- The ALL NEW GMC Sierra 2500HD is finally here. Under the hood is a 6.6L Duramax Turbo Diesel engine producing 910 lb-ft of torque, and mated to an Allison 10-speed automatic gearbox. With the Denali trim the exterior and interior is brought to a higher level of fit, finish and feel. Did GMC do enough to make the Sierra 2500HD the industry leader?

Gus. The day GM hands you one of those giant infotainment screens put it in the dumpster. I like the traditional knobs and buttons. I can tolerate a small screen but what was put into the Ram is disgusting childish overkill. This interior is perfect as it is.

Love my 2020 2500hd Denali. The rearview mirror also turns to video mode out the back. There is also an optional safe in the console. Another plus is the def fill is next to the fuel filler. Also the phone charger in the console.
What you don’t realize is GM buyers love the dash layout (simplicity, ease of use, etc). Reviewers are the only people that want them to change it.
A buddy has a new Denali HD. What a truck!! I drive a 19 King Ranch, and I now regret buying it. Great review as always!

Joe, the 2500 HD is NOT a one ton truck. It’s a 3/4 ton truck. The one ton is the 3500.

The interior doesn’t stack up to Ram and even Ford has better bits and that’s the 2019 and I’m a Chevy fan.

My work truck is the new 2019 Silverado custom and I'm jealous of all the luxuries that Denali has. It makes cost as much as a house but those duramax motors will last forever.

Hello Joe, interesting video. This big heavy big car is so amanzing and powerful. I just have watched a video of Silverado 30 minutes ago , really both are great heavy pickup trucks almost similar. But i loved some good ideas like details inside the car, at second row sit. And the tail door Very interesting using it like stairs and hand support also. Awesome. I saw this feature in a big Ford Raptor. But this New model Sierra is better, I loved it. Very Good Job Joe. Thanks.

With the half tons there is no question ram has the best truck on the market, but when it comes to 3/4 and 1 tons, GM and ford throw a pretty good fight with their respective trucks. GM offers the best towing tech and the fanciest tailgate, ram offers the best non towing tech and interior quality, and ford offers simplicity and convenience. All of them are big ass heavy trucks, all of them have roughly the same payload and towing numbers, all come with big V8 engines (except the cummins but its still a 6.7). One thing that GMC needs to do desperately is get the production of the carbon pro beds up to speed and offer 8 foot carbon pro beds in the HD lineup, as THAT would be a HUGE selling point if your bed was rust and puncture proof on a truck actually meant for work
I personally would take a sierra if I was in the market for a 3/4 or 1 ton truck, although ford would be a close second. If I was going for a half ton depending on how much I tow/haul, it would either be a ram 1500 for less or a sierra 1500 for more.

Just ordered a 2022 3500HD Denali. Splurging for my midlife crisis. I am still driving my 2006 2500HD that I bought new at Dick Norris and still have it planning on keeping it and having both. Although Dick Norris is now Tasca, I still bought it from my buddy John Bruno there. Great guy and we have purchased 3 Yukons and 3 trucks from him. I want to know what color this truck is in this video. Anyone know?

I’ve worked on way too many Power Stroke 6.7 and Duramax 6.6 and both have just as many issues as the other, you just need to pick the problems you want to deal with. Cummins is the only reliable pickup diesel but it’s bolted to that junk FCA truck.

Also forgot to mention those arent reflectors on the wheel arches, those are functional directionals because the truck is so big.

@@RaitisRides I mean at this point they are function over form which is already a plus in my book. Also in an interview with the designers, they were not required, as the reflectors needed by law are in the headlamp modules. The directionals on the wheel arch are purely by choice

Went and test drove the 2019 GMC Sierra AT4 and "looked" at a 2020 GMC Sierra Denali HD. The AT4 rode jittery (yet powerful), the seats are terrible, interior plain Jane. The Denali HD...better overall, but as with the AT4, plain Jane interior and same crappy thin seats. IMHO, the exteriors and functionality of both are very good...but, the interior designers should have their heads examined. For the prices...prob great for some (they are capable) but, the interiors are a C- grade. Those chrome HVAC knobs? WTF? What a shame...
NOT RELIABLE but nice looking truck GM ALWAYS MAKES NICES LOOKING CARS " it already got the check engine light ? " 😂😂

Another moron who has no clue what hes talking about. All gm vehicles show a check engine light when the key is turned but vehicle isnt running. And not reliable? This truck just came out that's an impossible claim to make as their just hitting the roads. If anything gm HD trucks are some of the most reliable vehicles on the road, same basic overall design 6.6 duramax with 20 years of improvements and has proven to be a hell of a reliable engine. Ford has had atleast 5 different types of Diesel engines and finally seem to got it right with the 6.7 scorpion. Dodge blows trannys and diffs like it's nothing and has nothing but electrical problems but cummins is great atleast. Duramax engines 100% built in the US. Stop being stupid.
My 16 Denali 3500 is nothing but reliable!! Tows my 45 foot toy hauler like butter 💪🏾
lol "compared to the silverado the styling is a little more refined and tame" what a nice way to say the new 2020 Silverado is fucking ugly and whoever approved the styling of that was clearly on drugs.
But the exterior of the new Sierra HD is super sharp by comparison.

I've owned 5 different half ton trucks. Got this same truck but in silver back in January. My first Diesel. I cant even explain how awesome it is. The power is unreal, it seems like it never ends. The interior could be a little nicer for the price, but I like the way its laid out and the materials are durable which is the most important to me. I just paid it off last week, it hurt a little but you know what they say, "Buy Once Cry Once"!

Ford Superduty interior is not as luxurious but is somehow nicer. No idea why that is, but I feel like it is. I think there are too many rounded areas of the GMC and Ford is more angular and futuristic. Still, I am buying a new 2021 F350 or Sierra 2500 and I cannot decide. Decisions...decisions....

Ugly. Why no retractable side steps? Why such a small infotainment screen? The interior already looks old and dated. The styling people at GM need to be fired. There is way too much going on the body. KISS - Keep it simple stupid! They will continue to lose sales to Ram and Ford. I’m a die hard GM buyer, but I’m going to pass on this.

Don’t buy the new 2020 gmc or Chevy diesel if you snow Plow. I bought a 3500 denali with snow Plow prep. The first time plowing I get a check engine light apparently the slow Plow blocks so air flow sensor and turns on the light which puts it in a limp mode which enables possibly the lower but also the remote starter. So now I have a diesel in winter I can’t remote start. Also I had to take off the tailgate to put in a salter. GM doesn’t have any plugs like the used to to block off the power tailgate wires and the back up camera wires. So I had to tape them so they don’t corrode with the salt here. The big kicker is because I unplugged these which is common on a Plow truck the entire camera system now doesn’t work. These are 2 things I bought the Denali for. Gm can’t and won’t fix either issue and I have a fleet of trucks from Gm. Looks like I’ll have to go to ford. Also the 2020 Allison transmission isn’t an Allison. False advertising

Let’s be real Joe. You should’ve zonked that entire truck. I’ve never seen such a sad top of the line truck. Basic sunroof, way too much chrome, no interior updates except for the back seat storage (pretty cool) and a ton of dull black plastic. $76k....good luck to GM with that!!
Joe i just watched your video on both Ford 250 2020 and GMC, 2500 HD 2020.I noticed Ford had a huge Air dam at the front of the truck and the GMC did not,can you tell me why
Rancho shocks are trash and for people willing to look past the mediocre interior I believe those shocks have got to be the biggest disappointment in this otherwise decent truck.

Check engine light already on... we had to take our 2020 Chevrolet 2500 Highcountry back in the check engine light came on they had to reprogram it

This is not a fully loaded Denali. I have this exact truck. The tech is completely different. I have 19 cameras, full time video rearview, and the towing package along with with the auto towing mirrors and towing cameras is a standout. My rear seats are heated and cooled.
