Your absolutely right. Navya showed grace, poise, dignity and empathy towards people in general which both the senior ladies lacked throughout. Shweta was right when she said she was opinionated. She was literally putting down her daughter on camera. And it's useless taking about Jayaji. I've still to come across a human more high-handed, brash, rude, having a mighty than thou attitude than Jaya Bachchan. She takes the cake. What a lousy character she is. Shame on her.

@@antoinettedsouza6162 the older we get the more we have this idgaf and yolo attitude. Older people have little or no filter, just like a 5 year old. They've got nothing to lose by speaking their mind and "how" to speak it. No decoration needed.
We've seen sathiyae hue cute buddhe dadu who are still endearing. But Nani and dadi have historically not been that way because it's a relatively new concept for having a 3/4th generation working woman. She's the example of 3/4th generation working woman, they have equal amount of experiences and perspectives like sathiyae hue cute buddhe dadu but sathiayi cute dadi who speaks her mind is a new and upper middle class/upper class concept, hence most Indians aren't used to it. We're used to dadis n Nanis being limited to being the understanding sacrificing adorable women who express their love to us by feeding us and telling us stories.

I am not from India nor do I follow Bollywood but I have to admit there was lot of substance in what Shweta mentioned. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea but I do agree with her. At the same time I also agree with Navya for pointing out social media has become a way of earning money for some people so it’s a balance you’ve got to navigate. Happy to hear what the 3 generations have to say. But I am really impressed with Shweta’s point of view and keen to see what Navya unfolds in her pod cast.

Navya is surprisingly patient and tolerant of her seeming domineering mother who enjoys putting her down in front of the whole world. I would have run away by now. Hats off to you Navya for still showing respect to your mother. Shweta should tone her condescending comments down if she can't stop herself from speaking in this derogatory manner towards her daughter. They take pride in the fact that they verbally attack her constantly. Toxic environment for a young girl!! Back off ladies

    • @meghnachoudhury1622

I believe that you're of a different nationality. So in India, it's pretty common. Our mothers sort of put us down and talk about our bad qualities all the time, when they're talking to masi Nani mami bua dadi, family friends, aunties. It's a common thing, rooted in the "nazar" concept. 😀 Actually in our country if a higher class kid is being treated well by parents, the middle class goes crazy and thinks that their kids are spoilt. So the privileged kids are not publiced praised by their parents specially, they know that their privilege is hated upon by the middle class and if they praise their kid, then the family will not be thought of as well cultured and "Desi". 😀

And Shweta must have never had to struggle for simple things in life like the common middle class ladies, so it's very easy to pass judgements.

Does Shweta really think that criticizing her daughter (almost incessantly) like the way she did in this interview is going to help the kid? Navya is 25, for god's sake! Treat her respectfully and like someone who can think for herself. Shweta needs to go take a Parenting 101 class, seriously. This is a common practice in India - to control kids, to treat them like they cannot do anything without their parents' haranguing them. Shweta, and Jaya too, would do well to go read Kahlil Gibran's On Children -
"Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you."

Aishwarya seems to come from family that allows at least her to do what she wants. Its not typical family that says getting degree and preparing herself for marriage is be all and end all. Aishwarya did do things(risky) from the beginning of itself and made sure she's responsible. Complete opposite is bachchan family dynamic.

Are u crazy. They’re the most disgraceful, shameful family in Bwood that hide their shame in falseness and dishonesty.....
-Sr. Bachman....had affairs even while married, alleged complicit in the death of a famous actress, 2 timed other actresses, income tax cheat.
-Jaya Bachchan...the hostile, long suffering, emotionally abused wife who hate’s everyone else and treats people like they’re dirt.
-Aish....reconstructed plastic bag, fake white, fake blue eyes, X hooker. Many affairs, tried to break Subash Gai’s home, affair w/father in law in hotel together for a week. Used nasty PR against actresses, Money laundering, tax evasion cheat.
-Schweta....separated from husband for yrs but pretends to still be together.
-Jr. Bachan....he and Aish did not get along for 7 yrs, she had an affair, he treated her like crap in public until he was called out. Amitabh forbade a divorce, for appearances sake and now they’re doing fake love.
-Navya....on boat, high on drugs and liquor dancing suggestively in a tiny bikini. Her businessman father started the business for her and his people runs it. He made her the face and have her show up with scripted speeches at events so he can save her partying arse and give her some credibility. Even her own mom and grandma reveal what a scatter brain she really is.
