So I caught one of your newer videos and enjoyed it, and as I often do, went to take a look at more videos on your channel. This is a great video and wow does it hit close to home, figuratively and literally. Looking forward to checking out more. Thank you.
Thanks for this. I hope to eventually get up and running creating "quality" YT vids on areas that interest me. In the meantime, slowly learning how other indie folk are going about it already, helps stimulate and inform the ol thinker tinker in the right direction. Gave me an idea of how much "nest egg $$" could be required for a basic 'decent' setup as well as some passive 'you CAN do it' motivation.
I've been binging this channel today, and this is the video that got me in the feels (just in that last minute). And you buttoned it up with that duct tape tag, which pulled me up. So good. I liked your hottake on backpacks too. lol
Same here, feels refreshing. Phil should collaborate with Johnny Harris, i think theyd complement each other. He gave a shout out to Cleo Abram (another ex Vox host) a few videos ago and im sure itd help phil. Vox really knows how to make content creators.
Wonderful video and very good points. Even though you make it look easy, I know you put in a lot of work to make these interesting and thought provoking videos. Thank you, Phil!
Excellent video Phil. You've expressed eloquently how I feel about the whole youtube malarkey and I keep swithering between the notion of launching a channel and not launching a channel. Thanks.
very relatable dilemma. indy producer means lower budgets and (initially at least) smaller audiences, but you feel a greater sense of control over your future. the uncertainty of the market vs uncertainty of corporate politics
Thanks for sharing your tips. Although all are important, none is more important than the glue that binds all; software. If you can't present it, nobody can watch it.
Really liked this video Phil. Not only did you show us what you used and how you used it, but you taught us some other stuff, and really shot the entire thing well. And on top of that you had some pretty awesome parkour moves! Quick question though, what programs do you use to edit? Awesome video Phil! 👌🏻👌🏻
hey thanks! i do so much animation that i'm pretty locked into the adobe premiere and after effects workflow for speed. however i've of course heard good things about resolve and final cut.
@@PhilEdwardsInc no worries Phil. Ah cool! I’ve just got resolve and getting my head around that. Really like your editing style so wondered what you used.
Just subscribed. Would you make more videos? I think you have talent..hope you find the time.. Because making only one every 11 momths..make me think if I made the right decision.
Oh that was this funny thing you needed for the A73. The viewfinder screen didn't full turn around or up, so a tiny mirror was the only way to see what was on the screen if you were in front of the camera. Pretty ingenious fix, actually.
This was so pleasant to watch, can’t believe „only“ 4000 people saw it though 🥲 This is imo a Paradebeispiel (which just means ‚prime example‘, but I have to follow the long tradition of Germans unnecessarily throwing in German words into English sentences on the internet) of a video!
@@PhilEdwardsInc literally gonna include a new one now every time you upload a new video! I really enjoy it so much how absolutely everything can be a word in this language at which point it is impossible to write every single one down
Full disclosure, I’ve since traded up to an A74 and sold the Insta 360.
Insta 360 gives great B roll though and lets you take those risky shots that you wouldnt take on the A74. Just saying, love your work Phil!
welcome back phil glad you remembered you have a channel
the footage of you running on the bridge made me think you had a second person. impressive monopole work.
now i just need to improve my cardio!

Love it Phil - your editing, all the SFX, so good. This channel has so much promise

I cannot believe I only found this channel now. Love it
Honestly, this video is so wholesome that it may very well be my favourite from your channel 😊
Haha thank you for watching, though it makes me feel a bit guilty - I sold the INSTA360 on eBay!
Wonderful video and very good points. Even though you make it look easy, I know you put in a lot of work to make these interesting and thought provoking videos. Thank you, Phil!
thanks for saying that!
You drive a Subaru Outback. You sir are a man of culture and practicality.

youtube is and remains a very hamlet style experience. good luck in your indecision/decision.
Back for a re-watch after feeling inspired (again) by your digital spaghetti interview. Love your work Phil. Thanks
ah, thanks!

Insidiously inspirational!

True true! That was an omission! Happy to share any software too.

Arrived here from Answer in Progress 🌟

🔥🔥🔥🤟🏿🤟🏿‼️🧠
Sound advice. What I am really interested in is your motivation. Tell us a little more about you.
Binging all these videons on the channel
You need to hack into the Vox youtube account and share your youtube channel. Awesome content so far, keep it up! From an Englishman..
Those are some thought-provoking gear questions at the end. Now I’m going to reevaluate my gear list to potentially remove some items. 😳

i will not let you down!
Hey Phil! Was wondering what that thing is on your camera's view finder?
Oh that was this funny thing you needed for the A73. The viewfinder screen didn't full turn around or up, so a tiny mirror was the only way to see what was on the screen if you were in front of the camera. Pretty ingenious fix, actually.
I live in your area haha seeing all these places feels strange
