@@ThinkingNow The legal definition of perjury is, and I quote, "a crime that occurs when an individual willfully makes a false statement during a judicial proceeding, after he or she has taken an oath to speak the truth."
You don't have to go to court during the hiring process, so it is NOT perjury to lie or omit information on an application. At most, it's simply just lying on an application form, which is NOT a crime. If in fact there had been a background check done on this person prior to hiring, the pending case should have come up. However, seeing as it is such a tiny department, which naturally would not have a lot of funding do much of anything, any background check, if one was done, would likely have been cursory in nature.
And, the only time there would likely be a firearm prohibition as a condition of bail would be in the case of an alleged violent crime or in the case of an alleged act of misdemeanor domestic violence. Otherwise, the court would see no reason to impose one, in most cases.
In any case, one is still presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, not in public opinion. The public can believe she is guilty, but that holds no Constitutional weight, so no one is beholden to it.

You have to have a bachelor's degree to apply, pass a series of tests to assure you don't get triggered, get a masters degree in law enforcement and law before you get a badge. But Germany police have a 7 year probation period before they are fully vetted. You have to be 19 with a GED in the United States to apply followed by 6 months of training. You don't even have to remember your oat, simply repeat back as someone reads the Oath. Germany has a dark past they work continuously on making sure it isn't repeated and in the United States, I have heard all my life "the south is going to rise again. Are the residents in this town okay with their tax dollars paying them to keep them safe? I feel like this department isn't making great choices in hiring officers. 3 officers in recent years have been investigated for criminal offenses.
And like mentioned in the video, any arrests they make could be thrown out because of who they are and what they have done.

It takes more training to be a hairdresser in this country than a cop. It takes 2 YEARS to be a hair stylist, it takes 6 MONTHS to be a cop. And hairdressers don't have to carry a gun, but I'll bet most of them know at least SOME law better than about 90% of cops. We're being policed by idiots with guns and NO knowledge of what they are really supposed to be doing. They are taught that we are their enemies, NOT citizens of the SAME country. They were never great, but "9-11 changed everything", as a cop in my front yard told me in denying me a search warrant. We are being policed by idiots with bad tempers, steroid addictions and delusions of adequacy. This is getting to the point where we ARE going to start defending ourselves. Where the fix to problems like these are so obviously simple:
Immediately upon an officer being investigated or charged, that cops Law Enforcement Certification should be placed on a SUSPENDED STATUS.
The cop having their certification on suspension means; they cannot be hired at another department, they cannot enforce laws, they become regular joe-blow citizens!
By suspending the cops certification, it would place the cop in a limbo. Forcing the cop to wait for the investigation to conclude. Not being able to just quietly move on to the next department.
The cop couldn’t even write a damn parking ticket!
Which would leave it up to the department to decide whether to suspend with or without pay (since it’s the department that has to justify their budget), but either way- the cop has no police powers so cannot work! Wouldn’t even be able to do paperwork at the police station, since much of the paperwork is confidential info. Even accessing the police computers is only for certified law enforcement officers, so suspended certification means he can’t even do data entree menial tasks.

From my perspective that is unequal treatment, cops frequently arrest people on trumped up charges that bear no relation to actual occurrences a consequence of this is that there are people who, when applying for jobs, are summarily rejected because of those admitted arrests that were not the result of criminal or illegal conduct but were arrests anyway..

Correct. They lie and cover up their dirty deeds daily. Nothing but welfare cowards who deserve to have everything they do under the microscope and on film. They have proven, nationwide, you can't trust them. If they're honest, public scrutiny shouldn't be a problem. There has to be a way to thin out the lazy uneducated bums that do nothing but suck up the taxpayers money.

I actually had the pleasure of being accosted by these two fine officers of the law a couple months ago when I was visiting extended family there. Long story short, the road had been blocked off for their fall festival and when my father in law tried to ask them to let us through politely Dawn immediately started swearing and insulting us because she couldn't be bothered to move a single barricade. Then Pedro came over and started threatening us with a ticket book for... not liking being hassled? Eventually they finally let us through with a final round of threats and insults. They then spent the rest of the day sporadically driving around in their little golf cart and standing in the park across the street glaring at the house we were staying at. They even got the mayor to pay a visit to my fiance's grandma a couple weeks later because they apparently complained about US.

They are not peace keepers. They are dishonest, malicious, low IQ, escalating, self-serving thugs-in-uniform that are only skilled at earning the hate.
Sorry you and your family had to experience their unprofessional behavior.
