When all is said and done. this is strictly a warm weather, seas not too rough, fishing vessel. You sacrifice the inside helm to get more living space.
Au contraire! This hull set the standard in the 1960's ocean racing and for running in big seas. It blew the doors off all the other racers at the time! Look up Sam Griffith and the original Moppie. This is a Linda Ronstadt boat: Blew By You! You sound like a "high speed, flat calm" guy. Start running flat out into 3-5's seas, with 7's thrown in. Graduate to 11's. That's when the deep-vees fly and shine!
she's beautiful, and a sea keeping dream. Btw, you internet sea dogs do realize that this a "prototype" right? Experimental, in development, etc. I've owned a B-20 moppie for 17 years now, and it is the most enjoyable boat I've ever owned and I've shamed quite a few 25-30 footers in the rough stuff. Moreover, it's nice to go many years of riding the waves without having to tighten a single screw!
The helm is only 10' off the water it would have to be 40' if you didn't want to get soaked man she throws lots of water strait up and over. A guy would be a lot better off coughing up the extra money and going for the Viking 37 Billfisher you get a lot more boat and to helms so you can stay dry in a little bit of chop.
Jameson Cross Bimini tops are purchasable for this boat. Also, if you're worried about sun & getting wet while on a boat, you don't have any business being on one.
appears under powered. boat needs more dead rise. they need to get the bow out of the water. rides more like an old wood Lymann. the spray over the bow is most likely horrible... ok, if you put in 500 hp cats... it might lift out of the water on plane. hope it does, otherwise.... no
They're great, just got back from a couple nights on a mates here in Australia. If you know how to trim a boat there is more than enough power. She handled the bar crossings fine and we punched pretty far out into the Pacific, the hull is a good design and jumped on the plane fine even fully bunkered. My only complaint is I'd prefer a central ladder to the flybridge rather than have to get on the gunwales to climb up the crappy ladders either side..
What an idiot Idea, not having a protected bridge (in). In 1 m waves, you must wear a scuba uniform+glasses+gloves....👎 In this 200000$ range, I prefer to have 20 RIBs, with different colors and equipment 😂
Thank you Ray Hunt for the Deep V.
And the Boston Whaler.
Yessss, the best boat channel out there!!
Absolutely beautiful boat. Thanks!
I enjoy how this boat has a retro, 1970's flybridge/cabin cruiser design. I do not, however like that there's no helm inside to drive from.
Heinrich Von Kekelnazi lower helm is optional lower
@@Mr91495osh no it’s not.
Take it to the max! Nice little boat. ⚓
Santa please drop one behind my moms house in Freeport NY I went to the Canyon on a 31 when I was a squid in the 80s , loved ever since.
Put a huge Bimini top over the cockpit. Looks funky but so so nice in south Florida.

Put a swing out joy stick in the cockpit gunnel.
thats dead calm for New Zealand
And the Great Lakes. Not much of a sea running...
at 5:15 what is this boat at your right?
with the triple outboards :)

Great boat!
No white caps and your soaked on the flybridge. The hull seems suited for flat glassy seas

Only thing missing is a hardtop
That was a great review.
Just add a half tower and spray rails. It’s still a “wet” boat.

More sailing catamaran reviews please

It's an overpriced water taxi. The original "31 was a fishing machine. Bloody decks is Bertram heritage. Not this...
Stray rails!
Looks pretty wet
nah.
So you bake in the sun when driving, and get soaked when it's raining. No protection for the captain. That's a crappy boat in my book.

That was a dumb reply. Shows You know nothing..
rides like a tug boat even at 25 knots.... needs dead rise... you missed it. going to be a flop. I would buy it.
Not my style
now thats an expensive piece of crap

I want to know more about the design for the prop tunnels .. how it handles a following sea .. its a shame they didn't add a lower helm station...
