    GOLD WING AUTOMATIC DCT
    powersports.honda.com/street/touring/gold-wing/specifications
    PERFORMANCE
    ENGINE
The Gold Wing’s horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine is famously smooth and powerful. The latest version is an 1833cc design that’s over 13 pounds lighter than the previous generation (more than 8 pounds for the DCT versions).
    STANDARD ON: ALL TRIMS
    ALUMINUM CYLINDER SLEEVES
High-strength aluminum cylinder sleeves help reduce weight, increase cooling efficiency, and reduce engine length. The 73mm cylinder bore and short, high-strength crankshaft also help make the engine more compact.
    STANDARD ON: ALL TRIMS
    UNICAM CYLINDER HEAD DESIGN
The Gold Wing’s engine uses four-valve, Unicam® cylinder head design. That improves engine performance and power, and also contributes to the engine’s weight reduction from its previous generation. The four-valve per cylinder design is also a big part of the Gold Wing’s superior fuel efficiency.
    STANDARD ON: ALL TRIMS
    7-SPEED AUTOMATIC DCT TRANSMISSION
The Gold Wing is available with a revolutionary 7-Speed Automatic DCT. The shifts in this version are faster and smoother than ever, and the overdrive seventh gear is perfect for highway cruising.
STANDARD ON: GOLD WING DCT, GOLD WING TOUR DCT, GOLD WING TOUR AIRBAG DCT
    SLIPPER CLUTCH
We’ve given our manual-transmission Gold Wing models a slipper clutch, just like our premium sportbikes. It only makes sense-the 1833cc engine delivers tons of power, and the stellar chassis lets you ride this Gold Wing like a sportbike. Twisty roads? Bring ’em on!
    STANDARD ON: GOLD WING TOUR
    DOUBLE-WALL EXHAUST PIPES
You may think this is just for cosmetics, but on a hot day single-wall exhaust pipes can throw off a lot of heat. The Gold Wing’s twin-wall design keeps things cooler. Plus, this is the best sounding Gold Wing we’ve ever built!
    STANDARD ON: ALL TRIMS
    FUEL EFFICIENCY
Because the 2022 Gold Wing is light, you’d expect it to be fuel efficient. But its weight is just the start. Combined with the bike’s engine, intake system, and four-valve design, estimated fuel economy is up 22 percent from the previous generation.* Want to really squeeze the last mile out of every drop? Try the “Econ” ride mode setting.
*Honda's fuel economy estimates are based on EPA exhaust emission measurement test procedures and are intended for comparison purposes only. Your actual mileage will vary depending on how you ride, how you maintain your vehicle, weather, road conditions, tire pressure, installation of accessories, cargo, rider and passenger weight, and other factors.
    STANDARD ON: ALL TRIMS
    WALKING MODE
All Gold Wing models with DCT transmissions feature “Walking Mode,” which lets you creep forward or backward under power at a walking pace. Think how easy it will be to get in and out of tight parking spots with a fully loaded bike. It’s another great example of Honda technology working for you.
STANDARD ON: GOLD WING DCT, GOLD WING TOUR DCT, GOLD WING TOUR AIRBAG DCT
    CRUISE CONTROL
Of course the 2022 Gold Wing still features cruise control-it was one of the first touring bikes to offer the feature. And with our advanced throttle-by-wire system, it’s better than ever.
    STANDARD ON: ALL TRIMS

I am 57 and when I am on a Sport Mode on my DCT, I feel 19 again. No joke !!!! Many times, I get up early, on the weekends, hop on a 4 lane HWY and do 100 in Sport for few good miles, no cops, no cars, fully geared up and I am in heaven. I come back home like a new 19 year old man. You just do not feel you are on 2 wheels!!!!!! Just incredible machine I have ever had. This is my first GW ever.

@@afrancois1968 You will love it. Remember that DCT is not for everyone. Some crazy for it, some adopt as they own it, and some switch to manual. I don't see myself ever going back to shifting. The fact that we have the option for semi shifting is priceless. I use it too. Also, make sure the dealer check the final drive oil level. Some reported low oil level. Moreover, strongly recommend you to warm up the engine on a DCT, before riding. Just 5 mins or so. Happy and safe riding.

Funny you saying don't wait till you are 60. I'm 59 and I just paid a holding deposit on a 2022 Honda Goldwing Tour DCT 2 hours ago. I wanted one since I was 14 years old which was 1976 when I first saw one.

If possible, please post with no music. It's really cool that you shared the experience but most of us would like to hear the bike and how it revs relative to acceleration.

I was riding my 650 yamaha for years, 2006, then I went and get the goldwing dct on 2018. It was intimidating the first week. But right it an amazing comfortable torpedo. I love. I rode my 650 the other day and it felt it was going to.fall apart. This is a wonderfully bike and I think I just spoil my self.

The difference between a big cruiser and a typical street bike is like another planet. I have a Harley Road Glide that weights 800 pounds like the GW, but feels like nothing at all once it's moving. The GW takes smooth to a whole new level. There's nothing like it.

These bikes can really rip for touring bikes. Plus I’ve found Goldwing riders to be quite considerate riders.

Yes it is, I've really enjoyed it! Still most people buy one of these after 60 years old 😁 perhaps the price it's an important factor. Is it possible that they'll not gonna produce it starting from next year?

My 2018 Wing is the best boring motorcycle I've ever owned. They are not powerful or fast at any level. It follows Honda's formula of overweight and under powered to a "T". It will eat miles like a kid eats candy and is smooth. It's a world class wife taxi,,,, nothing more.

    • @IdealBike
      @IdealBike  2 года назад +3

Nicely described, appreciate your comment. Still, let's face it, no one likes the idea to stay in service for issues, so at least for me reliability it's an important buying factor. Indeed there are compromises. Is exactly like you'd like a young top model wife to be faithful and not to be desired by others 😁
