I watched their “Chill Bill XG TAPE #1” freestyle for the first time and they absolutely killed it. You rly need to check that out. It’s just Jurin and Harvey. They also just appeared on the REACT RUclips channel playing a don’t sing or dance challenge. Their personalities are just too damn cute in that video

They would be considered Asian pop (apop) or global pop (gpop) as opposed to kpop, jpop, or cpop because their target audience is a global audience not just Japan or Korea.
@@KiraNB087 they have said they are a global group, not kpop group which means they do not represent kpop, they represent themselves. They are based in Korea solely because kpop is getting far more global attention than jpop or cpop, so they can reach their target audience more efficiently.
Sorry guys they are not Jpop. They are a global group inspired by hip hop and r&b. Their songs are in English. They only do the trilingual rap performances and behind the scenes but not on official releases.
@@FFreaked Yes they're all Japanese (Harvey is half Australian, Hinata is half Korean) but whereas JPop/KPop traditionally promotes to and produces mainly for the local and sometimes regional scene, XG's marketing goal has been to bypass straight to the english speaking Western market, hence all their official releases being fully in english and their management downplaying any JPop/Kpop labelling. Hope that clarifies! I just say they're RnB/pop girl group a lot like any of the classics, eg Destiny's Child, TLC, Spice Girls, etc lol
Although their pronounciation in songs is good, they are not fluent when speaking. They are still not confident to do full interviews. Maya is the only member that's 100% fluent because she went to an international school in tokyo. She speaks better English than Japanese.

Yeah all english, so not j-pop at all. There just Japanese and are out of Haoan not Korea. They are with Avex which us Japanese. Same with Hikaru from Kep1er is with.
They're not K-Pop either. XG trained in Japan for 5 years but 2 years in Korea for preparations since the start of Pandemic. Jurin and Chisa are already with AVEX Japanese Academy for 5 years already before moving to Korea. They're going back and forth.
