Andy Murray one of the most underrated players in tennis history. Many people forget how good he was ( 10 Grand Slam Finals in this decade 2010-2019, tied 3rd with roger federer). Sadly for him he played during the Big 3 Era. Could have 8+ Grandslams if he played in a weaker era.

Indeed - nice to see someone else acknowledge this. Murray is easily a Top 15 of all time player. I’d say he’s probably around #12 or #11. In most eras he’d be a dominant force with maybe one other major rival. Instead he’s competing vs #3 #2 and #1 - the GOATs
His career haul is actually remarkable considering the calibre of opposition

@@lukijanbugarski3476 You don't know that. Injuries happen in sport, it may have nothing at all to do with his style. You literally have no idea and are talking out your ass. It could've been any number of things that maybe only the people closest to Murray know. Hip injuries that severe are pretty rare in tennis, I've never heard of it happening before, and there are plenty of players current and from the past who played a similar style to Murray who never had such issues. If Federer played like Murray, you'd say Federer's knee surgery was caused by his style. But he doesn't, so you don't, but you do with Murray. Do you see my point. Murray is/was one of the fittest dudes on the tour, so we really don't know what caused his hip injury. Unless he tells us, it's all pointless speculation. If what you say is true, he would've changed his style by now (he hasn't).

Murray's maniac play in second half of 2016 cost him his career by couple of years, I guess. He became World No. 1 but ended up injured and now is a player unlikely to go deep let alone win Slams. A very good player and fighter nevertheless.

Invented Caesar his hip was giving him issues before that tho. He did push the second half of 2016 very hard but I think it was more to do with not taking enough time off after that season coupled with the fact that Lendl was pushing him extremely hard that offseason. I remember interviews where Murray said Lendl wanted him to push harder in that training block.

Djokovic has an advantage over any other defender in another way. Yep his slides and splits. Whenever he thinks the ball is too fast n too far to chase he tries to run a bit and within a second slides or splits to an almost 180 degrees stretch and bangs the ball and recovers to original posture without losing the balance, though sometimes he falls down but here too he comes back to balance very quickly. No defender has tried to copy n own that skill completely until now!

Novak, Andy and you can say Rafa have ruined tennis with these crappy defensive rallies. Each one going beyond 15 shots....what a snooze fest. Zzzzzz. Add in the court speed and you're done.

Are you guys serious? Djokovic vs Murray in defense? A loooong way apart, Djokovic is King of defense by long country miles.

I don't think they are very smart...they are both a mile away from the net and no drop shots?

The drop shot was simply not utilized as much in the past, but now all the players are so good at getting the ball back in play that they all need drop shots to finish the points or only the ones that have enormous talent in all of the 4 s's can survive (strength, speed, skill, stamina).

I don't see why you have to drag him down when this video is specifically dedicated to showing two of the best defenders in the game.

I don't know about head to head, but I know Murray beat Federer many times, but obvious ly couldn't beat Nadal on clay.
