She's the first anime character I deeply felt any emotion and compassion towards. I'm glad the writers finally did her justice and allowing her to have her moment with Inuyasha in the final act.

I was so stupid and blind to even think of hating Kikyo when I was young. God I felt so guilty that after all these years I finally went back, watched the whole thing, and finally understood the pain she and Inuyasha went through.

At first, she was depicted as an antagonist because of her cruelty towards Kagome and her jealousy over her relationship with Inuyasha, and her desire of revenge against her first love. But if you think about it, she just wanted revenge at this time. She was always compassionate and kind except that moment, and she'll forget quickly her jealousy towards Kagome in the anime.
That does seem very likely. Inuyasha refered to her as much more beautiful than Kagome. He was infatuated with Kikyo, so much so that only when she died, was he able to really be with Kagome.
Yes. But at times I think of how much he matured with kagome. At times I feel like he hid a lot of his emotions because he was afraid. When he realized she also had feelings for him, was when it tore him apart. He couldn't leave Kikyo because he felt responsible for her death. He couldn't protect her when Naruko killed her. When they were still together. I think he wanted to move on but felt guilty about it. I don't know, but inuyasha and kikyo's love story seemed more passionate then ever. Beautifully written.

Kikyo was like his first love so like any of us, she will always have a special place in his heart given the fact that she was also the first human or the next one other than his mother who made him feel special too due to his identity. They were each other's comfort zone away from reality. But that's just it. For a couple to last forever, they need trust other than love that's why they ended up like that. Their relationship was easily tainted by Naraku. Aside from that, they don't have a strong foundation. And then Kagome came who's always been there for him with their long journey together that tested their patience, trust and love for each other that proves to be unbreakable. She's even willing to accept him for who he is while Kikyo wants him to be a human. Therefore, Kagome is his one true love.
Honestly, a lot of the people in the fandom are ignorant and petty as fuck. She went through a lot that made her who she is; making her "evil" and such. Without Kikyo, there is no Kagome. Without Kikyo, there is no Inuyasha and the series itself. It's sad to see people hate on her for the sake of their ship. Both Inuyasha and Kikyo are canon, and so is Inuyasha and Kagome. Get over it. Ffs.
she is one of the most tragic anime characters of all all times. her first love for inuyasha is so pure and she would also want to live normal life with him and before everything is screwed up. I wish them together but its impossible in the other hands Kagome also love him for who he is and she will always love him and she would do everything to support her lover Kagome is one of the kindest and strong heart character in all of anime serie and i just love her for that. I wish i will find someone as pure soul like her. Glad that they are together! great couple. not only that the story, OST, song/music, classic animation, Art lines, voices, gags etc. bring back so much memories and my tears. Es muy curioso, crecí viendo esta serie y siempre sentí un cierto desprecio hacia el personaje de Kikyo, la veía como un impedimento para que Inu&Kag estuvieran juntos, ahora que volví a ver esta serie, hasta el ultimo capitulo, ahora que se lo que es haber amado y haber perdido a esa persona importante, entiendo el personaje de Kikyo, incluso llore con el vídeo de su muerte. Es irónico como la vida da muchas vueltas y al momento que creces cambias tu forma de entender y de sentir. Hoy a pesar de que me gusto el final de la serie, me identifico con Kikyo...ya que sé lo que es amar a alguien que ya no tendrás, sé lo que es perdonar y dejar ir, que nostalgia esta melodía...
Es defendible,, la serie animada tuvo bastante culpa por eso, todos la odiamos por lo mismo parece, es curioso porque le cambian la personalidad tanto a Kikyo que simplemente parece malvada solo por serlo cuando en el manga no es así, pequeños detalles que te hacen odiarla o amarla.

And i always hate kikyo back before. i thinks she likes a villain.. But after like 10 years. i rewatch inuyasha. and get a different perspective. After become matured person. I came to a conclusion and i like kikyo more than ever. No hate to kagome though. I like she also. but kikyo is different level for me. For 18 years old women. I cried. I’m a guy… And I cried. I never felt so attached to such a great story between these two who should’ve had a life together but it was broken just because of him. I’m pretty glad that she finally was able to rest in peace but that ending made me tear up so much.

This theme is my trauma...It's like an endless cycle of depression... The cycle of remembering this time leads to remembering Kikyo and her story which makes me really sad or remembering Kikyo which leads me to remembering this soundtrack then makes me super sad again. Geez what a scary cycle.

Kikyo has a calm beauty, I always liked her, her life was totally tragic,i love kagome too, but I think kagome love for Inuyasha was much more stronger, when they both got possessed kikyo was able to throw arrow but somehow Kagome manage not to shoot arrow at Inuyasha, yes both are same, but kikyo's calm eyes has storm of sadness behind it, which she never expressed, both she Kagome and Kikyo are same yet sooo different.
When comparing the two it's important to keep in mind their backstories: Kagome is not only younger and less experienced than Kikyo but she also grew up a normal teenaged girl. Whereas Kikyo would've had to mature very fast at a young age, while also having to prioritise her duties over her own happiness.
You can have more than one soulmate. While I agree with both of you, Kagome has stated over and over she’s her own person. But i still don’t understand why people hate kikyo. She died a awful death thinking the person she loved betrayed and killed her. And then was brought back to relive it all over again.

I love kikyo so strong and loyal to the end , after all that had to happen in all his life, the curse of the priestess , the youth that she was never able to have , the happy ending that she wanted to share with inuyasha being human and without the order of the shikon tied to her destination , and all being destroyed by the selfish desire to Naraku to want to separate Kikyo and Inuyasha and the domain of the shikon . All that does not prevent that then and now give me want to cry for kikyo and her tragic story. Either way i do not hate kagome simply and being totally honest she didn't step by everything that Kikyo had in her whole life . Even kagome said that it was impossible to break the bond so special that inuyasha had with kikyo, Kikyo made to inuyasha the thousands of ways to be happy being half human as much as if he were a completely human , and with the pearl would only be a killing machine , with the blood of innocent human life in its grip and we know that Inuyasha hates have human blood in his being , kikyo in some way helped him to trust to love and protect he's loved ones , but of course that would not have affected everything he learned of her , if Naraku would never put to the two of them a trap . Kagome was commissioned as the reincarnation of kikyo to recover the sincere and true side of Inuyasha .(And finish with the existence of the pearl that is what kikyo wanted to the end). Cause Kagome is like that !so honest, brave and true whatever a good person have to pass without anyone asked him , she will help that person no matter what (for example). Kikyo was and always will be my favourite, the first time I saw her I immediately felt all her emotions and saw the real kikyo, she’s by far one of the best characters out there. And her soul was destined to be with inuyasha whether it was through her or kagome or someone else with kikyo’s soul. Kikyo is his soulmate

Tbh i tink naraku is actually kinda inocent( dislike dis commment if u want ) I mean like he just wished to the shikon jewel that he wants to be with kikyo thats all ( im imataure and u can refer me to not understand anime ) and i dunt know y im saying dis here.
I've always preferred Kagome and Inuyasha together throughout the anime (and there was even a time when I childishly hated Kikyo simply because she ruined my pair) but finally, I really started to sympathize for Kikyo and understand her. And when she died in The Final Act, I cried for her. A lot. She's such a strong character and it's obvious that her and Inuyasha had a bond that can't be broken. It's just such a shame that life treated her so unfairly. My heart really broke for Kikyo when she died, I just wanted her to be happy.

I always loved kikyo even when i watched this when i was 12 and still love her now as an adult, she was first she made inuyasha kind and pulled him out of his shell. She loved him and he loved her and i wish they ended up together. Sure kagome is the main character but kikyo does not deserve the hate she gets, she was betrayed hurt killed and resurrected to feel all the pain again, how can people hate on her😢😢 kagome has no right to be jealous of her and angry at inuyasha for running after her, she was his first love afterall.....

There is nothing bad going on here it was just a distortion of time that caused this peculiar timeline that is the story of InuYasha. One of the loveliest fairy tails i've ever experienced. In the end, Kikyo ended up with InuYasha in her future lifetime AS Kagome. Beautiful ending. Watch "InuYasha the final act" if you haven't!!!!! So good!!! And if you have a good TV or theater watch it on that because it's high quality and worth the good format. Very enjoyable experience. *10 out of 10.*
2024 still watching. Watched when I was around 9 years old. I never hated Kikyo. On the contrary, I find her more relatable for some reason. I also love Kagome, but maybe I just resonated more with Kikyo. Inuyasha is hands down and easily my top 1 anime of all time. And has one of the best soundtracks! It’s why I am very fascinated with time travel stories. It’s all because of Inuyasha. ❤
I started watching Inuyasha when I was 12. Even though I always admired Kikyo, I would get so annoyed because I thought she got in the way of Inuyasha and Kagome. Now that I'm 28 and have gone through my fair trials and errors in relationships/love, I've come to understand and relate so much to Kikyo. Imagine loving a man, getting your heart broken because you think he betrayed you and then seeing him with a new woman. Kikyo was able to go through all of this pain without any closure and she still remained kind enough to protect others. Mature women understand, don't blame the other woman, blame the man for not being able to make up his mind! Inuyasha and Kagome will always be my favorite, but Kikyo was an amazing character and deserves admiration, not hate.
Kikyo character offers so much benefits from the beginning til the end in order to finish Naraku. Even though it ends up that she separates from Inuyasha, at least she could feel peace in the Netherland after she knows that inuyasha still has feelings toward her.

It always broke my heart hearing people say they hated kikyo 🥺 she truly loved inuyasha I believe that she just wanted to live as an ordinary woman. I personally prefer her over kagome. Kikyo didn’t deserve what happened to her she deserved a happy life but she never got that. When she said she became an ordinary woman my heart just broke. Inuyasha crying out that he couldn’t save her made me cry and broke me even more. She just wanted to be loved by the person she loved the most. ❤️

I’m going through a really tough time in my life...my friend doesn’t want to be friends anymore and it hurts. These songs help me release the sadness. It only happened yesterday, he was firm in his decision, and I already miss the times we had. I wish I could just go back in time and fix the issues we had. The tears don’t seem to have an end. after rewatching inuyasha and finally watching the final act i've always liked kikyo when i was kid at 8 years old when i discovered this amazing show, except for the one episode where she shot the arrow at kagome because of the hatred kikyo had, but while watching her journey i enjoyed her path and how she was able to patch things up with inuyasha and they were able to be close again before she left. i always liked the love triangle between inuyasha, kikyo and kagome, because kikyo was the closure inuyasha needed to heal, while kagome was what healed his heart and able to not be afraid to have strong feeling for others like he did long ago. inuyasha needed them both. i teared up during kikyo's last scene and only few anime's have done that and that shows the masterful job they did with this character. as i rewatched it as an adult i understood the tragedy and the sadness much more and why i always liked kikyo at the beginning.
i honestly felt a bit bad for kikyo when this happened. But i think she finally was able to let the fact that inuyasha would be taken care of by kagome eased her when she was gone.
Actually Kikyo were ok with that from the beginning after her anger has been over (after she learned about Naraku). She constantly told Inuyasha that they CANNOT be together again since she was death. Of course Kagome worshippers like to act like Kikyo was the one who made Inuyasha follow her when in fact it was Inuyasha himself who stubbornly followed her and wanted to protect her (which is understandable) even when Kikyo told him MANY TIMES to stop.
Kikio was burned with the Shikon jewel. They say that the jewel will grant the wish of someone who wishes upon it. I like to believe the kikios wish was to be with Inuyasha and the Jewel granted it but not in the way she was expecting. She can be with Inuyasha, through Kagome, her reincarnation. In the end, her wish was granted.
I'm back here again after rewatching Inuyasha. This is the most painful episode for me, and the only time I cried. It was so heart-wrenching. I have come to accept that Inuyasha really loved her, and she will always be special to Inuyasha. But even if Naraku wasn't there, they will still not have a happy ending together. Kikyo wants to wish for Inuyasha to become fully human, but the Shikon Jewel never really grants wishes, instead, one will end up inside the jewel to fight the demons.
I tried to hate her. But despite all that , I couldn't hate her... Her life was very definition of tragedy ... Her eyes shows her pain and sorrow ... I'm glad she died in the arms of only person she ever loved..
We all knew the end was inevitable for her, just like Kohaku, still, you really feel that loss. Mixed in with this beautiful music, you can't help but share in Inuyasha's sadness

I believe all characters in the story are the ones who makes Inuyasha possible. They all have a role that makes the story go into progress. So therefore, kikyo and kagome are both in equal terms of making the story possible as well. Because as my teacher taught me, without the other characters, a story wouldn't come to life.
I used to hate her, but she was just misunderstood. she didn’t know, and i feel terrible now. now that i’ve matured, i understand she just felt betrayed, and wanted to get her revenge to finally rest in piece and not feel the dread.
Kikyo was wise and smart, she knew from the start she was already dead and couldn't be with Inuyasha. What could she do? Focus on her mission to destroy the pearl. And so she tried, till the end.

I hated Kikyo, but over time I've come to realize her struggles and challenges, and I've learned to respect her. I was honestly sad, and I actually cried when Kikyo died in The Final Act, it was so heartbreaking. Inuyasha is an anime I will never get sick of tbh.
I don't dislike Kikyo, but I find Kagome did more for Inuyasha. She told him she cared for him as he was, and didn't want him to change. Kikyo wanted him to become human. Kagome accepted him as he was and did teach him a lot, being from a different era and having different views to show him. As for reincarnation....I'll have to agree with Kagome herself and her views, when it comes to that.

She only did that in order destroy the pearl, she never kill him even though inuyasha tried to steal the pearl. She admitted that she felt the same as inuyasha did.
She could've done that without changing him. She wanted him to use the jewel to make him human, I believe. Then she'd destroy it. Not to mention the fact that she's neither ever seen him in full demon form or anything. She's experienced very little of Inuyasha's dark side and preferred to mellow him out. Maybe she loved him, but in my opinion, if she really loved him, she wouldn't have convinced him to want to become a human, which Inuyasha was so clearly against in the beginning. Yeah maybe you can back that up with 'he wanted to make himself better for Kikyo' but I think he would've seriously resented her. We see how much he hates being human on the new moon nights. But anyway, they had to little time to be with each other, maybe their relationship would have been different without Naraku going into the picture, she barely had the opportunity to experienced love.

I was so stupid and blind to even think of hating Kikyo when I was young. God I felt so guilty that after all these years I finally went back, watched the whole thing, and finally understood the pain she and Inuyasha went through.

At first, she was depicted as an antagonist because of her cruelty towards Kagome and her jealousy over her relationship with Inuyasha, and her desire of revenge against her first love.
But if you think about it, she just wanted revenge at this time. She was always compassionate and kind except that moment, and she'll forget quickly her jealousy towards Kagome in the anime.

That does seem very likely. Inuyasha refered to her as much more beautiful than Kagome. He was infatuated with Kikyo, so much so that only when she died, was he able to really be with Kagome.
Yes. But at times I think of how much he matured with kagome. At times I feel like he hid a lot of his emotions because he was afraid. When he realized she also had feelings for him, was when it tore him apart. He couldn't leave Kikyo because he felt responsible for her death. He couldn't protect her when Naruko killed her. When they were still together. I think he wanted to move on but felt guilty about it. I don't know, but inuyasha and kikyo's love story seemed more passionate then ever. Beautifully written.

Kikyo was like his first love so like any of us, she will always have a special place in his heart given the fact that she was also the first human or the next one other than his mother who made him feel special too due to his identity. They were each other's comfort zone away from reality. But that's just it. For a couple to last forever, they need trust other than love that's why they ended up like that. Their relationship was easily tainted by Naraku. Aside from that, they don't have a strong foundation. And then Kagome came who's always been there for him with their long journey together that tested their patience, trust and love for each other that proves to be unbreakable. She's even willing to accept him for who he is while Kikyo wants him to be a human. Therefore, Kagome is his one true love.

she is one of the most tragic anime characters of all all times. her first love for inuyasha is so pure and she would also want to live normal life with him and before everything is screwed up. I wish them together but its impossible in the other hands Kagome also love him for who he is and she will always love him and she would do everything to support her lover Kagome is one of the kindest and strong heart character in all of anime serie and i just love her for that. I wish i will find someone as pure soul like her. Glad that they are together! great couple. not only that the story, OST, song/music, classic animation, Art lines, voices, gags etc. bring back so much memories and my tears. I wish this serie never going to die forever. I will just always love it till the day i die.

Es irónico como la vida da muchas vueltas y al momento que creces cambias tu forma de entender y de sentir. Hoy a pesar de que me gusto el final de la serie, me identifico con Kikyo...ya que sé lo que es amar a alguien que ya no tendrás, sé lo que es perdonar y dejar ir, que nostalgia esta melodía...

Es defendible,, la serie animada tuvo bastante culpa por eso, todos la odiamos por lo mismo parece, es curioso porque le cambian la personalidad tanto a Kikyo que simplemente parece malvada solo por serlo cuando en el manga no es así, pequeños detalles que te hacen odiarla o amarla.

Kikyo has a calm beauty, I always liked her, her life was totally tragic,i love kagome too, but I think kagome love for Inuyasha was much more stronger, when they both got possessed kikyo was able to throw arrow but somehow Kagome manage not to shoot arrow at Inuyasha, yes both are same, but kikyo's calm eyes has storm of sadness behind it, which she never expressed, both she Kagome and Kikyo are same yet sooo different.
When comparing the two it's important to keep in mind their backstories: Kagome is not only younger and less experienced than Kikyo but she also grew up a normal teenaged girl. Whereas Kikyo would've had to mature very fast at a young age, while also having to prioritise her duties over her own happiness.
I identify with her so much.. I'll never have my happy ending, but spending time with the one I loved the most was enough.
I think its safe to say that Kikyo an Inuyasha were soul-mates.

I love kikyo so strong and loyal to the end , after all that had to happen in all his life, the curse of the priestess , the youth that she was never able to have , the happy ending that she wanted to share with inuyasha being human and without the order of the shikon tied to her destination , and all being destroyed by the selfish desire to Naraku to want to separate Kikyo and Inuyasha and the domain of the shikon .
All that does not prevent that then and now give me want to cry for kikyo and her tragic story. Either way i do not hate kagome simply and being totally honest she didn't step by everything that Kikyo had in her whole life .
Even kagome said that it was impossible to break the bond so special that inuyasha had with kikyo, Kikyo made to inuyasha the thousands of ways to be happy being half human as much as if he were a completely human , and with the pearl would only be a killing machine , with the blood of innocent human life in its grip and we know that Inuyasha hates have human blood in his being , kikyo in some way helped him to trust to love and protect he's loved ones , but of course that would not have affected everything he learned of her , if Naraku would never put to the two of them a trap . Kikyo was and always will be my favourite, the first time I saw her I immediately felt all her emotions and saw the real kikyo, she’s by far one of the best characters out there. I've always preferred Kagome and Inuyasha together throughout the anime (and there was even a time when I childishly hated Kikyo simply because she ruined my pair) but finally, I really started to sympathize for Kikyo and understand her. And when she died in The Final Act, I cried for her. A lot. She's such a strong character and it's obvious that her and Inuyasha had a bond that can't be broken. It's just such a shame that life treated her so unfairly. My heart really broke for Kikyo when she died, I just wanted her to be happy.

I always loved kikyo even when i watched this when i was 12 and still love her now as an adult, she was first she made inuyasha kind and pulled him out of his shell. She loved him and he loved her and i wish they ended up together. Sure kagome is the main character but kikyo does not deserve the hate she gets, she was betrayed hurt killed and resurrected to feel all the pain again, how can people hate on her😢😢 kagome has no right to be jealous of her and angry at inuyasha for running after her, she was his first love afterall.....

There is nothing bad going on here it was just a distortion of time that caused this peculiar timeline that is the story of InuYasha. One of the loveliest fairy tails i've ever experienced. In the end, Kikyo ended up with InuYasha in her future lifetime AS Kagome. Beautiful ending. Watch "InuYasha the final act" if you haven't!!!!! So good!!! And if you have a good TV or theater watch it on that because it's high quality and worth the good format. Very enjoyable experience. *10 out of 10.*

2024 still watching. Watched when I was around 9 years old. I never hated Kikyo. On the contrary, I find her more relatable for some reason. I also love Kagome, but maybe I just resonated more with Kikyo.
Inuyasha is hands down and easily my top 1 anime of all time. And has one of the best soundtracks! It’s why I am very fascinated with time travel stories. It’s all because of Inuyasha. ❤
I started watching Inuyasha when I was 12. Even though I always admired Kikyo, I would get so annoyed because I thought she got in the way of Inuyasha and Kagome. Now that I'm 28 and have gone through my fair trials and errors in relationships/love, I've come to understand and relate so much to Kikyo. Imagine loving a man, getting your heart broken because you think he betrayed you and then seeing him with a new woman. Kikyo was able to go through all of this pain without any closure and she still remained kind enough to protect others. Mature women understand, don't blame the other woman, blame the man for not being able to make up his mind! Inuyasha and Kagome will always be my favorite, but Kikyo was an amazing character and deserves admiration, not hate.

Kikyo character offers so much benefits from the beginning til the end in order to finish Naraku. Even though it ends up that she separates from Inuyasha, at least she could feel peace in the Netherland after she knows that inuyasha still has feelings toward her.
In the end Kikyos light did nothing to defeat Naraku.

after rewatching inuyasha and finally watching the final act i've always liked kikyo when i was kid at 8 years old when i discovered this amazing show, except for the one episode where she shot the arrow at kagome because of the hatred kikyo had, but while watching her journey i enjoyed her path and how she was able to patch things up with inuyasha and they were able to be close again before she left. i always liked the love triangle between inuyasha, kikyo and kagome, because kikyo was the closure inuyasha needed to heal, while kagome was what healed his heart and able to not be afraid to have strong feeling for others like he did long ago. inuyasha needed them both. i teared up during kikyo's last scene and only few anime's have done that and that shows the masterful job they did with this character. as i rewatched it as an adult i understood the tragedy and the sadness much more and why i always liked kikyo at the beginning.

i honestly felt a bit bad for kikyo when this happened. But i think she finally was able to let the fact that inuyasha would be taken care of by kagome eased her when she was gone.
Actually Kikyo were ok with that from the beginning after her anger has been over (after she learned about Naraku). She constantly told Inuyasha that they CANNOT be together again since she was death. Of course Kagome worshippers like to act like Kikyo was the one who made Inuyasha follow her when in fact it was Inuyasha himself who stubbornly followed her and wanted to protect her (which is understandable) even when Kikyo told him MANY TIMES to stop.

Kikio was burned with the Shikon jewel. They say that the jewel will grant the wish of someone who wishes upon it. I like to believe the kikios wish was to be with Inuyasha and the Jewel granted it but not in the way she was expecting. She can be with Inuyasha, through Kagome, her reincarnation. In the end, her wish was granted.

I'm back here again after rewatching Inuyasha. This is the most painful episode for me, and the only time I cried. It was so heart-wrenching. I have come to accept that Inuyasha really loved her, and she will always be special to Inuyasha. But even if Naraku wasn't there, they will still not have a happy ending together. Kikyo wants to wish for Inuyasha to become fully human, but the Shikon Jewel never really grants wishes, instead, one will end up inside the jewel to fight the demons.

I tried to hate her. But despite all that , I couldn't hate her... Her life was very definition of tragedy ... Her eyes shows her pain and sorrow ... I'm glad she died in the arms of only person she ever loved..

I believe all characters in the story are the ones who makes Inuyasha possible. They all have a role that makes the story go into progress. So therefore, kikyo and kagome are both in equal terms of making the story possible as well. Because as my teacher taught me, without the other characters, a story wouldn't come to life.

I used to hate her, but she was just misunderstood. she didn’t know, and i feel terrible now. now that i’ve matured, i understand she just felt betrayed, and wanted to get her revenge to finally rest in piece and not feel the dread.
Kikyo was wise and smart, she knew from the start she was already dead and couldn't be with Inuyasha. What could she do? Focus on her mission to destroy the pearl. And so she tried, till the end.

Yo voy viendo más de 5 veces Inuyasha :') es más hermoso volver siempre, cuando tuve una decepción amorosa siempre veía Inuyasha y me hacía reír y llorar... Gracias a Inuyasha pude ser muy fuerte ...

I hated Kikyo, but over time I've come to realize her struggles and challenges, and I've learned to respect her. I was honestly sad, and I actually cried when Kikyo died in The Final Act, it was so heartbreaking. Inuyasha is an anime I will never get sick of tbh.

I don't dislike Kikyo, but I find Kagome did more for Inuyasha. She told him she cared for him as he was, and didn't want him to change. Kikyo wanted him to become human. Kagome accepted him as he was and did teach him a lot, being from a different era and having different views to show him. As for reincarnation....I'll have to agree with Kagome herself and her views, when it comes to that.
@102819975361699021499 i don't know why do you people think just because she suggested that inuyasha became human she did not love him the way he was. She only did that in order destroy the pearl, she never kill him even though inuyasha tried to steal the pearl. She admitted that she felt the same as inuyasha did.
She could've done that without changing him. She wanted him to use the jewel to make him human, I believe. Then she'd destroy it. Not to mention the fact that she's neither ever seen him in full demon form or anything. She's experienced very little of Inuyasha's dark side and preferred to mellow him out. Maybe she loved him, but in my opinion, if she really loved him, she wouldn't have convinced him to want to become a human, which Inuyasha was so clearly against in the beginning. Yeah maybe you can back that up with 'he wanted to make himself better for Kikyo' but I think he would've seriously resented her. We see how much he hates being human on the new moon nights.
I'm just sayin'. 'Us people' aren't completely wrong.
she did go like "if you don't become human ill not be with you" she only suggested and inyasha agreed. But anyway, they had to little time to be with each other, maybe their relationship would have been different without Naraku going into the picture, she barely had the opportunity to experienced love.
They were together for a while, we just weren't shown everything they did together.She may not have said it aloud but she clearly had a problem with him wanting to be a full demon.

I neither dislike nor love Kikyo, she definitely has my respect, I just disliked her actions but I always understood why she did what she did. She is not my favourite character but I do respect her the most.
