    I surf fish down in south padre island and it feels like the fishing here isn't as good as florida. Especially surf fishing, might just be me not knowing any good spots but overall looks like you guys have it good.

      The emerald coast has the best tablefare surf fishing in my opinion -- I'm based out of the Tampa Bay area and will travel several weekends a year to other beaches. Emerald coast & the forgotten coast have been my favorites by far.

    Test the OP Bait Soak from Fish Gum. Mimics scent of ghost shrimp. Also, preferred float color seems to change daily. There's a new(er) float set up where the float is on the hook - SurfPro Tackle

      Ya, I picked up some of those float hooks last week. Got the purple/pink and orange/yellow ones. Today I hooked up on both rods when a school of pompano went by. Multiple whiting catches, and a few trash fish. But -- they catch fish. 10/10 will be using them from now on instead of just a 2/0 hook and some random floats/beads.

    Interesting video. I’ve never used the gum. I fish in central east coast Florida from Bethune down to Sebastian inlet. Were you using live shrimp or fresh dead?

    It seems as if, a fish gum/bite, may keep the actual bait on the hook a while longer.

    • @sailorfoot2
      @sailorfoot2 Месяц назад

      That's what I was thinking. Does it help keep the bait on the hook?

    • @Saltstrong
      @Saltstrong  Месяц назад

      That's certainly an added bonus.

      @@davevalente Fishbites stays on the hook....Fishgum seems to fall off the hook in rough conditions. Have caught various species on fishbites, nothing on the 1 day I tried fishgum.
