shelton wa. ill be keeping an eye on your channel for any new vids of that Linkbelt yarder. Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year Noah.
@@DanielBoonesloggingvideos you as we sir I'll be watching your vids like I always do buddy if you message privately ill give you my phone number and we can talk about makin a video possibly
That guy line looks a little loose for it being the only guy line. That's gotta be a fairly profitable little yarder side, can't be a whole lot of your front investment and they look like they are getting logs just like the new expensive stuff
haha it was attached to a tree that pulled over, so it was pretty much just there for looks.yeah these guys are holding their own here, pretty good bit of gear lots of maintenance done to keep it up to snuff
yeah that is a good point. im not super savvy on maki carriages but from recollection they didnt normally come with a brush bug. i saw one outfit with a maki brush bug and it was complicated . been around quite a few places that had maki carriages and the yarder engineer controlled it from the cab.
Love the sound of the Detroit's
Good sruff there, nice to see the old girl still earnin. Stay safe!
That ole iron was gettin right with the program
Great view and video !!!
Cool lil yarder
Back of that fmc, moves a lot wow..
oh yeah ive got another video of it on its tippy toes.
Their guy line is slack.
Great old Classic working side
That’s what I’ve been thinking too all old equipment and still making their owners a living. But not without lots of maintenance !

wow that would have been cool to see. where were you logging at with the skagit ?
So did link belt actually make a yarder like that, or was it made into a yarder from crane?. Either way its a cool machine
Made from a crane into a yarder.
cool set up !
thats what i was thinking pa ! how are you and mammy doing ?
good dan hope all is well with you& your fam !
Doing great ! just putzing around here and waiting on our baby to perkilate some more, he is due early August.
Had a friend sell a nice little 98 for scrap around ‘08 downturn
wow too bad, i really like those machines !

Man you dont see many of those working with a low cab anymore...
Yeah I’ve never worked around them before but man it looks cramped in there !
Daniel Boone's Logging videos most all the ones skidding around here have the raised cab so you can see..

Son dan is the man....if he can't do it noone can
qual marca é esse cabeçote aí Daniel que esse harvster está usando?
Olá meu amigo. foi feito por ceto. agora pertence e é feito pela quadco
www.quadco.com/heads/harvesters/
Man in 08 I could have bought one of those at scrap $...was sad to know she got recycled...
Yeah logging equipment prices were down in the toilet back then, a lot of good iron went cheap or was scrapped
Sure spend a lot time in the brush for a guy trying to get away from it..haha
haha you are correct i love it but need to stay away from it
Daniel Boone's Logging videos .
Need and want....2 different things...lol

Isn’t that the truth of it too. Pretty cool to see it all in tact and working every day or almost every day 😉
Still work with one everyday but mine is set up a little better then that I do dig he is running it with little to none on the gybacks hard on hook rolls tho
gotcha, where are you at ? is yours still equipped with the young boom ?

Which sounds better? Is it the rigging singing through the brush or I’d it the jimmy in the get some mode? Beautiful music brother!,,,
haha you have a good point there. both a melody for my ears.
Why don't they just swing the turns in. It is a swing yarder.
I remember him saying there was a problem with the swing functon
Haha "postage stamp
yeah bro i love that term

Why only a yarder bug? That doesn't seem too safe.

This business is actually profitable running this slow?
not much lift and in a draw.
Manke built
Traders too close to bank. No landing .hard to work for no reason
For maximum deflection.
