Falsettos is technically set in the 70s and 80s, Act I is in 1979 and Act II is in 1981, also if you love watching Andrew and Christian together you have to watch Thrill of First Love it’s one of my favourite numbers in the show (also doesn’t spoil anything you don’t already know)
To react to the whole show, I recommend splitting it up by song - from what I've seen, songs get taken down significantly less than larger chunks. It's also a lot easier for Falsettos than other shows as there are 0 scenes with just dialogue. In fact, the only spoken words are ad-libs and a single moment in the middle of one of Trina's solo songs.
this show is phenomenal! It's entirely sung through and i think you would really enjoy it. The lesbians next door don't show up until the second act but they are a pretty influential part to it. I really think you would enjoy it! If you want to react to a singular number i'd suggest four jews in a room bitching it's the titular number.
yes, there are some funny moments and catchy songs, but it's a sad, tragic show with some really heartbreaking scenes. i saw this in 1992 on broadway with mandy patinkin...
In the beginning of the song during the therapy, that woman was telling him how when she goes home, she turns on the tv, and there’s an add for starving Ethiopians. Literally at the end of the video I got an add for starving Ethiopians.
Yeah and it's fun to watch people suffer once they get to the end. My friend when she made me do it said, "this broke me I need someone else to suffer with."
such a good show, I remember driving about 40 minutes to the only theatre it was playing in near me TWICE! so grateful they recorded it for new people to discover. also I got really into jazzercise recently and it’s really fun, you can find a bunch of videos for free on youtube :) and I loved your racquetball story lol
1:23 Hook up I mean it was more Mendel towards her 3:40 yep also I just learned/Googled what yuppie means also hearing this after the 2nd track, and then Thrill of First after-- I And the neighbors 10:06 *promptly cries*
I know this might be too much to ask but could you watch the moving parts documentary by Trixie Mattel? I don’t know how much you know about drag but it’s an amazing documentary regardless that I think you’d really enjoy. It could be somewhere like vimeo or daily motion so that you don’t get copyrighted or maybe just edited down for youtube, but it’s a really amazing film.

This is my favorite show and I can't wait for the day where you hopefully watch the whole thing
There are so many fun moments in this show. The music is amazing and in my opinion, it is definitely worth watching.
It's really fun watching you speculate on what happens. I won't say if you're even close to the truth, because spoilers. But it's a phenomenal show.
the first act is late seventies and the second is early eighties
Please just watch the whole show it’s just so amazing
