Teams commit penalties during every game, it's just gonna happen. What made me cringe was how bad the penalties COULD have been against Ole Miss. Go back and re watch the game. Ole Miss has a bad habit of holding, especially that O line. I just re watched the game and our first drive that resulted in a TD contained so many holds that were not called it's not even funny. It's like the refs were afraid to call it because we commit so many. Go back and watch how many very obvious holds there were and then tell me I'm lying.
Suppose to have a good deep running back roster. Henry Perrish injured and you still forcing him out. And barely running the ball. What happened to Thomas and Bentley?

Last year we lost to a better georgia,team and a comparable Bama team who was the one team that had a better coach..today we were outplayed by a good but weaker team, and outcoached by a good but weaker coach. I have a hard time believing the team or coaches came in thinking easy win..but they obviosly did..if they play/coach up to potential we can win out..if they let even 10% of today's weak/bad play/coaching creep into practice or games they can easily lose 4 or 5 of the next 5 games. Hell if they practice/think/or play like today..florida could beat them to..

I’m a Kentucky fan & I thought Kentucky would be the one faking injuries on defense. I do think Ole Miss is good. They should have run the ball & worked the intermediate so they could get tempo going. I would be sick if I were an Ole Miss fan because you know with a better offensive gameplan you win that game...OR have a safety over the top on 4th & 7. Or hit the field goal. That was a game Kentucky fans are used to having & used to losing. UK’s front 7 is legit though I will say that. Really good. But I think Lane got overconfident once UK’s best corner (Hairston) was ruled out. It almost cost UK when they gave up their own 4th down.

Kirby Smart made the remark that the best teams have an elite defensive line and offensive line. As you can see, we do not. All this hype about our o-line can be put to rest. We have an average SEC o-line that is about to be dog-walked by South Carolina if we don’t improve.
Its ok to have an average SEC o-line this average o-line can win bowl games against other conferences but in the SEC, Kiffin needs to adjust and should have know better he's not a rookie coach. First thought is for the running game to work you need to work in a powerback like Rashad Amos. Yea against scrimmage teams, Parrish/Jones will do well but not against SEC D-lines/backers

We’re all crazy people for expecting playoffs this year. Lane doesn’t have the X’s and O’s skill to compete with high level coaches. Whether we like it or not, he just doesn’t have that in his tool kit. The offense needs more diversity, we HAVE HAVE HAVE to mix in running backs because Harlem is nothing but a solid change of pace. Get it together and let Doo and Amos get touches. We need physicality in the run game. Create touches for Juice, Preiskhorn and Watkins. We can’t scheme for just one receiver. On defense, you have to figure out the secondary because they can’t cover a wet fart. There are so many problems on this team that tie back to coaching, and our fanbase spent way too much money and committed too many resources for this staff to not utilize what we paid for. I don’t want to hear another word about the fanbase until Lane shows us he has it in him to perform when he has a competent coach across the field from him

Dont put the blame or unpreparedness solely on weis or kiffin. I saw this comin but thought OM could squeak through. The running game was gonna get stuffed and Dart pressured. Dart needed to spread the ball around today and instead went predictably to Harris all day (his fav) for short gains whereas where the hell was the seam route to the TE Prieskorn? How about some tosses over to Juice or Caden? With a suspect OL you need power runners and Ole miss starts a 180lb RB and surprise hes already injured facing an SEC D. This Kentucky D is the perfect recipe for a QB who quickly gives up on his receivers and puts his head down. This is always the problem with dual-threat QBs. Note how much better Altmeyer is doing this year over at Illinois -> trust yer receivers & pass first give the routes a chance then run if in trouble.. hear that Dart?.. not oh Ill give em 2 seconds and tuck and run myself. I'm disappointed with the offensive coaches and their game plan, I'm disappointed with Dart and his lack of spreading the ball around (Tre Harris is a beast but we have more than one good WR), I'm disappointed with the secondary, im disappointed with the fake injuries...
I've been following Ole Miss for more than 50 years, and I would say that it's comforting to see that things are back to normal. You know, the Rebels being hyped to some degree, and then crashing back to earth. Being reminded that you are on the bottom rung of the SEC ladder. But I try to hold out a little hope.

I intentionally waited until after a night's sleep before I posted my feelings, so that I didn't just have a knee jerk rant, but I feel as pissed off today as I did last night. I've literally never been so disgusted with the Rebels in my 57 years! Tens of millions of dollars to coaches and players, a record crowd packed the Vaught and stayed until the very last play of the game, a schedule that was taylor made for a championship season and yet we still found a way to fuck things up and be the same old Ole Miss. There wasn't a single bright spot in that whole game. Coaching sucked, offense sucked, defense sucked, field goal kicking sucked, even Dart was off. Total collapse. Embarrassing. And only a week from when I was finally convinced that this wasn't the Ole Miss of the past and that we could finally start allowing ourselves to feel like we could win every game. One game later and we get a reality bitch slap.

Dart is an amazing athlete, has a great arm and is accurate enough. Having said that, I have to go back to what I've been saying for 2 years, being able to go through reads quickly is not something you can learn. He doesn't even have confidence to hit the 2nd or 3rd read without getting picked off. Again, this type of QB can win a ton of games, but without an all time great supporting cast it's tough to win against great defenses.
My untrained and less knowledgeable football expert level mind has these 5 questions that I have been wondering for a couple of weeks now..
1. We say that we have quality receivers and TEs. But the opposition always knows that we will throw to #9. Or run it. Why?
#2. #21 and #0 are incapable of going through the SEC gauntlet. #0 could be a better fit for 4th qtr. Why not unleash others that we are using to warm the bench.. Coaches call this shot. But we are begging them to reconsider their chosen options. They could do better.
#3. Our DBs? Surely they can do better and turn to look for the ball sometimes.
#4. Why don't we utilize intermediate routes more.. like some slants.. What happened to #11 and #19? Why are we afraid to call on them for intermediate routes behind the LBs?
#5. TEs are underutilized. Why?
I hope our young players have some true leaders among the group and they step up accordingly. Very few teams go undefeated so not all is lost. Chin up!
Still believe in our Rebels. Season is still unfinished business for us. We still have everything we wanted to achieve this season right in front of us. We must learn from this defeat and adjust accordingly and keep fighting it out every play for the remaining season. We can do this. Hotty Toddy! Go Rebels!
I'm a UK guy, so Ole Miss fans should relax you guys got a great team and will be in the playoffs, if not I would be surprised. Many people are not giving UK much credit, it drives me crazy that everyone keeps getting hung up on South Carolina. UK probably wins 7 out of 10 if they played 10 in a row, we basically played a half against an inferior opponent and the gamecocks were pushed, so there is something playing inferior opponents but the SEC is so tough you can't play great teams all the time.

Nice to see the arrogant Mississippi Rebearsharks humbled. They've become quite full of themselves after running the score up on 4 scrubs.
SO many things to analyze/criticize. But one of the most important factors is that our defense simply cannot function without committing penalties. WHY...WHY...would Trey Amos literally grab the right arm of the KY receiver? It was like he was trying to arm wrestle him! And NO NEED. The ball was thrown high. The next most important factor is Dart simply was off today. All those amazing strikes he threw in the first 4 games were off target today. It likely was a result of the HORRIBLE O-Line play. Dart could never settle in the pocket, and when he did he was just "off" enough to make huge difference. And WHY aren't we using Prieskorn? Lane can no longer blame lack of talent. Carter gave him a blank check to get the best talent available. Maybe it's true that Lane folds under pressure. I don't want to believe it. But......Now I just hope the team doesn't quit on him.

I can only think of one officiating mistake in college football that decided the outcome of a game: Colorado getting an extra down against Missouri way back in the 90s. That clearly was wrong and changed the outcome of the game and the entire college football season.
If it is not the pick six by Kentucky against Georgia being called back it is Barion Brown pushing off on a 63 yard reception on 4th and 7 at Ole Miss. Sorry, but that is the normal flow of officiating football and had nothing to do with the outcome of either game. If they had to call every hold, every interference, every facemask, etc. the game would move like a snail. The game is fast, most of the calls are subjective judgement calls, and the officials are human. They are probably doing the best that they can to not interfere and to let the players play.
It really gets tiresome when every time a game doesn't go their way these fan bases disrespect the winning team and say that one call/non-call by the officials decided the game.

Playing 4 cupcake teams prior to this one had to have warned you. There's a big difference in playing 4 school for blind schools than an SEC caliber defense. They had to know Ky's performance against Georgia would indicate a real battle.
