I feel like 2018 was the year that Indie brands showed everyone how it's done. So many great interesting and high quality palettes on your list!
I think that is why I don't have any mainstream brands in collection (unless you count Juvia's Place). Indies are son innovative!
Plus when I buy indie, I never really worry if something is going show up on my deeper skintone. All the indies I follow have a mentality that if it can't show up on deeper skintones, it's not worth putting out.
Agreed! 2018 has been like Dior who? What's L'Oréal? The big companies really got some competition with all these amazing indie brands releasing affordable things that are waaaay better than the lame shit that big companies put out. :D

I'd love to see a Three Looks One Palette video with the Colourpop palette, doing three looks with a six pan palette would be so amazing!
I do think the Good Sport palette is the best color story Colourpop has ever done, because it is the first one I ever bought from them. I had been wanting to try the formula for so long, but just didn't want to buy one of their others due to the amount of brown.
I’m not officially on a low/no buy this year, but I am resolved to not buy any palettes with black and brown in them. It is amazing how many makeup companies want to take up space in my makeup collection with repeats of blacks and browns that I can never hope to pan because there are way the hell too many of them. I love how you’re highlighting palettes that adhere to that rule, because it shows how when they put their minds to it, these companies can do genuinely creative things. I am noticing that when they default to having black and brown in a palette, how much of a signal it is to me that they’re phoning it in and not trying to innovate.
I don't care having browns or a black in palettes but they have to make sense in the colour scheme of the palette. I need to look at the palette and think that brown looks amazing with that blue, for example. And I mean, that specific brown with that specific blue. In other words, they have to treated as actual colours, not as fillers. Sadly most of the times it's too much too ask for.
Some people think every palette needs to have every color they "need"...lid-setting shade, transition shade, black, etc., or they consider that a flaw in the palette. I'm guessing companies cater to that mindset.
There's a small Singapore Cruelty-Free Indie Brand, Makeup with Rising Phoenix. Reasonable pricing and high quality. Plus, they're hand made, made upon ordering. After I discovered it, I can't stop buying from them.

The Hasina2 is my favourite palette ever color wise. Thank you for throwing your knowledge about Indie brands outhere. Without you I would never have such an amazing collection of colours.
I agree with you regarding the black shade in the Creepy Cute palette - I've watched videos where the black was used to darken the outer corner but most of us have blacks or other dark shades from other palettes. We don't need a black shadow in every palette! I would have expected the palette to contain only pastel shades. I have searched high and low and Creepy Cute is the best one out there, others aren't pigmented enough or aren't really pastel shades. I hope this year other brands will produce real, pigmented pastel palettes.

OMFG Cosmetics currently has a pastel palette out & it's so pretty, but idk how pigmented it is. I hope someone purchases it & makes a video on it soon.

Meaghan Rabideau Awe I wanted to try the Melt Cosmetics Smoke Sessions palette sooo bad but you can’t find them anymore... you’re so lucky to have that one. I love a lot of these palettes too.
I wish more companies would follow Juvias place by not putting mirrors in every palette. NO ONE NEEDS A MIRROR IN EVERY SINGLE PALETTE! I would rather save the money and buy a cheaper palette with no mirror. A mirror can easily add $15 or more to a palette. Who even uses those mirrors to get ready? I would rather go buy myself ONE good mirror and save all of that money on tons of palette mirrors.

AMEN to that! I do not care at all about mirrors in palettes, in fact I never use them! I would pick a palette without a mirror over one with the mirror 100% even for the same price lol they even make palettes harder to recycle

Georgia Harris talked about how hard they are to recycle in one of her videos. I wonder how many of those are sitting in a landfill for no good reason. Just more waste.

You are the reason I got the Vivids by Coloured Raine and two collections from Clionadh. Thank you for helping me discover great brands and push my boundaries when it comes to colour. My fav colour palette is still the JMB by UD...that lime green gets me every time...and that purple...and that pink...and that...😅🌈
I could probably have mentioned the vivids by CR but I have them as singles and its hard for me to see them as a palette :P

I'm a sucker for repetition LOL. And, I'm starting to like smaller palettes because of your videos (6-pan Viseart & Coloured Raine, 9-pan Huda, 6-pan Tarteist Pro to Go).

My favorite eyeshadow palette of 2018 is definitely the BH cosmetics weekend festival 🤩 I got it because of you and I'm so in love with it, the formula is amazing, the price is super affordable and I love the color story!

My favorite was the Coloured Raine vivid pigments eyeshadow bundle. It's just so good. I still get insanely happy just looking at but it also has excellent pigmentation and blendability.
Absolutely would love a Pretty Much tutorial. I bought it on your recommendation when I did my first CP order and it's beautiful but I know you would help inspire even more looks.
With the amount of eyeshadow palettes you tried this year, this was fun to watch and see which were your top picks. I didn’t buy many palettes this year, but I’d say my top three favorites that added something extra special to my collection beyond just neutrals and allowed me to dip my toe into colorful shades were the Colourpop Good Sport, BH Cosmetics Weekend Festival and Colourpop Ooh LaLa.

Natasha Denona Gold palette was my favorite this year, the shimmers/glitters/metallics that are different shades of gold and teal are just so beautiful and I use them over different eyeshadow looks every time I wear make up :)
The BH Cosmetics Weekend Festival palette is indeed my most favorite palette this year! So good
Thanks to you I went from all neutrals to wanting a lot more color. Fave palettes went from CP Dream Street and UD Born to Run to CP Good Sport and bh Zodiac. The Hasina 2 is calling to me...but I'm feeling your normal pain with shipping being half the cost of the palette.

Getting the tribe palette hopefully in post on Monday ordered on 17th but living in Ireland and Christmas it’s been a bit of a wait! I love the Dream highlighter palette I got it because you seemed to like it I thought I wouldn’t like it because of my mature skin n glitter combo but it’s my favourite which is saying something the about of makeu

I've really enjoyed your videos this year...especially every day in December. You have such a refreshing approach to makeup and using color. I really loved this video ^^ I really feel like it sumerize 2018 very well ^^ My favorite palette was the "by Petra" collaboration with revolution beauty ... This palette looks like she was made for me ! My boyfriend bought it for me ... by accident ! But it was the best accident possible, I never regret it ! I used it almost 4 times a week since september (for college) and I am still feeling like playing with different effects, textures, colors ... It is a very versatile palette ! I’ve been looking for a beautiful mustard and I may get festival palette just for that mustard. As for color pop, I really love the Yes Please palette. It’s probably the only warm palette I love where I create unique looks

I have some of these and want to try some of these. Juvia's Place will ALWAYS be a go to for me. That Hasina 2 palette still speaks to me and I will eventually/hopefully have it
There really were so many amazing palettes in 2018!! I haven’t tried all the ones you mentioned yet, but I did just order the Tribe palette and I think I’ll be ordering Hasina 2 later this month.
Some of my favs this year are the Alien Cosmetics Unearthly palette (love all the orange!) and the Menagerie Cosmetics Feral palette. I could probably list a ton more though!! 😂

The Carnival Palette from B Perfect Cosmetics x Stacey Marie MUA was my favorite palette of 2018. Yes it’s bulky haha but the shadows are such good quality, the colors are amazing and they’re laid out in a way that gives a lot of inspiration
I know you can't get Violet Voss, but I LOOOOVE the Flamingo palette. The color story is beautiful and I find the shadows work very well. I used it obsessively over the summer and even once last week. Just looking at it makes me happy.
I bought CP Good sport palette because of you! I'm just started to wear more colour on my eyes and, as you said, if I don't feel like colour, I can have natural eye look!

I have way too many favorites to make a list. :) But, for formula only, my absolute favorite discovery of 2018 was the Dose of Colors 5-pan palette formula. It is SO good! I'd be thrilled if they could expand that line into more colorful options. Could you imagine the hit an all green palette would be from them?! Or even purple!

I decided this year I am on a low buy. I have a brand exception which is Juvia’s Place ONLY! I can buy as much as I want from that brand only. I really discovered them from you basically! Their quality is so above many many many brands!
Besides Juvia’s pallets - I would have to go with the UD Born to Run pallet was my favorite this year over all both neutral and colorful in one.

Colourpop's Good Sport has to be my favorite of 2018. I'm waiting for my Hasina 2 to arrive, maybe it will be a 2019 favorite for me haha
I get what your saying about the black in the creepy cute orange, but honestly it's my favorite black! Also I love that palette on my skin tone and it's been so easy to work with! Can't speak for everyone of a deeper complexion though 🤷🏾♀️😊
I got my Juvia's place Tribe palette today! :D And the saharan 2 palette. They are BOMB! I'm really happy that I got into indie brands in 2018. They're more innovative and their products are so inspiring and exciting. Thank you Angelica for introducing me to We makeup! I made a custom palette and the quality of it is one of the best I've ever tried. :)
The Hasina 2 is my favorite palette of the whole year, really stunning colors and very unique. I can create really beautiful looks with this.

I really love love the colourpop good-sport palette oh, it's definitely one of my favorites. I also love the Juvia's Place palettes the new tribe palette, and I just got the festival palette in the mail the other day and I'm waiting on the Zulu palette and I'm just so excited because there's such beautiful palettes and their amazing quality💜
Definitely would love to pick the Hasina palette and one of the Certifeye palettes. I can't wait to see what you think of the Pinky Rose Cosmetics trio. I finally had to sit down and play with the Exotic one....and I am blown away by the quality of those shadows so far. LOVE LOVE LOVE the Tribe palette, it's so amazing! You have really inspired me to explore color and indie brands since I started following you towards the end of the year, so thanks!
