Today we are exploring Ao Nang and Railay beach in the province of Krabi in southern Thailand. Last time we were here it was beautiful but very quiet, however these days things are much more busy and so let's take a few day tours and explore more of what this area has to offer.

Thank you so much for your video blog Pady. My wife and I, who have unfortunately been dead for a few years, visited Ao nang and many islands several times in the early 2000s. When I see your video blog I get nostalgic and many memories come to me and my heart gets warm and full of lots of Thailand memories. Kind regards from Per in Sweden🙏♥️🇸🇪
U got ur memories gold dust
YNWA❤
From Thailand I love Sweden So much.
Nice to see the 3 of you having fun together... Michael has a great sense of humor.
Hong island next level for sure! Ao Nang and Railay beach, one of my favorite spots in Thailand. So beautiful. Great drone shots. Glad you, miss p and Michael had a good time. Another awesome video Paddy.
Having stayed in Ao Nang in Feb 2018 and Feb 2020 on my 3rd and 4th visit to Thailand, I'll say it is actually my favourite area of Thailand as well as Koh Lipe.
Krabi is amazing with lots to see and do.
Yes the 4-island tour is amazing but Hong Island Tour is definitely a must do - I would tell anyone who are staying in Krabi/Ao Nang to do this tour. I went through the nature walk in Hong Island and saw a monitor lizard and yes we went to Hong Lagoon, Lao Lading Island and Pak Bia Island.
Also bear in mind that Phi Phi Island Tour is more accessible and quicker from Krabi than Phuket as it is in the Krabi Province.
Yes also visited the entire Railey Peninsula for the day (West Railey, Tonsai, East Railey and Phra Nang). I had sunset dinner at Phra Nang Beach which was an awesome experience.
Also go to Emerald Pool and Hot Spring. And climb 1240 steps to the top of Tiger Cave Temple, which was a challenge
Thailand and specially the southern side remains in my heart forever, no matter how many countries i visit, Thailand has the no one spot
Love Krabi❤️ We were there a few years ago……and this video makes us long to be back! This vlog is one of the best and most epic one! Love the drone footage, not to mention the hotel, the trail to the beach and the boat ride to the islands:) This was awesome and thank-you for sharing 🙏
Although I'm gutted you are not in Italy with Thys and Lina right now, this vlog is fantastic. I remember watching you walk the empty beach at Railay last year. Seeing how lively it is on this vlog is quite a contrast! Looking forward to Phuket and Patong Beach!
Patty, I watch all kinds of videos about Thailand. You are gifted with filmmaking and editing, and your personality is fantastic. You don’t focus on yourself. You focus on the things around you. You are a cut above, and I think most in the world.
At any rate once again this old man is enjoying your videos and I wish I had the youth to do what you were doing.

One of my favourite places on planet Earth. Nice flashbacks to the earlier episode. Really enjoy both episodes. Cheers. dcb
Glad you enjoyed it
Like you Paddy last time I went a year ago I had that whole beach to myself. Everything was abandoned and leaf strewn. Nice to see life resurfacing
All these places are beautiful. The food in Thailand looks very delicious and healthy. The way I imagine heaven. I think we had a glimpse of Miss P - so pretty! You guys were too funny at that cave. Don’t think there is an altar for that here in the States lol. Can’t wait to see where you go next. 🤗
So glad to see Railay coming back to life, it would have to be my favourite beach in Thailand :)
yeah it's great to see!
It's not. Not yet. Few weeks ago it was dead.
Hey Paddy thanks sharing!!So excited to see people having a good time in Thailand…you are correct this is the sweet spot NOW.
Hey man I love your videos! We will be over there in about three weeks. We went to Ao Nang first in 1989. The frontage road was just crushed coral and there weren’t that many people around.
One thing I should say is - and it doesn’t bother me, but my wife says that the locals wouldn’t really appreciate you playing with the lingams in that cave. They believe in their magical powers pretty seriously.
awesome. Gives new meaning to the idea of getting 'wood'
I was just at Hong island and climbed the stairs to the view point. From up there you could see the beach that you were swimming at down below. As I was looking at it a three to four foot monitor crawled out of the water and sent people rushing away from it (although some grabbed their cameras and video equipment to get more up close shots). The climb was definitely rough but you and Miss P. could have made it. You should have gotten a video of the floating bridge there. It was hilarious watching people try to get from the boats to the beach on that bridge. It was rough seas the day I was there. Great content Paddy. Keep it going.
Thank you paddy me and my family are in Thailand right now and unfortunately they are burning the fields in Chang mai so have 8 days we don’t have a plan… soooooo we are off to Ao Nang and with inspiration from you I’m going to try do some vloging and upload it to RUclips 🤭🫣 I have bad anxiety and have always wanted to try..
Suppose I’m in one of the best places in the world to try
Hiya Paddy, sorry for being late in watching. Had a few heavy days of gardening. Crashed right out last night. Beautiful video. Lovely boat trip. Beautiful views. As always informative and enjoyable to watch. So nice to see you and Miss P and Micheal all having a lovely time. Beautiful drone footage. Good vibes. Beautiful sunset. Happy Easter to you all. I hope today went well.
Happy Easter to you too!
@@PaddyDoyle. Thank you 🐥🐤
Can’t wait to be in Krabi Christmas and new year cheers Paddy for a beautiful video,,, peace and happiness
Fantastic locations. So jealous.
Good to finally see miss P. 👍
Rob and Benci Toronto 🇨🇦
Fantastic to see all Thai vloggers now reporting things are getting back to normal 👍
Avani cliff beach is beautiful! I went there in 2018! I want to go back soooo bad
Another great vid Paddy. My wife and I are finally getting to travel to Phuket from the 21st for 2 weeks after 2 long years of Covid delay! If you're doing a final destination celebration somewhere in Phuket, it would be great to say hello and congratulations in person.
amen to that
I love when you asked the boat driver “where are you from?”, showing the confidence that you’ve been to 76 provinces and could absolutely say “Oh, I’ve been there” 😄…very cool.
Paddy, another smashing vlog. I realise you put a lot of thought for the back ground music that makes your content ❤ly. Can say you re a beach content specialist 😘
I really enjoys watching all of your videos as I am planning my trip to Thailand! Thank you for sharing your talent of videography, editing and travel!
Stayed at Avani in February and it was such an amazing stay!! Can’t wait to go back to Krabi
We just went on a trip to Railay Beach and Ao Nang (in my videos), in addition we spent five days on the island Koh Ya Noi. I can really recommend that island. Calm, nice beaches and good restaurants. And not too many tourists. It takes less than an hour to get there by boat from Ao Nang.
Awesome video Paddy! My family and I spent a couple weeks in Krabi during xmas and new year's in 2016-17 and absolutely loved it. My son and I went scuba diving for several days, and we all enjoyed many of the activities you mentioned in the video. Definitely a fun and beautiful place to stay if you crave the beach. Thanks - can't wait for the last province!!
♥️💕♥️
So beautiful beaches, Ao Nang.
Always good. Thanks for the journey and for helping me get through this unprecedented period in all of our lives. We made it!!!
Railay looks so much busier than it was when we were there only 2 months ago 💗🇹🇭
We were in Railay last week durin Songkran and it was perfect! Not too crowded but way more people that what we had in Koh Lanta.
We were there in early March 2020 just as things were shutting down. Very few people but many places were still open. Had a great time & yes the infinity pool at the Avani Cliff Hotel has one of the best views.
Wow I just left there! it would have been an awesome day had i bumped into you there. Enjoy your visit 👍🏖🙏
Next time!
@@PaddyDoyle. Keeping my eyes peeled in Phuket atm 👀
This is a beautiful place to visit in Thailand ❤️❤️❤️❤️
yay finally things are going back to normal
Thailand is currently great for some tourists given that there are no visitors from the PRC. However, economically speaking their absence is still hurting the tourism industry. Go now if you can to enjoy the beaches without the inevitable crowds that will one day return.
this is the best video about Ao Nang ever! thanks a lot!
Hi paddy we have booked 3 weeks next year & the main part of our stay 13 days is in krabi, I’m wondering if we booked the wrong time of year! Last week in April first 2 weeks of may! Is it rain season? I have watched everyone of your videos & im loving the new Vietnam level up! Your awesome, keep up the great work! X
I forget to tell you to venture into an awesome new Bakery in Ao Nang called Get Baked right off the Ao Nang waterfront but hopefully your subscribers will find there way there. They won't be disappointed
Amazing!!!!! Next week I'm arriving in Railay
cant wait for your excellent videos, Peace
I can confirm the Avani hotel Paddy recommended is really great. We're staying here at the time I post this.
Thier infinity pool has views to die for.
Great vibes in this video, make me want to visit! :)
You should!
This looks unbelievably good! Wow I need to go!
Hi Paddy we took your advice and stayed at this Avani Cliff Hotel it’s truly amazing and we returning again next year February and stay same hotel and also few nights railay beach all affordable even if from South Africa with our bad exchange rate if you months in advance. Love your videos
Great video and it’s encouraging to see tourism returning, it’s two years since we were in Ao Nang and Railey, but we will be back in November (after Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Koh Lanta)
You should have got a nice sunset shot from Railey beach. It's the most beautiful sunset for me. I just visited and stayed 3 nights there on June 2022 in Sand Sea Resort. Will go there again for sure maybe the end of the year.
BEAUTIFUL video!!
Thanks guys 😁
Another great video. Happy Eatser!
I've been there 3 days ago and even at the same hotel.
Ao Nang was amazing.
We did the Sunset Boat tour. Absolutely beautiful.
Amazing stuff! Sweet drone shots! And off the back of a Longtail is epic!
Michael is such a funny and relaxed cool guy..
Oh my God, what happened to magical Railay Beach? I was there in early 1988, even before Alex Garland wrote his most famous book: The B....As Paddy said, only 2 lagoon beaches, and we stayed on the one with all the dickies, and the hollow mountain behind it. I wonder, why Paddy didn't mention it. We went/climbed in twice, and it was amazing. We literally had to move forward like tarzan, ropes, bamboo ladders etc., and everything was crusted with sea salt. And, right in the middle, that wonderful tall tree. Well worth was also going to the other, the 'dead' side of the lagoon - a mangrove swamp. Back then, a rattan bungalow cost THB 28 (yeah, you heard me correctly) a night. It was as basic as could be with only a Futon-like mattress on the floor, with a mosquito net above it. One bare light bulb dangling from the ceiling, and a huge spider in the corner, that only showed up at night. An alfresco 'bathroom' outside, with a water pump, a tub, and a toilet sink without seat. Generated electricity only from 7.00am to 9.00pm, and a huge dish (and I mean HUGE) of fresh prawn for THB 65. It was MARVELOUS!! I took a long tail boat (THB 40 per ride) to Krabi Town every other day to get a shave, and a bottle of Mekong Whiskey. Actually, we only intended to stay for 2 or 3 nights, but were so mesmerized that we stayed for more than 2 weeks, before moving on to Had Yai, and Penang. However, that's another story. When I lived on Koh Lanta, 13 years later, I quite often went to Krabi Town, but never made it to Railay Beach again. I just didn't want to spoil the unique picture of it, I still, to this very day, have in my mind. And, no offense Paddy, compared to back then, it looks like sh....., sorry. Yeah, those were the days, and they won't return.
Amazing Paddy.... Love it
Great video! Booked my trip to Ao Nang today, leaving in few weeks.
I almost forgotten that i’ve been to the Hong Islands. Glad i got to see this place again.
Another sensational video Paddy! Ao nang is fab. Definitely recommend to anyone the 4 Island tour (long tail not crowded speed boat). I loved Poda Island, it's next level paradise! "Paddy on the way to 100 K".
December 2022… I’ll be there 🌞
Good vlog ..with your gf n friend..at times I bet it was lonely ..it must be ace paddy your reaching your final goal..I've been with you all the way..really looking for the finally at maybelles..💯🇹🇭🏴
Are you going to pass through Kamala when you’re in Phuket? I’d definitely recommend that you try the Pad Thai in a little restaurant called Pai Kao Haab. It was the best one we had on our holiday and the owner is very sweet!
Your videos are great :) Cheers, Manuel
Awesome video ! If it were up to me Paddy, I would put Miss P on all your video thumbnails 😍
It looks amazing 😍 never been to Riley beach ⛱️after watching this vlog it is added to the list of places to visit in Thailand 🇹🇭
I was there 3 weeks ago for the second time (first time in 2017)… and I still enjoy these places 😍
THANK YOU for NOT give all the "Hidden gems" public ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Incredibly beautiful area...definately one of the must see spots in Thailand...thank's for this picturesque video Paddy...best regards Richard & Oye, from Pattaya Dog Grooming Salon & Channel.
I have been to Ao Nang and Railay many times and just love the spot 👍👍
Nice one, I went to Tonsai Beach and you could walk over to Railei Beach when it was low tide. Does Tonsai still exists?
see now your not traveling alone the price of your accommodation has increased dramatically😂😂
Ow yeah, remember the Mountain climb and blue lagoon from the preivious trip, that was next level mate 👊
Most Def must do for me next time, already on the bucketlist Ao nang, Railay so thanks for this treat buddy 🙏
Railay sure was the sweat spot Paddy 😊
As always, C Ya in the next one, cheers 🙌🍻
Thanks for the wonderful Video, Great Information and stunnings Views
Bugger I missed you Paddy your in my town and I'm still stuck in Australia
Ahhh this brings back memories. We stayed on Railay for 5 days during our last trip and spent a day over in Ao Nang.
Railay is breathtakingly beautiful especially the 'hidden' beach.
Quick tip: you can go to Koh Hong from Klong Muang. It's closer to Koh Hong than Ao nang
Ao nang and Hong island very beautiful..
I’m going on Tuesday, hope I haven’t missed the sweet spot !
Michael reminds me of Jerry Seinfeld. Too funny!!! I love his sense of humor 😂
As always you have showed us the best of Krabi . Ao Nang is very nice definitely a place to visit . I remember the Dragon 🐉 crest Mountain Vlog so long ago but remember it so well . We love your vlogs.
Thank you.
Hello Paddy! Thanks for the video. We're 8 friends who we'll be there soon, and wanted to know how you managed to arrange the boat by yourself to Hong Island. Just randomly walk to the beach and ask for a ride to a local fisherman??? Or through an agency?? I'm sure the 8 of us will fill up one of those boats!! Thank you!!!! ✌🏼
Now this is the real Thailand 🇹🇭
We just call the deep water pool the deep hole
Guess who's gonna screw it up?
These channel postings.
What's the LESSON from the film 'The Beach' ????
Love this video! If you had to choose would you do 3 nights at Ao Nang or Railay? We are doing 8nt North phuket then 4 nights Phi Phi, then 3 night's at ao nang/railay before we head up to bangkok and chiang mai for 10 night's
about the secret spot lagoon .... its not allowed to swim there anymore
Hello Paddy, just wondering if you could share what camera you used. Thank you!
