- In this video, I outline the recent decline of popularity Friend or Foe has been facing, and why I think the server is performing poorly.
What is Friend or Foe? Friend or Foe is a PvP server where PvP randomly toggles on and off. The SMP is made of 4 members: SB737, ClownPierce, Mini Muka, and Quiff. There is also a mysterious member known as "Server Assassin", who's only goal is to kill the other 4. The last man standing wins it all.

In my opinion the clown sb deal was the dumbest idea. Like if you agree
One way thing they could start doing better is being more consistent. They said they’d upload every weekend, but that obviously hasn’t been the case. I get that they have things come up, but consistency would definitely help.
They are fairly consistent aside from the 2 times they stopped

Things they need and COULD OF improved on:
-Introducing the Server Assassin In a better way so people dont think its scripted
-More drama (Fights, Revenge, betrayals ect)
-Consistent Uploads (Especially Quiff)
- More server Assassin fights

i dont think revenge and betrayals should be done to the extent of other servers like lifesteal as it wasnt like that in the original series, and i feel like when picking the members having ppl on a more equal level of pvp like the first season would of been better there felt like large gaps in pvp ability between the members from the early fights
the main problem i have with the series so far is definetely a giant lack of fights. The thing that got me hooked on this series in the first place were the epic fights happening when the series first started (especially episode 3 of clown's pov). I feel it's about time for sb and clown's deal to finally end, also server assassin should definetely be used more, maybe for a potential rematch with clown (clown did mention preparing for a rematch with SA some episodes ago). Quiff should finally upload forf bro
yeah i felt like during the thing to find out if clown is guilty or not we should of clicked guilty more *AND NOT RIG THE VOTES* alot of the ppl ive seen talking in the dc channel at voted not guilty were long time fans of clown where on sb's side it was less ab being loyal to sb and more ab the series and actually seeing if clown was guilty or not (personally i think he is guilty as he definetly saw SB and was alrd on edge for like 5min before spotting him so turning around and hitting him felt deliberate, maybe not to kill but as a delay or cheek atk idk)
in my opinion they should add more life quests. that makes the members more likely to fight as loosing a life wont be that big of a deal but also server assassin would still play a big part in it

They should allow villager trading so that it doesn't take 20 years for a member to recover from a fight. This will help the fights to become more frequent.
No not at all. Players would havd infinite gapples, armor, and regen sources and fights will never end
@@tjfnbr3870 well then they should use a kit like the lifesteal season 3 kit so that there is a limit on how many pearls and gapples a player can carry plus there is not netherite armor. It's make fights more frequent and shorter.
Some things to add on is that remember, SB has an entire hardcore series plus extra channel content to deal with, clown has lifesteal season 5, and quiff has typical quiff things. This leaves mini, who posts forf pretty much exclusively, but with no other members online, that means he can’t do anything either. If this series is gonna get revived or at least back to the views it got before the Clown and SB deal, there needs to be a schedule, they need Quiff to log on, and between ALL of that, they still need to see how they can keep their old content without forf taking too much time. If they do this only, i think this pretty much revives the series to its former self, but if they don’t do it, i don’t think things are going to be better here on out. Yes, they can add something new, like more frequent assassin appearances, but it would just get stale over time. Idk though, i really want this series to shine like in series 1, but with the current state of forf, I dont know what will happen from here.

One problem in this season is member power inbalance
Clown destroys SB in a fight
SB destroyes quiff in a fight
Quiff destroyes mini in a fight
if there is no item cap limits for like god apples then clown can grind 64 god apples like he did on lifesteal and destroy eveeryone including serverassassin
Yeah, but let's not act like there wasn't a smaller, but still relevant power imbalance in season 1. SB and Squid were the most balanced, but SB clearly shined the most in close quarters combat. BigB was on a level below them and Tom was even lower, similarly to Quiff and Mini. I think it was just small enough then to make it less noticable to the average viewer.
The thing is, Quiff SB and Clown don’t need the series to do well, it’s Mini who does
mini is a twitch streamer mostly who has another channel with 100k

So MiniMuka was a youtuber SB played with back when he did Bedwars streams and Xbox hide and seeks. He was pretty cool and I'm glad to see he's getting back into MC
Personally, I think that the main problems are the terrible upload schedule, and the fact that the life token machine was removed. Also, Server Assassin (Sharpness/Ferre/Mugm) is a great idea. I don’t know why everybody thinks it’s scripted. But great vid as always! Keep of the effort; mad respect.
It's not sharpness cuz if u saw his fight against clown he tries to go for combos but assassin mostly crit spams and clown is better than sharpness in smp kit
@@h4m1m I mean to be fair, I did see the fight, and SMP kit was pretty even, but I do think that Sharpness is the least likely out the 3 I listed. Also, I forgot to say that it could be Minemanner or ItzRealMe.

Life token machine was probably removed to prevent people from getting 11 lives like BigB in season 1
The life quests are much more entertaining in my opinion as it isn’t just grinding for emeralds but actually doing quests

Something else you have to keep in mind is there are like 5-6 years of people rewatching the original season of friend or foe adding onto what the original views were

I 100% agree with the lack of pvp being a major factor in the decline of friend or foe, The series shifted from a pvp server to a Quest server
i think it was mentioned in one of the members' vids, but people were moving, like clown to america. Clown dominates and escapes a lot since, ofc, he is a ls member and is pretty good at SMP (like the gamemode on tier tests), so it's hard to trap him and beat him simce the other 3 aren't as skilled at pvp as him. Just my opinion tho, nice vid.
(Also there is a chance that server assassin is a giy called FerreMC, since it would make sense with his ping and he is one of clown's friends. He's also pretty good at pvp, which is probably a reason on how clown died)
The serious is not going to do better without a consistent upload schedle, without more pvp action, without more deep story and lore, and without a void in clown and sb's deal

Tbh more members are needed to keep things fresh.They should try to make it shorter a bit like the life series and have players around a similar skill level.That’s my solution pretty much take the life series as inspiration.

I also still find it entertaining I mean if you want pvp action watch literally any other smp while the name is friend or foe it’s more chill than your average smp and I personally like how there is some pvp here and there but it’s mostly just some friends playing Minecraft and chilling but that’s just my opinion
I think ultimately the sequel of a series will never perform as well as the original. I kinda agree with your first two points, but I don’t think the server assassin has had that much of an impact on the viewership, only 62k people watched the introduction to the server assassin and I feel like most of the people who watch mini are more dedicated viewers who probably watch every perspective and they probably would’ve heard stuff about how it’s not scripted, so I don’t think it put that many people off and I think we need to give the assassin some time it still seems like a cool addition that has made the series better and he probably won’t release his perspective until he’s off the server. I also think that the later stages of the series will be a lot more interesting than the early stages and even if the viewership is a bit lower who cares it’s still entertaining

There should be PvP every 3 or 4 out of every 5 episodes of Friend or Foe. And biweekly uploads would be good as well. Also if SB737 sees this, bring back your Awesome World series.
For the 1st reason, ur really right but one reason you forgot:the PVP skill difference is really high. I still adore the series

I think the main reason for the lack of pvp is the player count
Only 4 players (+ Server Assassin) isn’t a lot when compared to other servers like Bliss, Showtime not to mention Lifesteal
However, I think that the addition of events (nether fight, end fight, etc) like in season 1 would be great for the series

Player count is absolutely not the problem. ForF doesn't need to turn into a more boring copy of Grian's life series, the low players is what seperates it from the rest.

They could’ve done a slightly better job of implementing the Assassin. They did briefly mention it at the beginning of the series, but most people forgot therefore making it unexpected.

It's plain boring. I tried watching but all the episodes amounted to nothing and no one has been banned yet
I personally would have enjoyed a modded season. Something like Better Minecraft, where it adds dungeons, better world gen/biomes, and things that aren't game breaking.
This season in particular feels very dry, gameplay wise (excluding the fights). Clown's done the most exploring but yet it still feels like everything is just going to happen at spawn. There's a lack of adventure and a lack of interesting things to find. Clown being completely unafraid of the deep dark should say enough. There could be more-

The thing that needs to change. Server assassin needs to be revealed, it will be a big shocker for the viewers because whoever it is has to be good enough to kill Clownpierce, even when they have full netherite

I came back to this vid after watching episode 27 of forf. And let me say, it has only gotten worse. SB was the only one playing for the episode (plus previous ones) killing the idea of multiplayer action and pvp, effectively making it a new singleplayer world SB was playing. And to add on, SB just keeps getting stronger on the solo eps, which i think is kinda unfair since the other members didn’t get that same opportunity. However tho, i do see someone arguing that since they didn’t log on, SB could do it, and that the other members should just log on if they want to do anything. This argument, while kinda true, is flawed. The views on the video was 72k, which I’m not sure but I think its the lowest forf got so far, unless there was another instance of a lower view count. This view count shows with the state currently of forf, ppl made it out to be boring, repetitive, no fun to watch with the lack of consistency with posting, and if the members are online. People just moved on. Furthermore, mini literally SPECIALIZES in making forf content so it should be a no brainer that he logs on with SB, despite the lack of members. Unless they can find a way to ALL play together, (and I’m talking to you QUIFF) in my eyes, this series is essentially dead. I really dont want it to be this way, but the only thing saving this series is if the members log on, but with the state of every member, i dont see it getting better from here on out.

Interesting perspective, ill give my two cents on the matter:
The series at the beginning was fun, but from episode 1 if you knew anything about the creators involved you would realize that the series was doomed to get stale. I mean, the pvp skill range is just too great a difference. Something like the life series handles this better by having their best players be multiple and lower skill difference than this. (not saying the life series isnt without its flaws due to this exact same argument, but its more manageable to expect and watch as a viewer while being mildly interested and not knowing exactly what to expect the winner be.) Now on to the topic at hand with that being said, ClownPierce can solo all 3 other creators at once, the only difficulties are his own self-imposed ones. I think the series was doomed from the start because we all know who will win. I like server assassin because of his possibility to balance the odds, but, overall i think there is just not enough wow factor combined with we know the end result without having to watch 30 more episodes.
what the members can do is have a upload schedule like back in s1 upload forf twice a week like s1 and they all upload twice a week unlike quiff who never uploads
The problem is then they have no Time for other videos, like Clownpierce cant upload lifesteal and sb cant upload hardcore

The lack of fighting is boring for me personally. Sure you don't need to fight every episode, but occasional fights are cool. Also Clown Pierce's attention is split between Lifesteal Season 5 and Friend or Foe. And Lifesteal is what grew his channel mostly so yea.
They need to break that boring deal between SB and Clown

The players in the series had to take some breaks with clown moving to UK (I think UK idk).
Also, everyone was waiting, begging, praying to SB for a second friend or foe, he says it himself .
Although, I do agree with you about the lack of fights and barely any server assassin leading to staleness in the videos. However, long breaks can lead to decline in views they probably knew that. I also agree that Clownpierce not destroying everyone (mainly SB) may have lead to some decline but I mean, he has to, otherwise, the series won't last that long.

I think they need a season restart. The series is getting “boring” to watch because of the lack of action, and I think there should be only 15 episodes. That would make the entire series shorter, and maybe add a new twist every 3 episodes

The biggest thing I want in that server if for the deal to be void I would say SBs innocent from third partying clown and SA but if the deal was void than the content would be better cuz it’s boring to watch clown run for 20 minutes and we all know he’s not gonna die so it’s kinda lame

The fundamental problem of this series was the skill gap between clown and the other members. This means that every fight has no tension anymore, and we all know that clown is winning FOF 100%.

I have a theory on why it’s just not the same. Keep in mind I say this as a person who only wants to see clown win. Most of the problems can be traced back to him. Why, because he is so good at the pvp and is on a pvp server. If he wasn’t holding back let’s be honest the series would have been over before a 1 month had past. But then the server assassin comes in and immediately targets clown and is never seen again. So that idea not only failed but just made it look like based on clowns pov for the episode was that the server assassin was only their to balance out against clown probably being someone who is also very skilled at PvP. Now this is just a theory so let me know what you think. Also I think all the content creators who work on friend or foe are awesome and say none of this because I don’t like them.

I think is because everyone is playing like a complete 🐱 for example sb is just farming achievements clown has been farming gear to fight server assassin (when he should be getting better at PvP) and quiff and mini don’t even know how to play the game
