Severe thunderstorm in Montreal - June 1st, 2013

A video compilation showing a line of severe thunderstorms that affected portions of S. Quebec on June 1st, 2013, including the island of Montreal. To facilitate viewing, footage shows thunderstorms moving closely towards my location at 7:01 into the video, with overhead impacts lasting until 17:35, including forceful heavy rains. Following 17:35, footage largely includes several bright flashes of lightning, and a couple of nice crawlers.
Thunderstorms were primarily governed by a strong low-level thermodynamic environment, consistent with steep low-level lapse rates (owing to ample daytime heating), weak mid-level lapse rates, and rich boundary layer moistening (dewpoints ranging from 18-20 C), yielding afternoon SBCAPE values as high as 2000-2500 J/kg. Strong unidirectional deep layer shear developing later in the afternoon-evening (due to the migration of the jet stream over the region) also supported organized multi-cellular thunderstorms. These factors prompted vigorous thunderstorms to initiate across E. Ontario and move quickly towards S. Quebec before subsiding slowly following mid-evening as they moved farther East. Severe thunderstorm watches and warnings were issued by Environment Canada during the late-afternoon. Some thunderstorms produced strong winds, heavy rains, pea-sized hail, and dangerous lightning. Thunderstorms were first seen on the horizon from Montreal's West Island around 7:15 p.m. EDT to the West. Localized power outages were reported.

Thanks for the footage and for the helpful and complete description! It was a big thunderstorm. Unfortunately, since I moved, I don't have a good view storms approaching anymore, so it's nice to be able to see the full thing in your videos.
