The textured looking open work stitch part that is at the waist should be up at the bust instead. The design makes the middle of the person look larger than the top.
If the idea is not to expose the bra, by putting that open textured look below the bust then a smaller hook should have been used to create a tailored or cinched-in look. . . But I don't think that would really work as well as making the sleeves and bust with the open stitch, and have the solid stitch across the middle, and leave the lower part as is, perhaps finishing out the neckline and the top and wrists of the Raglan sleeves like the hem/waistband.
Well that is the way that I will do it because I am not designing or wearing or making anything for myself that will make me look fat or fatter. I have always had a knack for making myself look slimmer even when I was size 10 Slim, before losing weight and becoming a model in Fashion/Clothing Design School. In school we learn placement of colors and textures, Design Elements and seams to enhance or create Illusions and distractions, to make the brain see what we want it to see, to create a perception, hide perceived figure flaws.
The placement of these stitches is just all wrong. It may be practical choices but it will do nothing for the figure.
