When I first went to hostel I was about 19 and I saw one of the hostel staff hitting hus 6-7 year old son so badly that even adults will fear that. You know when someone is holding back his hand and when someone is using full force. That kid was mischievous and we weren't fond of him but a 6-7 year old doesn't know anything. Parents make or break them unless thry are born psychopaths which he wasn't.

I never thought that the jingling of a belt buckle could cause immediate joy in a child, this is inspiring. (Coming from someone who still feels a rush of anxiety and the thought of “what did I do wrong” when I hear it.)
    Edit:
I’m not saying I was the perfect child, but I often was punished for the stuff my younger siblings did because we were “supposed to look after each other” despite my siblings being old enough to make their own decisions and despite my parents knowing they barley even listened to THEM. I do believe in punishing intentional bad behavior, but when you’re punished because of something you or your sibling did *by accident* the jingling of a belt buckle sounds more like a siren.
The whole point of parenting is to prep the next generation for the real adult world. Out here in America, it’s 100% illegal to use a belt on another adult as “punishment” because it’s just straight up assault. If you were at work and fucked up and your boss took off his belt to start beating you with it, you and anyone that saw it happen, would call the fucking police. If you were out with friends and said something sarcastic and they slapped you in the mouth, you’d probably never speak with that person again or even file an assault charge.
THATS the real adult world. I am NOT teaching the next generation that doing something accidentally or even having a mild attitude is something to get beaten over. Accidents happen, Wrong choices are made, what’s important is to make up for it and to teach them HOW to. It’s not an easy road, in fact it’s quite difficult, but we have to start somewhere. And if I can change my anxiety to joy using my belt as a swing instead of as a punishment for my kids, that’s where I can start, or can be a step along my path. Our next generation is important, and we need to treat them as such.

Look dont get me the wrong way some parents definitely dont know how to properly discipline their children and take it too far but God says to fear him and your first example is your parents of course he doesn't mean fear in a negative way more like fear the reprocutions "idk if i spelled that right" because he doesn't want us to suffer in the future this world can be cruel gotta make sure your children are ready for everything but of course it all has to come in a loving mannor and if it's something you could clearly talk to them about it you should always speak first but sometimes you need to wip them into shape it really depends on the children every child is different i guess what im trying to say is the belt shouldn't be seen as evil but as a symbol of how painful it could be to not go down the correct path i think idk im still just a child but im happy for my mom wiping me when she did because although at the time i said some mean stuff in my head in the end of the day i knew she wanted the best for me and for me not to suffer when things get tuff and it helped a lot idk i hope this somehow gets some type of point of across God bless yall and gn or gm or good afternoon

@@dondrybones6693I feel like a lot of millennial parents just don't know what they're doing. They don't want to be as harmful as what their own parents were, so they're too scared to discipline, yet continue to have children anyway since it's normalized. It really really depends on what the situation is. Sometimes discipline isn't necessary at all. Just the consequences of your own actions can be enough; for instance, throwing food on the wall then having to clean it up. Having a naughty corner or naughty chair is also effective. If a child keeps running from it then you just keep putting them back until they learn. You have to have patience to be a parent. Physical discipline requires no patience, it's definitely just an easy way out.

But if she saw my eyes break contact with hers for a second she would stop yelling and attack me. First she would use hands then if I looked away again which I honestly sometimes did on purpose out of spite. She would get my fathers old leather trainyard belt. @@6Jenne6La6Flaca6 It depends on what being a friend means to you. Do you allow your friends to do anything around you? Don't you still have boundaries with your friends? If your friend slips up morally (in some cases), would you not lovingly admonish and encourage them to do better with some level of sterness WHILE not beating/hitting them? It would seem as though a friend is exactly what they need at that level of development.
One might say, that this method or mode of parenting may fail but the truth is you can beat your kid and not beat your kid and they can still turn out to be but how you choose to parent says alot about you and what you value and in this specific case on whether or not coporal punishment should be allowed, one of the many questions being asked about your character is this: "Do I value being obeyed over a closer relationship with my child?" because a lot of people do not realize that that at times the relationship with their child is being placed at risk with that style of punishment.
If you do not care about a deep relationship with your child or are willing to sacrifice/put at risk the relationship, I would ask you to reconsider your position/stance but ultimately its up to how you wish to raise your child.
