    The description of the attack on Moscow, in particular, brings home the absolute wanton destruction of Russian culture by the 1941 Nazi attacks. Irreplaceable history, architecture, and artifacts, on top of countless lives, obliterated by such mindless aggression. One can't imagine how the Russian people felt living through such carnage.

      The USSR lost more people than anyone. Public school covers most of what is in this. It would have been a much shorter war if not for Stalin. Russia and the US saved Europe from Nazis but the USSR also helped start the war. Back when they were allied with the Nazis. This video leaves the part out where they invaded Poland and split it up between the Nazis and Moscow.

    • @sanjamry
      @sanjamry Год назад +1

      @David Jackmanson in Melbourne, Australia they never allied the had a mutual economic pack
      Stalin only did what he did to delay the inevitable war with the nazis
      Not to devalue the US but i honestly think the ussr would have invenuatlly won that war without d day. It did however shorten the war for sure but the user could have fought another 3 or 4 years and still crushed the nazis and taken all of western Europe if the is and uk not invaded France.
      Some debate this in a scenario where Germany doesn't declare war on the us after 12/7/41

      Or ironic?
      Stalin had to drop the Communist ideology for the duration and successfully appeal to the deep historical patriotism of the Russian people, that patient, resilient, and spiritual soul of a people ground down by oppression by autocracy from the Tsars to Lenin to Stalin. Once the Russian masses won the war in blood shed in the millions, Stalin and communist repression returned. Red Army POWs returned to be termed traitors and deported to the gulags

      Rzhev was where the Russians were forced to learn modern combined arms warfare. They got creamed by the Germans until they were able to combine tanks, infantry, air power, and artillery in combined arms attacks, basically Blizkrieging the Germans. Once they learned to fight with combined arms in the proper combinations, Army Group Center was pushed back, then broken up, and effectively destroyed.

    For the peoples of the Soviet Union, it was not just a war, but a continuation of the class-civil war. Most of the former elite exiled after the civil War entered the service of Hitler and invaded the Soviet Union. The two extremes of humanity collided in the vastness of the country: On the one hand, the extreme right forces, on the other, the Communists.

    I don't know, as someone who's currently like 320 lbs at the age of 23, and who was told when he was 16 that he only had 3 years left to live due to his weight, like I'm ready to try anything. And I don't think I'm the only one with this mindset. Apparently my weight is going to either kill me or lead to a bunch of diseases so I might as well take something that hasn't been approved for me because if it works and I lose weight I'll be able to live a happy and normal life, but if it kills me oh well. I'm apparently already headed to the grave anyway so fuck it.
