Thank you! A true master & innovator of the drums, 4-way independence and dynamics (the fact that he didn't muffle his drum heads was proof of that). His contribution to drumming & music (Casiopea) is extremely important. That system he developed with Yamaha to be a solo artist on the drums was incredible. It's a shame that he doesn't get mentioned in current drum circles on YT. The footage for his videos need to be remastered to high definition before they are lost to time. {sorry for the rant}
"Rant"? Hardly. I see it as a measured and cogent statement. And I completely agree with the idea of remastering. This is musically brilliant stuff that is not just for drum buffs. (I have the VHS cassette in storage somewhere...but now only DVD players ☹ )
Wow if only 3/4 of the drummers in US could have 1/4 of your talent, our music would be fantastic again. This boring 2/4 drum beat that everyone plays for every rock song ever, is absolutely horrendous. Do we have no rhythm in the US? UGH
@@SeanAsher-k7pthere was no insults 😭 i’m just telling you to look. This was literally recorded in 1998. Those beats you’re complaining about were still the main beats playing back then too.

@@SeanAsher-k7pand if you want a band listen to tool. Danny Carey is probably the best drummer ever and their music is extremely complex
@@SeanAsher-k7p and if you want jazz fusion like akira plays, snarky puppy is my favorite band out of that genre
