To add to the pros. You really get a lot in safety tech. The collision prevention saved my life while I was driving in heavy traffic in the rain. Cars in front stopped abruptly an the car stopped perfect on its own without sliding to within a foot of the car in front.
I turn off my PCS before every drive lmao. I feel my 2023 XSE brake on its own way too often in traffic in New York. Almost CAUSED an accident for me once
I ordered a 2022 back in November 2021, 6MT, and in white (for you Afghan Veterans, you know what I mean). As predicted by the dealership, this Corolla took the 3 months to ship from Japan. Most happy! I’m coming from 9 years of Tacoma trucks and no doubt I will miss their space, but this hatchback is sure fun to drive. With the seats folded down (I’m an empty nester retired guy) I can carry all the gear I always did with my Taco, except love seats, deep freezers, and yard waste shrubbery. I’m super pleased and happy with my options. I chose white since it’s cheaper, and spent the money of 16” alloy rims. My wife even suggested I upgrade that sporty looking rear spoiler (that’s a later Father’s Day upgrade). Here in Canada I’m averaging about 42 miles per Imperial Gallon, or about 6.7 L / 100 kliks. Peace Be The Journey!
Thanks for watching! Glad you're enjoying the Corolla. It was a lot of fun to drive for the week. Listen to your wife about the spoiler, it just makes it look so much better lol.
I love mine. Got it in Nov 2020 to replace my 2019 Mazda3. My 2021 'Rolla is a playful Flame Blue SE 6M with barely 39K. At 32K I replaced those terrible Ensaves with ContiProContact, rotating every 5000. At 2 years I replaced the brake fluid and drained the coolant ( never backflush), oil changes every 4K. I am the only driver and think I will keep this HB until I crack 100K or more! Love it!❤️
Nice! I really missed this hatch and then I got to review the GR and that was a whole other level! My budget wouldn't quite be there for a GR but the standard Corolla was such a great ride. My wife had such a blast in it too.
Same lol. I saw a white one with black roof and it was so nice. It had the factory aero pieces and brought back some fun memories with this one. Thanks for watching!
@@Revmatchmedia I plan on getting an XSE (silver). The only thing I am concern about is the back seat. I am hoping that I can have two people sit in the back comfortably.
The hatchback is a little tight in the back. The sedan is bigger when it comes to the back seat but i don't think it looks as awesome as the hatch lol. If your passengers are your family members, I would take them with you to make sure they feel comfortable.
Traded a 2020 Kia Soul for this beauty in Flame Blue because of Major KIA recall issues (Brittle O-Rings). Left Kia in tears, went to Toyota and drove off happy. I love love love this car. She is so much fun to drive. I do miss the room of the Soul. The limited cargo space in the Hatch is my one disappointment for sure. Hope to have this car for years and years!
Thanks for watching! My wife and I were contemplating the Soul since it has so much more space. The Toyota reliability is nice to have though since it would be the car to run errands in. Hope you enjoy your hatch!
This is so unreal! I’m having the same experience I had to leave my Kia Soul behind because of the recalls and somehow I’ve ended up here with the possibility of owning a Toyota!
It may not be a true hot hatch. But it's a fun economy car. I leased the white nightshade hatch back in October. Still enjoy driving it. Even without a turbo. The 169 horses shine in this little car. Picked this over the other hatches for Toyota reliability an has a real first gear thrown in the cvt ,which is a plus
Thanks for watching! Well it sure was a hot hatch when i was blasting that heater during this crazy Texas snow storm! That CVT was incredible and I HATE CVTs. Regarding the power, they really made set this up to feel like it was a lot more. The only dealbreaker was the rear seating space in the hatch for my kid's seat.

Great review! The 2021 Corolla sedan has 5 inches more rear legroom than the hatchback so you will have no problem installing a child seat back there. The sedan's trunk is also surprisingly more spacious than the hatchback so you fit more cargo in the sedan than in the hatchback.
@@braetonwilson4296 we got to review a 4Runner and my wife loved it and we might go that route as a family car. I might be able to get the hatchback as the second car for everything else.
Great comprehensive review!. Have the '19 SE and love it. But agree with unfortunate smallish trunk and rear seat space though I'm still able to fit my bike without disassembling with seats folded as I did in my previous GTI... Like the basic audio, fit and finish and amazing fuel efficiency. A few gripes, no heated seat with the SE and cabin noise. They skimped on padding. Styling is meh on sedan compared to the hatch which I opted for inspite of it's size drawbacks...
Thanks for watching! Heated seats aren’t as important to me as much as cooled seats are lol. The hatchback is well worth the smaller trunk and the smaller back seat. I have since purchased a booster seat for my kid which he’ll definitely fit in this since he fit in a loaner Lexus LC 500 I had a week ago.
you should watch toyota's video about their CVT, you mentioned you felt like they made 1st gear longer to prevent the wheels from spinning out (assuming you were assuming the CVT was just a regular CVT) but toyota's CVT has an actual real first gear that engages, it was a very smart move and honda now does it too but you should definitely watch their vid about it.
Thanks for watching! Just took a look at the Toyota video explaining the launch gear and that explains the feel i got in the Corolla. It's really smart to set it up that way. I keep seeing the hatchback everywhere and keeps tempting me to go to the dealer lol.
