Glad to hear the Hiller brand is coming back! I grew up less than a mile from the Hiller property in Atherton and am a member of the Hiller Aviation museum at SQL.
Great video! I just watched Capt. Tragarz’s final airline flight video on another channel with his wife aboard. Very cool. Thanks! And I also stumbled on a video featuring Maria’s 1997 anniversary Apple computer that she sold. Also very cool!
Thanks. I'm trying. The Virus is making it tough; the local fire base has very strict rules about visitors so I'm unable to even request a tour. But I'm trying!
Awesome video!! The camera position was great and the shakiness wasn't noticeable, thank you for your video! I wonder what the top speed of that helicopter is too
Went to the Hiller Museum.. LOVED the book "Vertical Challenge: The Hiller Aircraft Story"... and highly recommend it. Thanks for posting this video. Wonderful to see such a fine design flying and resurrected. Stanley Hiller was a genious. Why isn't there a movie about him?
BRAVA, Maria! A great look at a classic helicopter, about to rise from the dead. As a kid, I always thought that Hillers were sexier than the Bells. It's so nice to hear of their resurrection. And of course I LOVED the name pun that Stan Hiller gave his creation: "HillerCopter". Also had a model of the single person, ramjet-powered Hornet, a very intriguing design. Always wondered how they got the rotors to spin fast enough to power the ramjets...
Nice. You were in my hood! Looks like a takeoff from Hanger Haciendas, then northwest & over Dobbins rd, with a turn south down 51st ave towards the new 202, onto South Mountain. Very pretty and really cool. Hope you enjoyed!
Yes! I didn't want to get too descriptive in the video. (I don't think Mike needs folks knocking on his door.) I love the new 202 -- really a time saver getting from Mike's place to the East Valley.
It’s OK that there’s not a lot of commentary. I do wish I could hear y’all talk but we get it, logistics. There is a GoPro to his right, that recording? Would be cool to know the wind speed. Seems to be a lot of yaw in the vids.
Seems like a good pilot Maria! Camera was good! Hiller copter new for me, different from Raven or Beta! Maria won't be teaching, looks like I'll have to go to Hiller Corp.! :(
I’m a wheat farmer in the Palouse country of southeast Washington. Am working towards purchasing a helicopter to take instruction in and eventually use for aerial applications on my farm. From my preliminary research it appears Mr. Tragarz assertion that pound for pound, dollar for dollar, the UH 12 family of Hillers is the best value. Maria, do you know of any flying in the PNW that I might be able to charter for a good low level introduction flight?
Hillers? No. And while Captain Tragarz is sold on Hillers, I advise you to do your homework -- yes, it'll be less expensive to own and operate than other options, but it's not easy to get parts, service, and training. Whatever you decide, good luck!
@@FlyingMAir , thank you for your prompt and frank reply. I suppose Captain Tragarz is a good resource to address the concerns you raise, is he still with the Hiller Corporation? Can’t seem to find any contact info for him.
Believe it or not, I have fallen out of touch with Mike Tragarz, but I understand that he may no longer be connected with Hiller in America. The company is owned by a Chinese investment firm and he may have left them.
Hello very interested in the 12e you are building. We have Hiller uh12b but would be interested in buying a 4 place are you currently manufacture any ?
This is such a lovely helicopter and they have quite a distinct sound! Really enjoyed the video Maria. Definitely want to read more about the Hiller. By the way have you seen the Goonzquad have bought an R22? Looks like it will be a great project!
boy I know some ( rock hounders ) that would love to have you drop them off in a remote area to prospecting for turquoise ...... :-) in Arizona...... $
I had no chance to travel on this specific type but another small birdie. The trip was not scary at all, no shakes or sudden movements. It was an exciting experience.
It will be good if you give us the map of your proposed journey, before uploading the clip. . We are Indian & non american. We must know, over which city your passing over etc..
Love the old Hiller helicopters!! Always have 😊
🙏
Great to hear hiller is back at last
Smooth old heli thanks for your vid thanks
Very nice looking and smooth flying machine!! Always awesome to see Hiller content!! Keep em flying!!!
Constructive instruction tank you.
Maria, Man !.. that guy has got some serious toys on his property!
Enjoyed very much and ty for sharing.
I am the most fortunate guy you will ever meet. Truly.
He's not kidding, either.

Fantastic. Bet you have some great story's.

LOL. You're following me and my friends around the Internet. How cool! I saw the video of his last flight. It was great. So well done.
FlyingMAir You can’t escape from me! 🤣
Mike is responsible for me owning a Hiller! Which is kind of cool... Great that he is running Hiller Aircraft!
Your the man Pat.... thanks for all your support.
RNAS Culdrose Helston Cornwall UK, was there early 1960's when the Royal Navy were using the Hiller to train their helicopter pilots. Fly Navy
Love your content
Love the California Cactus!
Arizona
Love the variety of helicopters you're bringing to your channel!

Helo tops out at about 70kts. Drops 2 knots per 1000 ft of density alt.
Thanks! I think I hate jerky video more than most people do.
What a great flight, there's so much to see out there!

You are right on. Great helo. I always joke... if i thought i could get away with it i would "paint it green and slap a yellow deer on its side"..
Thats a nice quiet chopper
The footage was actually very good Maria for hand held - good job. Most interesting to see a different region. Thank you.

Love the old school heli’s , I’d love to live at residential air park 👍🏼
Great lifestyle. Hope your find your way to a park soon.
Very nice!
🙏
Very cool 😎
🙏
A 12E-4 is a pretty rare bird and it would be a dream to fly one. I wish there was a way to convince someone to let me fly theirs!
Love the idea of a residential airpark, unfortunately here in Europe, it doesn't exist. The USA is really the best place in the world for aviation.
Really cool 😁
Seems to have a very smooooth drive train to the rotor blades. Pleasant sound for the passengers....
It is... strong
Nice ride in the Hiller Maria. But I will be the first to say he needs a 360 camera. 😉😀
Well, if I play my cards right, he may take take mine on a 360° flight sometime this winter.
Hiller copters are so much like Bell 47!
I like! I've been to Phoenix in the summer. Very hot. What was the temp on this flight?
This flight was in February. It was probably in the 70s.
@@FlyingMAir √. I was wondering if you were in the Southwest and not in Washington. Tell the Captain (and you) good job!

Maria was it UH-12?
Is this a duel controls aircraft?
No. Only one front seat.
Ooooh Ok. Great video 👍😁
There are some landscapes under the helicopter as it flies a long threew the 1/ 2 of the video starting with AFTER take of from helipad

It would have been helpful if you had contrasted the Hiller A/C with similar types from Robinson and Enstrom, in terms of performance and price.
Take a look at our website. Data is posted. Hilleraircraft.com
Is it required to file a flight plan for those low-altitude trips?
No.
Vfr flts do not required a flight plan
Was the pilot in USAF?
Maria you were talking to him but it was inaudible! Very faint!
What is a spade you fly your helicopter
Speed about 60 t0 70 ias
Why the bumpy landing?
Let's hear from the experts, but my thought is downwash from the hangar nearby.
Just wondering if he is not flying too low if he should, heaven forbid, have an incident and have to auto rotate?
Maria, are you thinking about trading your Robinson to a Hiller?
Gosh, no. Mine's a bit more comfortable for me. You know -- leather seats, air conditioning, governor for the throttle.
boy I know some

in Arizona...... $
Looks like he fly's low. If it was me I'd like it a little higher I'd be nervous
It's a little low for cruising, but nice to be able to see what's on the ground.
I feel like I'm watching a video of our military flying over Afghanistan.
Not quite the low but great view
These little helicopters seem scary~
Not at all... very safe and stable
