The line, "And I'll be an old troubadour when I'm gone" has a second meaning to it. While it could mean his death many fans believe it was in reference to his decision to stop touring. Many think that's why he made the song in the first place since of as you know troubadour refers to a traveling poet. It's sort of a personal reminder that even though he was stopping a huge part of his life, it wasn't going to change him as an artist. And it really hadn't, he is still lovingly referred to as King George in the country world. If you'd like a recommendation I'd say anything of Dolly Parton, especially any of the songs she personally wrote would be a good listen.
My first time watching your reaction. I’m a George Strait fan. But what hooked me was your encouragement to read. I’m a life long reader thanks to my dad. My rewards for good behavior was books. If you like the storytelling try Alan Jackson I suggest either Remember When, Drive, or Home. Writes most of his songs.
He did "Remember When" the other day. I'm still getting over him referring to it as CUTE❗🙄 Even the younger reactioners get more than "cute" out of it!!!
This really got to me, in my teen years and early adult I was a die hard western reader and I migrated to fantasy later in life and I see so many parallels on the two genres as to how the protagonist acts and the choices they make. Great video
React to George Strait - Take Me to Texas💯 it's a great song about texas & George Strait is the king of country with the only artist that has 61 number ones in all genre of music.
61 # 1 hits.. The rest of the singers eat your heart out. King George

George Strait is considered the King of Country Music. He's a huge star, but still a cowboy.
He and Alan Jackson are the best of the best!
