Serpico is unique in that hes one of the only characters who isnt obsessed and in love with guts and can become his enemy really quickly.
Serpico Is such an underrated character, such an honorable warrior and one of the most skilled fighters in the manga.

My favorite character from the manga. He's also the only human besides golden age Griffith who managed to give Guts a hard time in a 1v1. That alone is badass AF.
How is Serpico a simp btw? He refused Farnese's advances - something an average simp would never be even in that position. Furthermore many think Serpico's arc is finished after his final duel with Guts. But I still think he had an arc to finish with Farnese. Though guess we will never know now. Serpico is one of my favourtite characters as well, shame it will never continue.

Yeah, I always thought that at some point Farnese has to find out about her blood relation to Serpico.
Here’s an idea and it’s either the best idea anybody’s ever thought of or it’s the worst idea possible.
Have alternate endings of beserk.
Not remakes. But continuations of where the story of the original manga artist ended.
Throughout the entire series there has been multiple highlights of the human condition and many different interpretations about those experiences. I definitely think that this could be a good point to start multiple timelines from the original ending into alternative continuations.
Depending on the dedication from the publishers the illustrators and the directions of the Artisanal Team….. it could either be the best idea ever over the worst possibility.
It’s not a bad business idea either.
The one thing you can never compromise on is its atmosphere its underlying message because that is a very soul of beserk.

My favorite male character that I can relate with. I prefer Serpico's over Guts style of fighting and living: he tries to prevent battle if it's possible but he is deadly when it's necessary. Guts usually starts battle ignoring everything else. He can put someone in danger because the war and fighting is his priority.

Like in the way you took serp's perspective... But I believe you forgot something (maybe I'm wrong) and it is he incredible sensitivity... When he was looking for Farnese he could feel on his back all the demons going over there almost seeing them... When he got the magic clothes I was a natural because of how he was "feeling" magic... He really is a cunning character. He is the only foil to fighters like Guts who utilize their brute strength.
You think he’ll ever tell her that they’re half siblings? I think he can be able to tell her now since she isn’t the same Farnese from the Holy See anymore.
Interested in knowing who everyone thinks is the more Chad character, Serpico or Roderick ?
Knowing what we know, I think Serpico might edge out just a tiny bit. But then again, Roderick's character background has yet to be revealed, and mos probably won't be.

You got one thing wrong in the thoumbnail. Honour and loyalty are the same thing. And Honorable man always has to be a loyal man, and a loyal man is an honourable man. Honour is called loyalty.

It's pretty whack how certain "fans" will call any male character a simp if he is committed to a female character and occasionally puts her needs before his own. It really shows the immaturity and lack of life experience that those readers have. It makes me question if they even have the intelligence necessary to appreciate the world of Berserk.

Why does everyone insist on saying "Farnees" when the pronounciation has long been confirmed as "Far-neh-seh". It's an italian name ffs.

You know the guy’s a badass when Guts thinks he’s skilled.
I love Serpico so much, he and Farnese are a good parallel to Guts and Griffith, if things worked out better. Miura knew what he was doing with that "you belong to me" line
With Trial by combat, it is always an honorable test of strength between the individuals to discern a conflict or decision. It's possibly the best way of figuring a dispute since time immemorial. For Serpico, enduring his loses honorably shows more about his character than someone who quickly gave into the despair... like a certain hawk we all know...

Serpico is just an awesome character. The fact that he put Guts on alert, makes me respect him. Guy is tough.
Me and my bud were reading Berserk together, every time Serpico appeared we made a "I can't see shit" joke...

I’ve just finished chapter 364, I can’t believe this is it, but if that’s how it ends with all 3 of them just looking at one another then so be it. What an amazing story, it really is my favourite story I’ve ever read.
I agree, there could've been worse moments for it to suddenly end.

My theorized ending is that Guts lost it & killed the others & himself after those scenes at the end of 364.
I imagine it was all just a build up to that moment when Guts would realize there is truly no escape; Casca doesn't recover sanity, Farnese is not kept safe, Serpico & Azan gets wrecked by Guts & Shierke is wounded in etheric form, trying to maintain Guts during astral projection.

That’s so sudden, I agree guts certainly isn’t going to stay calm, but he’s gone through so much, you think he’ll allow himself to hurt the people he loves now? I don’t think so. Guess it just goes to show you, no one could possibly do it like Miura.
Serpico is awesome and is one of my favorites. Watching his character progression from when he was first introduced until now has been great. I really hope the manga is somehow able to continue.

i always thought the parallel between Griffith claiming he owns Guts after their duel and Farnese claiming Serpico as her own after saving him was interesting

Serpico and Judeau share many similarities.
both are not very ambitious but follow and serve someone that bring them status and wealth. both have high awareness of their surrounding, both are jack of all trades, both have a easy going characteristic. both are intelligent and good at combat. and most important of all, both are blonde....

If the series had gone on, that Checkov's Behelette would have been his. He's basically the only logical and thematic choice.
And he would have ended up being a super bad ass along the lines of Irvine/Roxis. I imagine he would be one of the most difficult Apostles to beat.
That's probably why Miura was pushing him to the background so much. For impact.

The best way to survive is not be the strongest, but to be able to observe and adapt, which is why I love characters like Serpico.

If so, I'd put my money on Serpico: they seem very close in terms of swordmanship, but Serpico appears to be more adaptable and cunning than Griffith in a duel.
