They even don’t know what they are talking about but, what they are trying to figure out is how AI will help anybody other than the rich big wigs like google amazon and microsoft. It’s the ai paradox. Everything you think will happen the opposite will. Such as when they predicted ai will take blue collar jobs instead it took white collar jobs and those jobs seem safe for the next 10 years compared to white collars who are shaking in their boots right now. Also, continuing with the AI paradox how can something help businesses design to cost businesses? AI will be so expensive to purchase from 3rd party and costs in the cloud used to host the data and systems used in compute power will be so much 99% of businesses wont be able to afford it, thus creating a bigger gap between corporations and small businesses. Its scary. Its the great reset.

Do they realize that AI runs on cloud? For every few work load Gen AI does successfully there are some workloads that are incoherent, false and needs human intervention. Unlike other hypes in the past, there is no control over this generation nor a way to know why such mistakes happen. One could argue humans make mistakes too but with humans there is always some level of control over where such mistakes happen and when found can be rectified. With GenAI you neither know how the problem happened nor how to fix it without tweaking the model which is costly and you need human supervision to point mistakes. There are cool applications with content creation, automating tasks and all that but the error rate is high for businesses to sustain losses for long time. Let's see how it goes.

They highlight an interesting point, that the use of generative AI will make work more efficient which would lead to less seats for SaaS companies and thus less revenue.
However, I would argue that there could be a rebound effect since less seats would look more appealing for companies, and since more work is offloaded to genAI, this makes consumption models more expensive as it scales. I would argue it makes a good market for SaaS companies.

    • @waynelast1685

@@waynelast1685 The reality sounds like the companies will pay for less seats while doing the same work since genAI is taking care of what used to be human labor if they choose SaaS, which is an appealing aspect for the companies to save operating expenses.
This could then produce a rebound effect where even though each company is paying less, there are more companies choosing SaaS so total revenue could still increase. The higher revenue driving a stronger market.

Wake up bro. Things are over rated when it comes to AI. The media and anyone with something to gain, click bait, chips manufacturing or whatever are pushing these narratives. The reality is AI is super expensive and still is not sophisticated enough to do those things anyone would like us to believe. Do not believe the sales people, the journalists and anyone with selfish interest. Listen to the selfless academic experts and study history. Hypes like these are very common and are often pushed via channels like RUclips for the crowd.
I believe AI is a great invention that can improve efficiency just as Google search did but with greater magnitude. However, there is a cost to everything. Infrastructure and human intelligence. People, will be lazy and our capacity to innovate will suffer. Hence, there will be less innovation as we shift towards reliance on AI to do simple calculations for us. Our ability to use our brain will dwindled and the will be full of stupid people who are ready to follow whatever AI has said or done. However, there's one thing with humans we are great adapters and I trust we will significantly overcome the AI challenge. One thing for sure, in the future intelligent people will become very rare and priceless. The opportunity cost for humans is the lost of intelligence muscle. Google improved our capability to find knowledge or information and learned from them. AI is giving us the processed information and we just need to use it. There is the problem we will lose the ability to use our intelligence that is scary for the future of human race.
