I've been following along since the very beginning when no prep was just getting started... And while there is definitely a lot of contributing factors to what makes it what it is right now.. but without a doubt it has noticeably grown and he has noticeably more fans than any other real small tire no prep racer out there for a reason.... Never really been to interested in drag racing. I found SRC when I was thinking of putting a V8 in my Sonoma and just looking for videos on how others were doing it. I stayed for the quality content because the family/team just come across as top shelf people. Watched a little street outlaws but didn’t draw me in like SRC family/team. They make racing more relatable and obtainable to more people. All 3 channels are better than anything on tv.. Funny thing is. When I told people I was wanting to V8 my Sonoma I was going to have to tub it and spend a fortune on it. Then I would just show them what Billy was able to accomplish with a basically stock chassis to shut them up.. lol
No other channel I've watched on RUclips makes me feel like part of the family than the SRC family , the behind the scenes stuff , family time , goofing off with Jimmy Dean & Tony & Tess ... you guys are just special .
Having met the majority of them over the past 2or3 yrs. They're some of my favorite people. There's not many people who can just naturally get viewer's involved with their lives. Viewer's get invested in their lives and each person feels like an extension of the family. They're all awesome People and I'm glad to have met them. The Old Man reminds me of my late Father in his looks/mannerisms, its uncanny really. Respect to the whole SRC Crew and Tin Soldiers 😎🏁🤘🔥🇺🇲
Can't explain the in depth conversations I had with Billy and separately the old man over the weekend..meant the world to me..even more down to earth than you already think they are through video..amazing genuine people
The entire Hoskins family are some amazing people.. they've invited countless people into their lives and homes in order to help them grow with their own racing program.
I know this rotates with motivational Monday, but for me THIS is the motivational Monday. The stories that create lifelong memories and good times. This type of stuff motivates me more than anything!
What an absolutely amazing podcast!!! I’m a SRC fan and have been for probably 5-6 years and I love Billy’s honesty and he’s still really humble for the amount of followers and his popularity. I’m stoked that he’s got his S10 running again and I think once he’s got some more testing with it he’ll have it back to winning in no time. His Old Man is really cool too and I enjoy watching his channel as well. The entire family seems to be good people in my book. I really enjoyed this podcast and hearing about how Billy got started with RUclips and so on.
Genuine is just genuine, it stands out a mile away! If you've ever had the chance to meet the SRC fam and actually talk to them, to stand back and watch how passionate they are, how they help others, give information to try and educate people and grow the sport....... that pure honest passion and drive is contagious.
I reside in Texas. I have lived here for 70 years. That being said, my heart is with the family. The picture your family paints is second to none. I was fortunate enough to have had a wonderful experience growing and learning from the best. I loved and still love hot rodding. I still enjoy my 95 Electra glide on the rear wheel. My wife and friends just shake there heads and say, we'll see you when we get there. Yalls content is absolutely golden in my book. Keep dreaming and keep screaming, and tell the Old Man 50 is in the text, not in the heart. Darn, that's more than I've said in ten years. That's how much I appreciate all of yalls content. If it keeps getting better I may stroke out. More than likely I'll just fire up my old shovel head and find some crooked roads. The Lord has already blessed you guys, may he always keep you safe. GTR signing out!😊
I am not a racer but I love SRC. They are why I got into watching these races. Good people, simple people just good Americans!! Your production is way above others. Tommy and Allison totally rock. Great interview. I sub'd you guys as well. I have watched some great stuff from TSR!
First SRC vid i ever saw was an impromptu day race on some narrow two lane in the middle of nowhere Ohio. The S-10 was on it that day, yet obviously pulled way back compared to today. Checked the channel description and sunscribed right away. When i saw those night races at KD with the uphill shutdown i knew this was my kind of channel and it exploded not long after this time. I guess that was 2017 but honestly my old brain forgets stuff. Wish i could find my first original logo black hoodie but pretty sure its a goner. "Loaned" it to my girlfriend but she is now my wife, and she don't remember. Oh well
Billy has lived what I dreamt of as a kid. My first dream was to build top fuel engines. Then I wanted to do excavating then I wanted to build hot rods. Apparently I didn’t have the motivation the kid has. It was really cool to hear him talk about himself a bit. He seems like a hard nut to crack but he’s highly intelligent and seems like a good person. I wish I had his patience. Good job on an excellent video!
That was awesome! Two icons in the small tire racing world just hanging out and talking. I really believe Billy is a big reason small tire no prep has blown up like it has. I mean, there’s a reason he has around 300k followers. It’s because he showed the world a regular person can build a small tire truck and really compete with big names. Everyone wanted to see the journey. Same with TSR, y’all’s company is an inspiration for any small business! The things y’all have accomplished and the amount y’all have grown is pretty incredible. Again, awesome video. Makes me want to go load the truck up and test. (If it wasn’t on jack stands 🤣)
My first legitimate street race shootout, we had the Philly street race team dvd on the player in the powerstroke. Wild to hear someone else say that influenced them.
45:39 that is one of the reasons I religiously watch Bill and Billy’s channel because the editing and “B” role is second to none ,if u are an up and coming you tuber you should study their skills in racing and videos
man so much stuff billy talks about sounds so familiar haha, we just haven't "made it" yet. SRC is a huge inspiration to me and so many other racecar youtubers. Thanks for everything Billy.
I think the reason billy and his family has done so well is because we all can relate to them, whether it’s coming from the racecar side to the hotrodder side and even from the people who just come from the bottom there is something to relate to. It also gives hope to us small guys who maybe don’t want to be big and just want to know that it is possible to do it. Congrats to the SRC team for putting in all their hard work and seeing it pay off. No prep racing wouldn’t be the same without them.
Me and my husband started to follow billy and src about 4 years ago around we have watched other u tubers drag racing but when we saw src we were hooked!! His content is awesome we wait till src video comes out of the races. I feel that billy is a real talented tuner and racer and tommy is talented as well. We just can’t watch one it’s src old man’s garage and gen 2 garage love it all
JT at 1:05:05 says "in the bible..." then gives reference to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John all telling the same story but from different perspectives. Now THAT was a classy touch! Warms my heart to hear drag racers talk about the bible!
I think the Old Mans Garage channel really compliments the SRC channel too. If Billy is too busy to film or something, OMG kinda picks up where SRC left off. Its also really helped Bill Sr kinda live out his dreams as well and spend a lot of time with family. All thanks to Billy and SRC.
Im 60 yrs old. Always hated brackets, heads-up, run what you brung small tire, is always way more fun to watch. No-prep is the affordable way to save drag racing. Thanks, love all y’alls content.
Billy, it's because of you & Tommy, the whole SRC family that's got me hooked! I love watching the old man's garage, which was the SRC channel in the beginning, then there was 3 channels! When I see one of these channels new posts, I drop what I'm doing and tune in! I'm sure you've seen my comments on all 3! My thanks to the hard work you've put into this! You're headed for the big time fame little bro! They say if you have a job you really love, you'll never "work" a day of your life! Raise hell bro! Respect, all the way! Live the dream! ✌️😎🇺🇲
You got me hooked Paul. I commented on nicks channel and you were so cool about it. every channel I watch I can always count on Paul in the comments. Stay cool buddy ✌️💨
Best one yet the inside scoop on the KID I knew Tommy was doing his own tuning after that wheelie in his last one learning whats too much off the line, Awesome show guys 💪💯🇺🇸👊🚗🔧🚦🏁
Great interview of a young man thats living his dream and parents that give both boys and allison and others family love. been following for 5 years and good family etc.
I used to be a huge hater on Billy and SRC then actually started watching every video. Haven't missed one in years and one of their biggest fans now! Billy come back to Joplin!!
Freaking awesome video guys. Absolutely love the content . Side note the moonshine movie was so professional and polished . Would love to see more. Congratulations on the new shop too. Awesome job for Tin Soldiers too
I totally agree with what you said Jason. U either get motivated or unmotivated. I’m 46 years old now and I went to the track for the first time in 1990. I fell in love and have always wanted a race car. Well my dad wasn’t in the same boat. I went to the track with a friend of mine and his dad. Well long story short, I realized it wasn’t going to happen so I went down the wrong road for a long time. 30+ years. I’m now two years sober and I’m building my first car, an 89 no prep blazer. It’s going to be tough and I have a long way to go but I’m now motivated and I’m going to make it happen. No matter what. I’ve actually been 6.00 @118 and that’s decent but I want to go faster. Lol I love what you’re doing. Keep it up
Must admit if there's a race Billy's racing I'll wait the couple of days for quality and hats off to your family for the good work with the filming garage work and giving it the personal family touch
Never seen Billy the kid doing a draw with Charlie Brown and both of y’all being a inspiration!!!!! I love it,love y’all rock on. I used to be a bad boy now I’m just sitting on the couch. But this is way better than anything else!!!
What a Great Video. Nice conversation. I also love the cross over content of Tin Soldier, Jimmie Dale, Tess & Tony, Raggedy Ann, Lucore Automotive. Just a ton of fun. I like the John, Mark, Luke, reference, that made a lot of sense. Thank you for the video.
two lane blacktop is what got me into racing plus I use to watch the NHRA races all the time but thats what got me into racing and once I got my DL I was racing anyone who wanted to race from my school and going to the track every weekend for test and tune and just kept trying to go faster and faster every pass I made
I’ve been watching Bill,Billy and Tommy since the beginning. I always liked the real family feeling. I still think since bill and Billy both like the classic American Graffiti they need to do a deuce coupe to go with the 55. Even if the deuce coupe is a fun driver street car like the 55.
Man, one of the best Podcast episodes I have seen in a long time. Been following SRC for a while and it's very cool to hear the origin story. Subscribed!
Been waiting for this!!! Billy da Kid let's me have hope in the younger generation.. he's built a pretty big empire off having a dream, knowing what he didn't want to do with his life and knowing what he did want to do and lots of hard work and dedication. He's able to employ himself and several members of his family. Also he's got a huge heart. Look at the fact that he's bought several cars and given them to those who really are important in his life.. he's built a huge new shop so that the entire family can continue being successful under one roof..
I talked with JT at Bowling Green 5 years ago and started following Billy about the same time. I met Brad on Midwest Drags It’s great to see all of your successes as the years roll on. Keep killing it.
I appreciate the lookback/insight into the beginnings of this channel and how life was before SRC/OMG/Gen2 got started and gained some traction. Money was tight/life was not easy....I get that - hell, I live that. So congrats for thinking "outside the box" and seeing the potential of internet media, and figuring out how to monetize it, and then actually having the conviction to put that vision into action and the work ethic required to make it happen. Clearly the racing itself isn't paying the bills. I would guess that at best it's a break even proposition, and more than likely not even close to that. And while it's the racing content that drives the channels, if it was just about posting racing videos there are a dozen other channels that do that. IMHO what sets these channels apart are (1) the family and community of friends (2) the quality of the productions is superior to anything else out there, and (3) there are no "cheap" videos....what I mean is while others may post 3,4, or 5 "click bait" videos a week, and competing to see who gets published first, what we get from SRC/OMG/Gen2 are quality content and top notch production, which is well worth waiting for. Congrats and Looking forward to meeting Gen3 (lookin' at you Billy)!
First strip I went to was Hobbs, NM. Ever see a 56 Chevy with chain driven super charger? I did in 1962. Was a car nut years before that. The mechanical part was what got me. Still love the mechanical part even tho I am 82.
Just wanted to thank both of you. You guys are both great examples of solid hard working young men. Thank you for telling your story and being a strong example for others.
This is my favorite RUclips family for sure. Big fan of Junkyard Digs and his whole crew, Pole Barn garage has another great father son duo. I have to say here is where I feel the most at home. Being a Bill JR myself really hooked me, then his dad made a channel, and hell my dad probably would have been best buddies with Bill sr. I see a lot of my dad in him. Which comforts me I guess, I'm sounding weird I know but its true. Thank you Billy for making awesome content, and instead of being selfish and leaving the roost for your own life, you decided that this family is worth sharing. They make it all happen, you saw that and said yup, LETS DO THIS TOGETHER. I'm glad it's worked out for you and have brought you guys up to a more comfortable living situation, keep up the good work guys and gals. Not to mention Tin Soldiers channel in making a podcast and giving the racers a chance to sit down and really take a look at their story on a more broad viewpoint.
enjoyed your podcast, good stuff, enjoyed hearing about both your stories, very interesting , i had watched Bill Sr, on the Old Man's Garage ,we are closer in age, but enjoy both Billy and Tommy and Allison, i love to watch and learn, its amazing how they all function and complete the team work it takes to make a racing operation very successful, i am always amazed how Tommy and Billy love each other and still can have sibling competition, and how the whole family goes out of their way to help others, to me its a driving force , to be successful but have the ability to stop and help others , i am truly amazed watching Tony and his wife, i enjoy them as well, and matt and his family, and all the uncles its a very cohesive family circle , to day was the first time i have gotten an inside look at Tin Soldiers but i like what i see, and hear, you have a very good attitude, toward life and what your part in it is, always be true to your self and God, you cant go wrong .
Great interview! This was so informative to us that joined late. It's crazy to think this all happened at my local dragstrip in Mt. Vernon.. i wish i was racing on 4 wheels instead of 2.....
Thank you for sharing the journeys of your and bring the stories. I truly appreciate your faith and having the strength and the confidence to share Christ and finding a way to witness to a community that doesn’t really honor him. I just want to say Thank You and really appreciate and enjoy your content. I’m getting ready to purchase a Tin Soldiers T-shirt and really looking forward to wearing it proudly manly because of your views and values. Thank you again Brother Man.
You guys do a amazing job on your videos top notch compared to the other u-tube videos that I watch ….most of all I love that the whole family is apart of it!!!
Absolutely 💯Great Content for your adventures and your Family and Friends Have always been a Fan of SRC, OMG, GEN2 a fan of Billy for about 5 years I was old school racer Appreciate all of your Videos Tin Soldiers are a great 👍 Have a Great Day 👍 God Bless America 🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸
So true, I love src and the Oldmans channel then Tommy's channel I watch sometimes, I'll always check on it and like it but don't always watch it. I'll always support it though just like tin soldiers. Great 👍 channel
When y'all were talking about influences and movies then street outlaws and their influence, i can definitely see that in the younger generation, but just before that we even had that show called Pass Time where you tried to guess thr ET and who would win. Drivers had like 30 sec to answer questions from the on scene judges who would put up their predictions and of course we could do that at home. I used to call my dad and we would watch the show together while on the phone. Dad was permanently disabled from an on the job accident but still had his wits about him and taught me to love drag racing and of course cars in general. Dad just lived a block away and i took care of him daily for 25 years but i wasnt always there and maybe after work in the evening when the show come on we called each other and bonded that way. Around same time there was Pinks. That show was big and i think it was 2nd season when they came to Milan dragway. We went there in person and that was by far the most crowded id ever seen that track. Dad went to that event too, on his amigo scooter and took off. Couldnt find him for almost 8 hours! Biggest influence for me as a street racer however has to be raised in Detroit. With a name like motor city we lived up to that. All the legendary talk came to a head in the late 80s everyone was back on the streets and things got crazy! Seeing 8 sec cars racing on the street in 1990 was so freaking huge! I could go on and on with this but rather hear you fellers talk. So let me get back to the vid..
I absolutely think Billy is responsible for making no prep as big as it is Been watching him almost from the beginning
I've been following along since the very beginning when no prep was just getting started... And while there is definitely a lot of contributing factors to what makes it what it is right now.. but without a doubt it has noticeably grown and he has noticeably more fans than any other real small tire no prep racer out there for a reason.... He has definitely helped the explosion of no prep.

Lol I love what you’re doing. Keep it up
Two leaders talking car stuff love em both
Awesome! Much respect for tin soldiers, and SRC
Thank you for the video.
two lane blacktop is what got me into racing plus I use to watch the NHRA races all the time but thats what got me into racing and once I got my DL I was racing anyone who wanted to race from my school and going to the track every weekend for test and tune and just kept trying to go faster and faster every pass I made
That's awesome 🤘
I’ve been watching Bill,Billy and Tommy since the beginning. I always liked the real family feeling. I still think since bill and Billy both like the classic American Graffiti they need to do a deuce coupe to go with the 55. Even if the deuce coupe is a fun driver street car like the 55.
Use to watch street outlaws..now I don't care for it at all....but the SRC family and friend's..I'm all over that.also Nick from Hustling Horsepower.
I love SRC’s teasers! I get emotional thinking about how much drag racing means to me when I watch them.
This is an amazing episode
Awesome story Billy! You for sure put Ohio on the map for the "stuff", that happens..
Hell yea Awesome interview
Great garage time listening! Thank you!
SRC and the old man’s Chanel has influenced me in all kinds of ways 👍.
Just wanted to thank both of you. You guys are both great examples of solid hard working young men. Thank you for telling your story and being a strong example for others.
Much appreciated!
Thanks for sharing guys
Awesome video thanks guys
Glad you enjoyed it
enjoyed your podcast, good stuff, enjoyed hearing about both your stories, very interesting , i had watched Bill Sr, on the Old Man's Garage ,we are closer in age, but enjoy both Billy and Tommy and Allison, i love to watch and learn, its amazing how they all function and complete the team work it takes to make a racing operation very successful, i am always amazed how Tommy and Billy love each other and still can have sibling competition, and how the whole family goes out of their way to help others, to me its a driving force , to be successful but have the ability to stop and help others , i am truly amazed watching Tony and his wife, i enjoy them as well, and matt and his family, and all the uncles its a very cohesive family circle , to day was the first time i have gotten an inside look at Tin Soldiers but i like what i see, and hear, you have a very good attitude, toward life and what your part in it is, always be true to your self and God, you cant go wrong .
Great video. Good interview Billy!
I met you at ober mountain last week I told you I’d subscribe. Here I am lol hope y’all come down and race at English mountain soon
Another great podcast with two awesome people!!
Great interview! This was so informative to us that joined late. It's crazy to think this all happened at my local dragstrip in Mt. Vernon.. i wish i was racing on 4 wheels instead of 2.....
Wow im glad i watched this.....to find out you really did earn that name ...BILLY THA KID....A REAL OUTLAW HAHA!!

Keep doin interviews just like this. Great job
billy this was great loved hearing your story
Excellent interview, bless you guys!
