The best scene was where the Tony Shalhoub character was the only one not fazed by the transportation. When he asks Tim Allen’s character what is wrong with everyone else, Tim’s quick “dunno, let’s go” was masterful in its understatement.
Just to be clear, Allen's character hadn't seen the aliens in their true form by that point. He was actually as clueless as Tony's character in that scene.
Tony's character was actually supposed to be stoned but the studio did not want to show him smoking weed. That is why he is eating snacks and looks so calm and laid back.
@@WallaceBeery point taken. To be fair, the crew was already upset by the transport, so it was funny how at least one of them didn’t give a shit, lol. About the aliens true form: It was never explained why they felt the need to disguise their true appearance. Language, ok, but it’s not likely the crew in the show never saw weird aliens.
They also wanted to keep it not much past 1-1/2 hours (and failed, but the deleted scenes would’ve made it worse). Also they seemed a bit redundant, albeit hilarious.
@@tishtashtishtashYeah, and they had to edit the scene with Sigourney Weaver's character (Gwen) because they wanted this film with a PG rating. Bullshit if you ask me.
I love how Tech Sergeant Chen BS'd his way through the technical stuff, making it look like he was helping the guy think for himself. And he STILL comes out looking brilliant. XD
The best part is that Chen probably started figuring things out faster than everyone else in spite of the fact he spent probably half the movie stoned.
I love this movie. As someone who has grown up watching all the Star Trek series I laughed my socks off at some scenes. I really wished they’d made more of them .
I love how they misinterpret Sargent Chen's "What does that mean?" and "So..." as being something a mentor would say rather than someone who literally has no clue what you're talking about. And then the pay off: "Sargent Chen, you're a genius!" Brilliant scene. Too bad they had to delete it. There's a cut at 1:08 in that scene and I wonder what was in that section.
Sigourney Weaver really looked amazing in this movie…. Also looking at these Aliens the Character Sheldon Cooper from Big Bang Theory makes a lot more sense now 😂
Sigourney Weaver was absolutely stunning as a blonde and very funny. No one talks about it but during the end sequences of the film her shirt is opening more and more😜😆😅😄
A couple of years ago, while watching Galaxy Quest on DVD, the player packed-up. It just froze and we couldn't get it going again. Sent it to be repaired, but the shop said they had to replace it. Weeks later, we realised with horror... the disk had still been in the old machine. ARGHHHH!!! Gone forever! (True story) It's still one of my favourite films and that first scene is perfect.
Don't worry I'm sure they'll release a "Special edition" with a red thingy or something to replace the old green thingy with the scenes deleted... nice vid.
I can appreciate why these scenes were deleted. We saw this awesome movie when it was in the theatre, have the DVD and continue to enjoy it when it shows up on the boob tube. For those of you who haven't actually viewed the movie, Sigourney exposes her cleavage, in increments, throughout the film. (YOW!!!!) "By Grabthar's Hammer, by the suns of Warvan, you shall be avenged!", "Pedal to the metal!", "Never give up, never surrender!"
Thanks for the upload. And..I'm old enough to have watched the REAL Wallace Beery...and John Dehner, John Payne...etc. This was the "Airplane" of the Sci Fi genre...a terrific film, totally re-watchable unlimited times.
I wanna see the R-rated version of Galaxy Quest. We all know that in the dressing room scene, Tommy says "you are so full of shit" just watch his lips. Same with Sigourney Weaver when she says "Fuck that!" to the chompers. They edited it down to get a pg-13.
some of those scenes were hilarious.....WHY DELETE THEM? Especially the scene at the blue button...how did Gwen all of a sudden have an open suit? Never explained.
Pacing. Dragging that scene on was not good for the feel of that scene as they were already in the throws of making it feel like they had no time left. It's a great scene, but it would have been too long. C'mon, if you watched the movie, you would have to agree that the countdown was great without the alien intervention? I say this from a totally non-biased platform.
ghostspirit52 Those are natural. She has always had that nice shapely figure. She also had more talent and respect for herself, then to most women in Hollywood. So through her career, she kept her clothes on, unless the scene legitimately called for showing some skin. There is one movie that she went topless in. You can tell those are natural not silicone.
This is so weird: all the scenes are really funny, but they are not scored. Without any music but only with the engine hum in the background - they are all weirdly eerie! All of these are great, by the way, dunno why they were cut :/
Yep. When he says "What does that mean?" He is literally without a clue as to what it means, but THEY think he is testing them. Written and acted so well by all. And really funny. Too bad it didn't make it into the final print.

WOW.. i had to goto imdb to confirm this. Saw Rainn Wilson in some of his earliest work, i never knew he was on this show, very interesting, as i was a huge Office fan
Yeah, like, they didn't even show that much except for her bra and that's as far as it went before Gwen made the door squash them (Sarris' cronies). She wasn't even topless in that scene. If she was, then this wouldn't be on YT and they would've had a reason for editing it out. They would've edited it out either way because they wanted this to have a PG rating and this was a little too risqué for a PG rating (it's not even nearly as bad as what we see on the hub today)
huh, i thought it was just a running gag seeing how everything is set to show, as she said in earlier scene, all they remember me for are my boobs, until you i saw this deleted scene
The joke is already well represented in the film's final version, which features an ever-increasing décolletage for her. All of the characters resist the stereotypical roles they played on the tv series, yet inevitably they fulfill them. Weaver's character's feminist sensibilities have her resist the fact that her character is the only one of the crew repeatedly sexualized (and it's somewhat feminist of the filmmakers to make this a point of satire), but despite herself she finds herself fulfilling the increasingly sexy role. As I say, the joke is already clear in the film; this deleted scene takes it a bit into the heavy-handed territory for me.
ronaldessi well, the point was, she was bothered by her boobs taking center stage, but in reality, her boobs actually saved everybody and so she naturally took on this role she was initially detesting.
Okay, NITPICK. How did she know the blast section 19 designation(which brought down the door) when she wasn't familiar enough about the ship to remember the chompers were a significant feature of the ship's interior. Either some details besides just quoting the computer suddenly came back to her, or that particular door was a distinct feature in a scene her character was in during the tv series run. Cool scene though.

This movie was hilarious! Wish they did a sequel
There was talk of a sequel years ago, but it ended after the death of the wonderful Alan Rickman.

For me it is one of the best scenes in the show. Deleted scene? Really?
He displayed good leadership - almost like something House MD would do stand around and look smug - until the JNR's figure it out.
A lot of these scenes were real stinkers. I can see why they weren't developed.
I'm pretty sure it was left in the movie.
