Hi Bayo, great job as always. Even if everything in that house works, the starkness of the outdoors is so off-putting. not a hint of greenery in sight. I love serene green outdoors. My family and I have this fav boutique hotel in Abuja where we lodge, Nordic Villa. I can literally sit outdoors sipping tea all day.
You did well , i travel a lot within so many countries and AirnB in Nigeria costing $125 / night with all this problems you’ve laid out, you are better off sleeping in the car with cool AC. Secondly , with $125 in Thailand, you will live like a king. Thats why ibadan is over priced. #6,500 hotel in lagos is the Best hotel in ibadan. The more you travel, you will draw the contrast in prices, amenities vs price you spent and quality. In conclusion , you will find the differences.
This is so annoying, why would I pay so much Nd nothing works 🤨! Sorry about your experience Mr Bayo! Management is one of our biggest problem in Nigeria.
It was the roaches for me! I personally would’ve turned back around and found a reasonably priced hotel to stay lol but kudos to you guys for sticking it out and making the best of your stay! 👏🏽
Bayo your review on this Air bnb accommodation is on point. I hope the owner will appreciate the feedback from a customer's perspective and invest more in customer service, health and safety practices to help improve services and gain competitive advantage in the Air bnb market space. 🙂🙂

Bayo, tnx once again for ur informative content. It's thru ur post I decided to use Airbnb for the 1st time cos that service not popular in Germany where I lives and works. The host is nice from the beginning but immediately after one moved in, u hardly get them on phone or text. I had to use my brother phone number to called my host surprisingly he picked it after a whole I've been trying to talk to him with no response whatsoever. I believe he picked my brother phone number call thinking its new customer coming. I guess its a bad culture in Nigeria mostly after they gotten what they expect from u as a customer, immediately u are already past to them. Once again tnx for the Indepth information and analysis!!!!!!
Had a bad experience with one in ibadan as well and paid $120 per night. Big ass roaches, talking about faulty internet for 2 out of my 3 nights stay, and she was still mad I put all these in the review after the stay, smh.
The last Airb&B I used in Lagos (Ikeja), requested that we shouldn't flush toilet tissues down the toilet! In other words, we should use water to clean ourselves in this 21st century when I'm not in the village! Can you imagine?
The fact is they build the house. Feel SO proud about so much so that they guesstimate a price that will « make sense » then they go seat down, and relax. Sure that they have DONe it all 😂 wahala dey oh
@@thenigeriannomad Thank you for the information! I’m very much interested. Who are the guests mostly ? Nigerians or foreigners ? Where in Lagos would you say is the best location for starting an Airbnb ?
Adedolapo your house is beautiful but this is business you can't collect $125 per night with poor service it is just a fraud he was there to spend a nice night and you ruined that.
Information about África America and África in diaspora, and the possibility of domingo something on project like morndernization of Sasa market at IBADAN etc
You deserve to get a refund Bayo. Airbnb business is very hands on in terms of maintenance. It's not enough to setup aesthetics & walk away. Cockroaches!!!!!!! I haven't seen one in years and it would certainly freak me out Bayo, the rating for this airbnb is definately way below 5
Some of the reasons I’m scared of Airbnb, after seeing a video of someone complaining of bedbugs 😳. At least with hotels, you can make complaints to physical people. That’s a reap off regarding the price without the basic amenities working.....NAIJA shááá!!!!
oooh you cant let one experience like this stop you. i have lived in many airbnbs that are excellent in Nigeria. I booked this plae very last minute. lesson learned.
To be honest , hotel in Nigeria should cost nothing more than $9 per night because , there are chances things will not work. If you cant afford Radison, Hilton , Marriott and Sheraton, other hotels does not meet Hotel standard . They are only operating without no regulation, Bayo i bet you the room Ac filtre is either Past due or never change because Ive seen many in Big hotels in lagos.
I was just about to ask for more details but not if the property has all those problems. Let’s hope they sort it out. A lot to pay if the basics are not working and cockroaches?? Hahaha
@@thenigeriannomad - A reduction in price, is the only fair compromise. Because you guys enjoyed some parts of the accommodation.... Customer service is a massive issue in Nigeria. People do not have that good manners of approach.

That’s what scares me most about starting a business in Nigeria. Inept employees who will ruin your business with their bad customer service.
It is a BIG problem. This is why recruiting the right person is extremely important. Due diligence has to be done on the person.

125 dollars a night for Ibadan
Thanks for watching
Thanks for the transparency!
Always!
It happen to me when I went 2019, most hotel management are arrogant and wont accept their mistake.
standards are just different i guess
Yes, all they care about is their money.

Right ??? You still need to maintain the functions of this beautiful space
For $125 per night, one expect better amenities and definitely no cockroach.
I know right??
With everything working no more than $60 / night IMO
thats fair.
Any idea on the kitchen designer looks good
No idea. the kitchen design is awesome
Is it worth looking into this type of business in Lagos for example? How many people actually use AirBnb in Nigeria?
in LAGOS. Airbnb is BIG business and a lot of people do.

We lack maintenance, both the government and some private owners.
I am so frustrated by our potential if we get small things right
Management and truth is all that matters to me. If they promised a,b,c and don't deliver on them, its a wrap 4me
yep. I agree :)
That's a shame, such a gorgeous house...they just need to work on those things.
right ? so much potential
Why not mention that the owner wanted to refund you due to your uncomfortable experience. I think it should be included in your review

Hello!
Poor management, as usual, those guys need to be fired by the management. 125dollars imagine that!
Human resources development is becoming a necessity on this axis.

Just a smart way to earn from you after paying 125 dollars. Could be their trick. Next time be more smarter. Ask before you pay
Huh?
airbnb doesnt work that way. You could ask questions before booking but i wouldn't have known to ask if the fridge was working. ha.
Next time ask ooo especially if not in lagos. So you can ask for refund.
