This is such a good change. A couple days before the update came out I had 11 Million and wanted to have a break from grinding and get a drift car. The Tuner cars are really expensive so I ended up not getting one. But now u can get low grip on cheap cars which is amazing.
The Futo is my oldest drift car in GTA and I'm so glad it's got the low grips because it is so smooth. The GTX has more power and you can adjust easier but the Futo is satisfying. Maybe it's nostalgia
kind of a rare one to see but the Karin Sultan RS is a pretty good drift car with low grip tires, especially in the rain and snow, kinda hard to get used to because it’s awd (throttle control and using the handbrake is essential)it has one of the best drift body kits imo and plenty of other customization considering it’s a Bennys car. doing 360 entries is easy and recovering from spin outs is honestly pretty satisfying.
Ive been tryin low grips for a while (b4 the update) and I can say these cars are great for drifting: 1)Futo 2) Shafter V12 3) Warrener 4) Futo GTX 5) Glendale Custom 6)Yosemite 7)Nebula V Turbo 8)Apocalypse 380z 9) Hellfire 10) Oracle XS I know theres way more but those are my top drift cars.
My go to drift car is the nebula turbo. Put it on low grip tires and max engine or any engine upgrades and it slides so well. Very good for beginners and for experienced drifters. Is a bit slow but is definitely a great car
The Redwood Gauntlet was my main drift car for a couple years when I was playin with my drift crew back on ps4. It still is a trusty drift car but I have started to fall for the low grip drift tampa real quickly
The drift tampa can definitely slide, but I feel AWD drift cars don’t have as much control / finesse as most RWD drift cars since they can’t clutch kick too well
Great vid ! If you wanna try awd drifting, put low grips on the drift tampa without lowering it, it slides really good and feels smooth, i think a video on best awd drift car could be a good idea
Been using my future shock Imperator on lows and sometimes stanced though it doesn’t need it. With the boost and the jump you can get some mad drift combos
my two favorites for drifting are the drift tampa and the dinka rt3000. The drift tampa was already a beast without low grips but with low grips you can really chain those long drifts even more. The RT3000 is so good you can have bullet proof tires on it and stance it and still pull off amazing lines without needing low grips which makes it perfect for high speed drifting as well and just normal day to day use without worrying about sliding too much when doing missions and/or objectives as it still has good grip when it's not stanced. and the customization is the icing on the cake.
I highly recommend the sultan rs bennys car….amazing and no need to stance. Great steering angle out the gate. Slightly underpowered compared to the pariah, but good all around fun
Rat truck is hands down my favorite. Not a lot of angle, a total brat to get clean lines but it SHREDS high speed drifting soooo well when it goes right.
Literally the best drift car is the 350z arena version with F1 low grip, you can get good angle not to mention nitrous. Been sliding it b4 they allowed low grips
Great video! Sorry if I missed when I watched, but are you stancing the cars along with low grips, or do you separately choose low grips one time then stance another time?
Yo, far from me to try and teach the pope of GTA drifting how to preach. But as a complete begginer in gtao drifting, gotta say I had a ton of success with a fully tuned Jester Classic. A pro might find it a little too grippy still. But I managed to pull of all the basic training tips you give in your guide with much higher success than a Futo. Happened because I had one sitting unused for years in my garage. So yeah, it's a Supra, it screams drifting. So even though I wasn't getting far training with the Futo, I decided to give it a shot and voila. Still spinning out, still not entering corners correctly, but I gotta keep practicing. It's a ton of fun.
My recommendation for cars that have more power such as the banshee, mustang, charger/challenger etc. is to apply body armor on them. Usually the more power a vehicle has (especially for drifting) the more weight it has or needs. That’s just a recommendation though not saying you have to apply body armor, just letting y’all know what’s worked for me so far..
imo opinion the drift tampa with LG’s is the best drifting car in the game u can pick up high speeds with no trouble handling is unchanged and it drifts for hours
Thank you very much for the support! Generally I’d say max most of your upgrades, no brakes, no spoiler - but it depends from build to build and how you want to drift. Some cars might need different transmission, different tires etc I will make an updated guide on tuning cars to drift soon, so stay tuned!
Hey man, could you revisit the Comet Retro Custom as a drift car? Now that pretty much any car can have low grip tires there’s no need to stance it anymore and I’d love some feedback on it!
First of all - thank you for the support! For lowering, I stanced every car featured except the banshee because it has ridiculous oversteer. For your question on if upgrades matter, yes they do! I will make an updated guide on tuning cars to drift soon, so stay tuned!
I’ve been drifting since ps3 and gotta say rockstar made it easy in a good way like if new ppl never knew how to drift the old way now we can teach them easier and have a lot of fun also what map was that one with the trees looks cool
One car that I’ve found to be way to good at drifting since low grips were added to most vehicles is the Jester Classic, by far the smoothest handling drift cars in my opinion. Just wish it was faster, the main excitement for the low grips tho goes to the Elegy Retro, since Day 1 people have been clambering to actually drift the damn Skyline GTR.
I know you mentioned the benefactor schwartzer you had to lower but the other cars did you have to lower as well?? or did they do good with just the low-grip tires

Nice video. Have you tried the Elegy Retro Custom? I know it's an AWD but it really surprised me with it's handling and drifting in low grip tires and stanced
i tried it and i think its alright as an AWD drifter but hard to get much angle without spinning also the clutch kick is inconistent as u need to brake to engage it
I've been practicing my drifting with two different cars: The Drift Yosemite and the Picador. The Drift Yosemite has endless torque and endless wheelspin from a standstill, but it's great for practicing steering and throttle control when you feel like some serious power without the constant need to use the Handbrake (I've been getting great drifts without using the handbrake). The Picador is a great base level car to practice AWD Drifting. Just enough power to get into the 4W-Clutch kick drifts but not so much that you need throttle control up the wazoo. It sits at that sweet spot to go hard and just gas it, but that means that it's more oriented toward entry-level drifting rather than professional, as the experience lacks that extra edge it needs to go all the way. I need to get two more cars: one for high-power AWD and one car for just simple drifts without the need of power (I think the futo would be good for a cheap Drift missile).
