I used black Sikaflex tonight. On the boat builder forums they say 4200 if you will ever need to remove it and 5200 if its never gotta come off! About to do the intake in my fat jet. I got a 2 quart kit of that "Poxy putty" stuff lol really nervous. Would like to see someone else do it first!
Eric I'm getting ready to install my southern jet and the question is should I put screw up into my jet block through the uhmw. I tapped the holes into that block and my thinking was setting the block resting into the bottom not flush then welding it into place but screwing it down from inside the boat. It does seem like going from the bottom then using a nut inside the boat to help lock those bolts might be a better way. Thanks for the video
There really isn’t a right answer. I’ve done it both ways. The RSRacecraft pump is tapped and the block and bottom holes all line up so I typically put a countersunk bold up through the UHMW, through the bottom plate & block and threaded into the pump. My Southernjet race pumps aren’t tapped so I typically use their holes, drill down through the block and hull plate then tap the hull plate…then run the bolt down from the top, through everything then cut the bolt off flush with the bottom. Both ways have worked fine for me.
Would love to see part 4, awesome work
Mini boat build is on my bucket list...maybe next winter.
Turns into two-three winters, but definitely worth it 😅
That 5200 is strong stuff. I have seen it rip gelcoat off of fiberglass boats when trying to remove parts.
Yeah Buddy !!!!! Our first snow here in the north.....Time to become a shop hermit as well!
Back doing your Mr. Sparkles stuff again Eric. I know happy that makes you! Nothing like a bedazzled Eric! 😂 As Always, May God Bless you and yours! 😇
Another great video. congrats on working with the goop and not getting it on yeah, that never works for me lol
Great stuff... Nice job👌

What kind of wheel/blade are you using in the grinder to cut the hull?
