Michel Camilo feat. by WDR BIG BAND - Repercussions | REHEARSAL

Together with the WDR Big Band under the direction of Michael Mossman, Michel Camilo performs his musical piece "Repercussions", arranged by M. P. Mossman. For the concert "Spirit of the Moment" at the "Klavierfestival Ruhr" (2015), the WDR Big Band has other guests on stage besides Michel Camilo: Lincoln Goines (bass), Cliff Almond (drums) and Eliel Lazo (percussion). Solos were played by Johan Hörlén on alto saxophone and and Shannon Barnett on trombone. Produced during June 2015 at WDR Studio 4 in Cologne.
You can always hear it clearly in his piano playing, - Michel Camilo comes from the Domenican Republic. He prefers to move casually at the intersection of jazz and Latin-American influences. In addition to the dance-like lightness, it is above all the Caribbean richness of sound that characterizes his piano playing and also his compositional technique.
