All the best Andy 🤞 I have a few miles + parkrun followed by Wymondham 20 mile race on Sunday as my final LR for Paris (2 weeks on Sunday). Not sure what kind of shape I am in. Thinking of running a mile or two WU, followed by 10 or 11 steasy (steady/easy) and then the remainder looking to run at MP feel. Got no real idea until after Sunday of whether I can aim for 7 mi/mi pace or under (4:20 per km) to 7:15+ (4:30) or something even more conservative for me.
@@itsonandy Held 7:17 mi/mi at Wymondham on Sunday over 20.1 miles to finish in 2:26 something. That's 5 seconds off my PB Marathon pace on a hilly course with the wind to play with and not in race shoes. I have also been struggling to clear a cold from my chest in recent weeks. If I rest up, taper well, we get favourable weather and things go well for me on the day then it looks like I may have half a chance of improving that PB a little in Paris 🤞 We all know how tough Marathons are though. I ran 16.7 miles at Wymondham in 2 hours before deciding to jog it in. Might have knocked another couple of minutes off if I had been racing.
Hey Andy, you are definitely in sub 3:30 shape. You need to believe you can run it though, start believing ! Be super positive knowing you are going to run a sub 3:30. Almost need to be an arrogant arse about knowing you’re gonna run a 3:29! Get them doubts in the bin.
Analyse : what is stopping 5.oo min m/pace for 40+ k ? Is it cardio ? Is it legs ? Long runs and mileage is not always the answer. Train smart for long term goals
nice run man! Just found your channel, looks good! I am running my first marathon in Stockholm 1th of june, aiming to get sub 4h! LETS GO

Another great video Andy!
Cheers Andy - nice one mate 👍🏻
Fresh legs make a massive difference. Marathon pace can feel hard deep in your block. Trust the process. 💪🏃🏻♂️
Cheers Michael, looking forward to having a taper!
Hi Andy how about running the 20 miler as a progression run
5mile easy
5mile steady
5mile at MP
5mile at 15sec faster than MP
I think I will do something very similar Chris! Cheers 👍🏻

You know it 👊🏻😎
There is a place called Hill on the 20 miler.
Cheers Stevie, I'm aware of 'hill', I will report back with my findings on how hilly Hill is!
Hey Andy. Just a word of warning.....the Fission 20 miler is not entirely flat 🙂 have a good run .
Thank you for the heads up, I've heard there is a village called Hill... Will hopefully not be too bad!
