  • UCLA Center X Teacher Education Program (TEP) at UCLA for the Fall Quarter Stone Scholars and Mentors Dinner for 2017-2018 School Year
    UCLACX TEP Mentors:
Rebecca Alber - TEP Faculty Advisor
    Lorena Guillén - Assistant Professor
Held on UCLA Campus the evening of November 9, 2017
Introduction of 2017 Stone Scholars: Brenda Cassanova & Melina Melgoza
The purpose of the program is to provide two TEP students with a scholarship to pay tuition and fees at UCLA and an opportunity to become connected to faculty members who serve as Stone Scholar Mentors and who are willing to share their expertise on educational issues. Our hope is that the Stone Scholars will develop skills and knowledge that will enhance their leadership potential. Each scholar is awarded a travel budget to attend conferences and meetings either on their own or with their mentor. Each year we have encouraged our TEP students to contact their mentor and meet with them on a regular basis. We also have organized dinners throughout the year as the formal settings for all Stone Mentors and Scholars to come together and share their interests and knowledge around educational issues.
