Opal's personality is speculated to be a combination of Amethyst's power, along with Pearl's grace and precision. She appears to be more open to Steven's desire to have fun and play, as she sang part of his song back to him. This is a trait that can be traced back to Amethyst.
Also both of them having such distincts personalities they need more focus to hold the fusion stable that's why she's so forgetful
The giant bird was also a fusion of the all the little gem birds, it’s a nice touch. Also Giant Woman is one of the weirdest songs out of context😂 and in context.
I had "Giant Woman" stuck in stuck in my head for so long after this episode, and after watching your reactions, it got stuck in there again. I don't mind, of course, it's an absolute bop.

This is embarrassing but I feel like I have to correct myself because I hate misinformation. Sorry for the inconveniences.
Steven's commentary never fails to break me down, even in the most drama-filled situations. This boy feels with his whole heart!! 😂 And Opal definitely sparked the fandom's love and curiosity of the concept of fusion. Soon it was fueled more.
"Just being wet" sounds like the difference between your child saying I'll do the dishes and the dishes actually being done. 😆
Soundtrack of each and every fusion is so good, I love Opal and her theme so much, Aivi and Surrashu are the best
"You should know how I dance by now!!" means a lot more than you think coming from Amethyst. Her and Pearl have known each other longer since the "old times" and fusion requires that you be in-sync, mentally, emotionally, etc. with your partner, much like explained. Seeing them bat heads a lot, and get on each other's nerves so much, makes it sad to realize whatever closeness they had has been broken down by a lot, and there definitely was a reason/stresser.. It's nice though, to see them working at mending it.
I think the perfect party for Amethyst would be to go to a buffet with a lot of different foods from around the world, Garnet I think would like to hit the gym or maybe spar someone for her birthday and Pearl would like to go to the library and be surrounded by books for her birthday.
Giant woman is honestly my favorite song from this entire show, it's the first real song we get.
Damn. I remember when I first realized that people get old. As a kid, I was horrified and sad, too. On the plus side, we just got introduced to gem fusions
but my favorite gem is still miles away from debuting 😂

For Amethyst, I think something along the lines of a rave, with a cage fight or people smashing things, definitely a buffet
I think a something like a tea party would suit Pearl, but no cucumber sandwiches, since it’s later revealed she doesn’t like eating, so no food.
Maybe a pie making station, since she enjoys making pies, and definitely a craft station, also something along the lines of a cleaning competition
For Garnet, it’s hard to say without spoiling a critical part of her character and the plot, but definitely a fusion style buffet, plus smoothies
Also a fighting ring, and a baseball ring
(That comes into play later)
