How to Build a 55gal Cement Mixer

- Опубликовано: 20 дек 2024
- Total cost around $300 Australian, to buy 1 for that it would not be able to do the capacity of this one. I still have to put agitators in and a few more bolts to the drum.
I will upload a video of it in action when i start using it.
Im no profesional at welding or metal work so anyone can give this a go.

Saya dari indonesia ,saya sangat menyukai ide kereatif anda . Jangan lupa buat lagi ide lainnya ,terima kasih maju terus
Long story. I was gonna buy one for 100 freedom dollars in the us on a classfields add. Showed up and he said if i helped him with some yard work, he would give it to me for free. I just turned 17 and dont have a car, working on a motorized bicycle, and showed up with my bike and a trailer out of 2x4 and old bike tires. Was gonna strap tie the beast down and bike it back 5 miles but he was nice and drove it to my place for free. Since he was moving, he gave me a bunch of other tools and crap too. So i spent about 1 hour digging up concrete pillar things and i got a standard cement mixer. We also talked about life and stuff/ sounds like a win win.
I plan on maybe mass producing concrete lamps with it and then try and sell them in the city....
Good luck mate if you work at it everyday you will succeed. Don't let people tell you otherwise and don't let them bring you down. Your already halfway there. Hope you do well and good luck.
You did good job but you are missing some parts inside. I don`t know what`s the name
maybe spoon or... for grabbing the concrete. How about chain or timing belt?
Thank you for video.
Good luck with that belt! It's either going to break, come loose once concrete debris enters the track or slip with the weight of the concrete!
You need an drive pinion gear and ring gear around the drum!
Had a few slippage issues with that but hey has served me well and is still going.
Your skill is awesome 😎
Thank you
Fantástico. Podria compartir los planos esta muy buena. Gracias.
Thankyou
awesome build. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks mate
That's an awesome drum mixer 🤙
Cheers mate
Great work. Thanks for the video.
Really great design would love to get an update on how your belt drive system has held up?
Thankyou. So the belt really slips on heavy loads, so it really needs that fixed but everything else worked a treat.
I do want to redesign it tho.
@@MattyMiranda Most all these videos they really have not tested them much at all, because I've built them and they break, I had to fix my small one like 5 times. It isn't great when the mixer breaks half way into the job! My big one (1/2 yard) eventually broke before we finished my house additional footing wall. Nightmare having to manually do small batches and hand spin it.
good job my friends
Thank you
What about the mixing paddles for the inside
Watch my follow-up video as I added them, then as I wanted to see how the cement sat in the barrel first.
Thanks for the advice, how much the engine has a horsepower
No worries, its only 1 hp
@@MattyMiranda thank you for replying
Thank you sir, i use your design by changing to lower height.
No worrys it was a bit tall but i had to fit a wheelbarrow under it.
Nice design!!
Thank you
Hello, Have you tested your machine with concrete?
If yes, don't you have too much trouble tipping the tank full of mixed cement?
I had no problem tipping at all a little belt slippage that's all. I have used it alot if you watch my follow up video you will see some of other pieces I added as well cheers.
Well , first off , good job well done....
Not to bust your chops , just hoping to help out a little... I see you said you had a little trouble determining dead center of drum bottom ...I don't see why , coz you had everything right there to find dead center , all you had to do was use it ...Before welding anything up to the drum finish the framework with the 4 rollers first where they all make contact with the drum ...Lay the drum in the roller cradle & slowly rotate it by hand while you take a sharpie taped to a stick & mark dead center as it spins like a lathe ... A concrete block, one stick , duct tape , & a sharpie & you have the most accurate center finder you could ask for ...By the way , I saw this other guy solve his warping tin bottom problem..... He measured the drum bottom inside dimension outside bottom of drum & cut a thick circle of plate steel out with plasma cutter , smoothed edges , set into outside of bottom of drum lip of drum & welded it solidly in & afterwards attached his axle hub ...And it would sound a LOT QUIETER if you used pneumatic rubber tires for support rollers instead of those hard noisy plastic ones .... Could use 2 or 3 agitating paddles to help with the mixing though , it would mix it up a lot faster that way .... .Great job on what you designed & built ....Yours works , & looks like it should work very well......👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👋
Thank you for the tips much appreciated I can definitely use them in future projects.
I did end up putting agitators in and if you watch my follow up video you will see them. I just wanted to find were the cement sits in the barrel before adding them.
Thanks again
Why you have not continued with the practical usage.
Hello friend, what is the power of the engine?
Hey Mate, 1hp is engine power.
can you please tell me the length of the belt that you use?
Ill measure for you tomorrow
I measured it to be 950mm
It is a ball bearing which leads in the center to the bottom on the outside ?????
Yes its a car hub with a stub axle which they use on a trailer so very heavy duty and sealed bearings as well so they wont get cement in them.
Very smart mind sir n bravo.
The tilt adjustment could be made easier, in steps, so it is better and easier to adjust the tilt position. And so of course it turned out great
Sorry it did not translate.
Thats awesome got any pics
@@MattyMiranda unfortunately not. but there is a lot on the Internet. I just recommended it, if your work suits you, then why do something to redo it?)))
I am thinking about re making the cradle before i use it again i have an idea to make it sit lower and new wheels as well.

🔴 Islam is not just another religion.
🔵 It is the same message preached by Moses, Jesus and Abraham.
🔴 Islam literally means ‘submission to God’ and it teaches us to have a direct relationship with God.
🔵 It reminds us that since God created us, no one should be worshipped except God alone.
🔴 It also teaches that God is nothing like a human being or like anything that we can imagine.
🌍 The concept of God is summarized in the Quran as:

Nice project bro!
Thanks man
Is it 208L drum to the rim or cap?
Im not sure it was just on the label.
Good idea I am from Nepal
How much to make me one
I would love to make you one but postage would be so expensive
Very good Video my friend!!
Thank you
What's the motor specs?..can we adjust the speed to 7 to 10 RPM?... Very nice work u have..
Hi and thanks 4 the reply. I believe it would be better to use a pulley reduction to get your desired rpm out of the motor only because if you reduce it through the motor you won't get the h.p (horsepower) the motor puts out.
Motor rpm is 1330rpm 240v gives 1h.p. So pulley is a 14mm to the barrel of 580mm gives around 27rpm at the barrel.
Are there any structural plans? Would be very much grateful if you could send me a copy.
No sorry I built from scratch.
Ok, what of sketch drawings?
No drawings I just built it as I was going along. Feel free to copy off this video it should help a lot.
Can i know what type of alternator you used??
Motor i used was 1/2hp 240v
Okay tq
Very nice.
Thank you
is't there supposed to be something inside the barrel to mix the cement?
Yes agitators watch me follow up video I put them in for that video only water to see the way the cement sat in the tank before I added them
Nice design. But without fins inside it will not mix properly .
Parabéns gostei 👍 muito inteligente
what was the total cost of build?
Australian dollars.
Drum $0.00
Electric Motor 1hp ebay $135.00
Pully $30.00
Wheels $30.00
Bearings $20.00
Hub had laying around
Stub axle $20.00
50x50mm square tube $20.00
25×25mm square tube $20.00
Around $300.00 AUD
Most other bits and peices i had laying around.
Doesn’t it need an agitator inside to flip the cement over
Watch my follow up video it shows when i added the agitator and why i didnt install it.
Hello sir :)
How many hp of the dinamo?
1 hp ?

Good stuff... cost
Around $300 AUD
I will be bye this so how to I get it ...? I'm from Bangladesh
I wish I could send you 1 but the postage would be so expensive.
@@MattyMiranda how much is cost of posting and how much is cost by USD currency ..? It's very need to our country because professional mixture machine it's to bigger so and beside my place is to congested ......!!
I wish I could send it to you but the freight would cost alot of money. You can use my video and make one with your friends family community or schools.

Hi can I use part of your video to my compilation homemade inventions ?
Do i get a cut out of it.
@@MattyMiranda yes no problem :)
So how does it work do i just get my video views.
You can use my video if you want
@@MattyMiranda Thank You
Excellent !
Thanks man
the capacity?
Good question it fills a large wheel barrow to the top.
How does it tip into a barrow?
Hi i have 2 pillow block bearings on the stand that allows it to pivot. I will be uploading a follow up video of it in action.
I'm thinking of putting my mother-in -law in one of these and turning it on for a few laughs. Maybe not.
😂😂😂
Dear Mr Matty
Awesome workmanship it would have been much better if you would have known as in actual with the material working of the machine however excellent idea and your efforts which is commendable. I would like to add here to turn the material inside the drum you should have given some kind of rotator inside so that when it is rotating it will mix the material properly like a ribbon blade or something thank you.
Thanks for the subscription and comment. I did not add a aggetator in the video only because of the angle of the mixer. I needed to experiment with water only just to see where and the angle the water sits in the mixer. I have done this now and works really well. I will have a follow up video of some adjustments and the aggetators and it in action.
@@MattyMiranda Thanks a lot dear...

Can you make me one put all the parts and shipped to honduras ready for me to assemble and how much.
Hey mate thanks but it would cost a fortune for me to send to you. Build one yourself give it a go get some friends or family over to help. Welding projects are fun I'm not even a great welder but I just drew up a plan and just made it up along the way and tried different things.
It'll ok if i copy your proyect.
Thank you hombre for pront answer.

No worrys mate good luck and have fun. Don't hesitate to ask any questions I will answer all as soon as I can.
Are there no mixing elements installed inside?
Yes if you watch my follow up video you will see them.
Show. Very well.
Im from Brazil.
Thank you I'm in Australia my videos are not great but I hope you like the.

can I use a centrifugal water pump as an electromotor for a concrete mixer
can I use a centrifugal water pump as an electromotor for a concrete mixer @mattymiranda
the speed seems like this will separate the water and plasma in the blood
Not sure on what your saying but it mixes very well.
@@MattyMiranda what is the rpm of that contraption you have?
@@Iskandar_Igit 30 rpm
Mmm i'm not decided it looks like it wont last 5 minuets with a full load of concrete in it.
Hey mate ive used this so many times now and have only had belt slipping problems when full which is pointless because it's more than a large wheel barrow. I did test it out at 60rpms and yes it was a hand full. At 27rpms is no problems.
looks good but I would say that I think it turned to fast
I calculated around 27rpm slower would have been better
@@MattyMiranda very nice job though
Cheers man
Good job
Thanks mate.

Sorry what does that mean
and there will be water on the belt ,it will spin loose !
Hi there ive used it quite a few times and did not encounter that problem.
sir may I borrow the design of your machine? I'll use it for a research project. I'm a fan of your work sir. hoping for positive response

Sorry I can't understand this coment
All i say cool bro
its very expensive your machine
For a mixer that can mix this amount is around $1000 AUD and more. I built this for a fraction of the price you would buy one.
Too many adjustment
Goooooooooooooooood
Thank you
too fast
How fast should it go
it was soo noise 👎🏻
Thanks
