Foreigners (exception of china\Japan) are most always stereotyped as being good at rapping even if Asian. I’ve seen it happen in many groups over the years & often end up being the rapper of their groups & it felt really annoying watching when that assumption happens, especially when that’s the position they ended up taking so it went right along with the stereotype. It’s not just black people on that one.

I very specifically said which stereotype I was talking about & it's wrong of you to do that.
You're being low key hostile insulting me like that for not liking that I said the rap stereotype specifically spans to foreigners in general when I never said or discredited anything else that was said. If you weren't so biased about the rap stereotype you'd have noticed other foreigners getting stereotyped with it numerous times in the past just for being from America, mixed, etc. & That's all my intention ever was, not about any of the other stereotypes.

i just don’t understand what is masculine about black women?? we’re literally the most feminine people on earth down from the countless hairstyles to the nails and clothes to dancing styles. it makes no sense to me how we are seen as manly because we have certain skin tones or features. not to mention black people and Asian people share similar features because of similar phenotypes which is why we can look like eachother 😭ik it’s antiblackness and colorism, but it also almost feels like Interalized racism within themselves. i hope one day these stereotypes can leave the k-industry, especially when kpop wouldn’t exist without black people
edit: for all the mad people in the comments, I really don't care LMAOO yall want black women to hate themselves so bad and for what?? you're just all weird and the replies are giving delusional koreaboos like I promise you Koreans won't love you after you defend them for your life, idk where yall got the idea that I'm calling all Koreans racist when that's not that case. in general, all non-black communities are antiblack and a lot of their standards are anti-black even when they dont realize it. the comments infantalizing these grown people who live in a society with the most ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY are so fucking funny to me, saying that Koreans don't know what racism is just bc they're korean😭😭yall live in this weird fantasy that east Asians are babies who can do no wrong and because you see them that way, you drop all morals and get pissed off at VALID anger or hurt only because you think your weird kpop idol fantasies will come true if you defend any east Asian at all costs which is xenophobic and pushing EA stereotypes further which harms the asian community, but yall wouldnt know that or even care to learn that because you only like the idea of this kdrama fantasy of east asians you have in your head and when its time to speak up about asian racism, yall are silent. like I promise you these mfs don't gaf bout me or you, why don't you put that energy into a job instead of arguing over black trauma and black pain because YOU are ignorant and choose to be mad

As a black woman, when people describe us as being “tough”, I understand they think it’s a compliment. But actually it along the lines of stereotypical and offensive because it brings it back to the stereotype of black women being more masculine with no emotions or feelings like we can’t get hurt or be emotional just like any other raced women. And as a black american woman, it especially is offensive because of how black women were treated during slavery as though my ancestors were not human, that we were objects, where they did all kinds of experiments on as well.

The angry black woman or tough aggressive black woman stereotype goes so deep and is even harder to get rid of. It’s sad.
Warning: y’all might be offended by what I say so please read it all and understand it’s MY opinion and it’s not made to drag anyone.💕💕
Edit: A lot is being said in the comments.
First off, Fatou is probably better at Korean than Felix from skz I’m not saying that to be rude. I’m saying that because she already had a career in Korea, was living there, was modeling, was friends with people there. Do not invalidate her time there but we also need to realise that it can be hard for cultures to accept others. Being ignorant however, that needs to be done with. We can all learn from each other.
Second off, their company has worked with a black female before. It didn’t go well. And for Fatou to be fairing way better than Alex and she’s a dark skin is absolutely amazing to me and I will always support her.
Third off, there was a comment about culture. “American” culture is new. And people will still argue that us Americans meaning the USA don’t really have one. It’s your opinion. But let’s not ignore the fact that “American” culture is built on the backbone of black, Indigenous, Hispanic, Jewish, Italian, Latino, and Asian cultures. And much more. It’s a mixing pot for a reason. So yes, there are certain things that some races and ethnicities brought to the table in term of culture.
2nd Edit: If my use of the word female, offended you, I am sorry. But it was not use in a negative sense. I refer to my own self as a black female or a black woman. For me, it doesn’t mean anything because the connotation is different.
    Once again, I’m sorry.
Edit 3: Felix is in no way shape or form being dragged. If y’all think that what I said is shitting on him when in fact it was true, when he started he was learning the language, that’s a problem. I never said “omg he’s so terrible he’s the worst he can’t speak the language.” I’m just pointing out that a Korean person was given less lines at first because of skills but eventually improved with the language and is fluent while a dark skin person who has been in the country already working got the comment that her Korean is not good. There was no hate. It seems as if every opinion someone will disagree but please see the connotation I used. You see an idol’s name not being used to get people to like them or point out talent and immediately think, “omg she’s hating.” I love Felix and have been a stay since the survival show. I know his Korean was not the best and THATS OKAY it’s called learning. I’m one that wants him to have more lines now, so you see why I kind of mentioned him along with her. And stop babying idols, especially grown people. If someone stated that I was not the best at a language at some point and it’s the truth, it’s not dragging a person, it’s making an observation.
At this point I’m sorry for offending y’all and shall soon stop responding to comments because I’ve already explained multiple things before. Just please don’t miss the main point 💕

Me, personally, I’ll always support Kpop, it really was an eye opener & a dream for me when I got into alittle over a decade ago. You can clearly see the different styles & genres influences that makes Kpop what it is, especially heavily on Today’s Kpop. I couldn’t live without Kpop🇰🇷🎶❤️🥰. Ngl I always thought being cute suits Fatou more. She's naturally so adorable w her mannerisms I was more surprised to see her tough side on stage lol. And let's not ignore how she's a multilingual queen and former model who can also sing, dance and rap, and I like that she is actually a GROWN woman despite only debuting recently. Not saying teens can't debut but we all know Kpop likes to act like you're ancient after 22 as far as debut is concerned.

This awareness and conversation is important. I’m so proud of Fatou, the first fully black idol speaking on this topic and seeing people stereotype you just because the color of your skin is tough and tiring. It’s really sad to see such negative stereotypes placed on black women in 2022, it can be dangerous to assume we’re so tough, even in unsafe situations when we need protection. We are just like any other woman. Black people don’t all act and think the same. I hope that more people can become educated and pass that knowledge along to stop the prejudice and stereotypes.

I’m surprised about the amount of cultural education the Koreans have. In school in the US I was definitely taught that in different countries, they have populations of other ethnic groups sometimes because of certain reasons. Like I wasn’t surprised by the Japanese-Brazilian ancestry Leia had at all. US education isn’t the best but I knew that much.

Ive been noticied that in general with korean channels, when theres a black person they always say theyre "tough/swag/etc" even when theyre just standing there😭.
ANYWAYSS basically when a black person, woman specifically, doesn't fit those stereotypes its "weird" to people because they expect us to fit in what the they see on the media.

    • @_cari__
      @_cari__ 2 года назад +9

No. Literally! Every time I watch Korean reaction channels the majority if not all the time when they see a black person they always describe them as “hip hop” “cool” “swag” and that’s it. Yet when it comes to a Caucasian or lighter skinned person they always comment “beautiful” “gorgeous” etc.. like??? Black people are also beautiful and gorgeous. They’re not just “swag” it’s so frustrating to watch since people always make assumption and use stereotypes.
