There is an easier way used at Official BMC (MG) dealerships ( and professional Brit car mechanics) in the 60s-70s. Rotate engine only twice and adjust all 8.

Cool...with the rubber bumper cars it's so easy to put a socket on the crank bolt and turn it. I remember my 73 was not as easy though!
